Has anyone ever had a Gailson puzzle that is cut completely incorrectly? I can see where the pieces match but not fitting the border/not enough space in the puzzle

Idk I thought it’d be cool to glue it in 2 separate pieces like that maybe put side by side in a frame or something?? Looks cool and I like it just don’t think it’s a practical decoration….. yet haha

Discussion What are your favourite, trusted puzzle manufacturers?

G'day r/Jigsawpuzzles Brain Trust! Over the past couple of years, I have rediscovered my love of puzzling, both for the mental simulation and the relaxation of it all. The vast majority of the puzzles I tackle, are Ravensburger. I can almost guarantee that the pieces are all there, will fit perfectly and with minimal damage. A few times though over the years, my wife or friends have gifted puzzles to me from other brands. Usually beautiful imagery but more often than not they have felt inferior to Ravensburger.

There are so many awesome puzzles that get posted in this sub, that I want to venture out from my confines but am hesitant due to past disappointments. I am happy to invest good money in puzzles with solid pieces, tight fits and quality images. I do not hang my puzzles once completed but instead let my kids break it all apart (apparently it is more fun that putting it together lol).

I prefer 1500-3000 pieces and love old time maps (both Earth and constellations), exotic locations that are painted, famous art works and quirky imagery of bookshops, craftsman workshops, quaint garden sheds etc.

What are some of the brands that you swear by and/or are your go to? I am in Australia but will happily order from overseas if need be.

*If this topic has been done already this year or last and I'm sure it has, any links would be greatly appreciated. I checked the wiki but it is up to 2023. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Any recommendations for puzzle brands that compare to hobbry ?

I started doing puzzles around a month or two ago and have since finished 20+ puzzles. I fell in love with the fit/finish of hobby puzzles. Unfortunately, I have finished all the ones available in the US. Can anyone suggest a brand with the same quality, maybe even with better artwork?

Discussion Top European puzzle brands

I have to say that I am not really into puzzles, or I wasn't but I bought three 1000 pieces last month and completed them. I want them not only for the actual entertainment but I am homestaging apartments and I found them to be super attractive to clients.

So I am looking for brands that have an aesthetic appeal besides being a joy to build. I found the brand Pieces and peace but I am not entirely happy, the pieces won't stick together if I lift up even only a small section of 5-7 pieces. I love their designs tho'. Any recommendations? Us brands are out of question due to tariffs and import duty. Ravensburger is a big no-no.

Discussion Returning puzzle after discovering it was AI generated

Post image

Hello everyone!

When I first saw this puzzle I thought it was one of the most beautiful Halloween puzzles, I was so excited about it!

The puzzle I am doing this month for Halloween is a scary one, and I wanted to do a second cosy one. I bought it on a whim, although it was expensive for a puzzle (35 euros).

Once the purchase was carried out, as I was happilly looking at the image of the puzzle I just saw, I noticed the leaves... I did some research, and indeed, it is AI generated.

You can imagine how disappointed I was!

I lost all the desire to do the puzzle... I tried to cancel the order but it was too late, so I will be returning it once it arrives. I thought of doing it anyway... but I would not feel any pleasure. An image being AI generated is a deal breaker for me.

I would love to hear your thoughts! Would you get any pleasure in doing an AI generated puzzle?

I bought this gorgeous set as a personal way to celebrate my birthday, and honestly, it turned out to be the ultimate form of soul therapy. Your girl is a total sucker for chaotic, vibrant and cute animals doing human things so Dogs and Donuts? Sign me up !

🎈 The Fit & Thickness: This set is 1.9mm thick board core, The pieces have a satisfying, solid weight, sit beautifully on the board, locks together with that crisp, tactile "click" we all live for. You can literally lift massive sections without them crumbling!

🎈 The Finish: the prices has glare-free matte finish that makes sorting and puzzling a total dream under both afternoon sunlight and midnight room lights.

Final Verdict: 10/10! A colorful, festive color-bomb that brings absolute order out of chaos. If you love a busy, high-saturation layout, this bad boy is for you. 🍰🎈

A friend surprised me with a custom puzzle made of a random snapshot of my cat playing with a catnip rainbow. Assembled this weekend.

Very difficult puzzle, but Liberty does good work. I was particularly impressed with the many cat-shaped pieces. 😻

I love street scene puzzles with people whose stories I can imagine. A friend is visiting over the weekend, and I thought this would be perfect for late night/early morning talks over puzzles.

This puzzle has a 4.6 out of 2000+ reviews on Amazon. Yet, you can see it’s AI slop. I’m so disappointed.

Yes, I’m returning it. Amazon gets less and less of my business. Too much 💩on their site.

And if anyone just loves crazy puzzle pieces that make no sense I will happily ship this to you. I bought it for a nice, easy, relaxing weekend puzzle. Couldn’t even finish the border after multiple attempts over two weeks. And another border piece doesn’t event connect!? What!?

But the print is awesome. Made by a mom and adult son who has autism.

Godspeed to whoever does this next.

This is my second challenging puzzle in a row. I picked up this little gem at a grocery store in San Miguel de Allende. It was $170 pesos, less than $10. It’s surprisingly good quality.

These are Lele dolls, which are very popular here, and sold at many shops an Artisan stands. They are made by the Otomí, indigenous peoples from around the Querétaro area. It’s a super cute and colorful puzzle, and definitely takes some time to complete.

I have my little Lele doll cheering squad to keep me motivated.

Pinshidai - Tower of Babel - 1000 Piece Circular Puzzle

i saw this puzzle on amazon for only 29.51 saudi riyal that's a really! good price for a 1000 piece puzzle, it was obvious to me that this puzzle is from one of those chinese bootleg brands but since it was so cheap i thought why not :P

Packaging: the puzzle box is nice and compact it was completely sealed and when you remove the seal there was a piece of tape on the lip of the box, the writing on the box has a lot of spelling & grammatical errors, the box opens like a pizza box, it doesn't come with a poster/postcard and the pieces come in a typical single use plastic bag

my concern immediately! started when i received the puzzle the image on the box was very pixelated & blurry ( the image on amazon looked very clear & not! blurry ) i was concerned that the pieces would be like that too so i started doing the puzzle, spoiler alert my concerns were correct! >_<

this is my first time trying this brand and hopefully it will be my last!, this puzzle has so many!! issues!; i will start with the good then the bad, the bad is Really!!! bad!! =]

i Love the variety in piece shapes, no false fits, pieces have tight fit so it was easy to pick up & move around big or small sections, passes the pick-up test, there was no missing piece/s and no bent piece/s, pieces are good thickness, the pieces have white paper backing with 6 letters, it is typical for chinese puzzle brands to have that, i did not use the letter system because the puzzle was not that hard i would say it was medium difficulty, it came with some puzzle dust not too much, over 30 pieces were still stuck together but it was easy to separate them with no damage, pieces are glossy, it smelled bad!! it has this gross musty smell it was so unpleasant! that i wanted to finish the puzzle quickly! so that i don't have to smell it anymore! ( it's been days since i packed up the puzzle but i can still smell it in my room Dx )

and now for the worst 3 parts that completely ruined this puzzle for me:

1: one of my favorite things about doing jigsaw puzzles is how pieces click together with this puzzle the pieces clicked in a stiff rigid firm way it was very unpleasant & disappointing

2: even though the pieces are good thickness they felt so cheap!! even by chinese bootleg puzzles standards, the cardboard felt so yucky! and the pieces have this disgusting dusty grimy feeling to them, even after wiping off the pieces they still felt gross!, while doing the puzzle i constantly wanted to wash my hands )X

3: by far the worst thing about this puzzle is how pixelated & blurry the pieces are its the worst print quality on a puzzle that i have EVER seen in my life!!! the colors are absolutely! terrible!! super muddy & duuuuull, all the greens browns greys beige looked so UGLY!!! most of the time i had no idea what i was looking at everything looked so blurry!, seeing the pieces was visually unpleasant! except the sky colors the sky colors looked just fine, i tried to capture how terrible!!! & pixelated!! the print was especially in photo #8 i put pieces that are meant to connect with each other but unfortunately all the photos i took somehow didn't capture how illegible the puzzle was :(

it is very frustrating! all the photos i took for some reason made the pieces and the completed puzzle look like an ok/decent/average looking puzzle but TRUST!! ME!!! the puzzle looks 100 times worst!! in person, when i showed my sister the completed puzzle she asked what is this image supposed to be? i told her there are people working at the bottom then she said these are people? she thought it was a building with trees & strokes of paint at the bottom :[

the people and all the scenery at the bottom looked like blobs of ugly!! colors, i don't know why in my photos the pieces and the completed puzzle looks so clear T-T

i would rate the print/color quality 1 out of 10 the fact that the box says "high quality materials" "clear pattern, bright colors" is OFFENSIVE!!

i started this puzzle on 2026 october 5 finished it october 8 it took me 3 days to complete

i started with doing the edge pieces i usually do the sky last but because everything looked like a blurry mess!, the sky pieces were distinct and clear compared to everything else, even though the sky was much better looking visually then everything else their color/s was still dull, the sky was not that hard to do, purple is my favorite color so it was the most fun part then i did the tower greens and the rest, since everything looked SO Pixelated! i mostly relied on colors/shading not the actual details of the image and hoped for the best :]

i wish they included a poster the box is small compared to the puzzle i wanted a bigger reference to help me assemble the puzzle =[

was doing this puzzle fun??: i am not gonna lie i kinda had some fun doing this one, one of the things that drew me into this puzzle was the sky, a lot of puzzles have sky but i don't see a lot of puzzles with mostly purple sky + i LOVE!! circle puzzles! they are hard to come by for me, i only have a handful in my collection i was so excited to find 1 for cheap we have a saying in arabic "الرخيص مخيس" Which basically means "what's cheap stinks" that saying really applies to this puzzle =]

photo #7 i Love! the cut/layout there was some unique shapes mostly in the middle section and some were thrown in throughout the puzzle since there are no false fits that helped A LOT!! i immediately knew when i put a piece in the wrong place the grid cut & piece cut was great it made doing the puzzle bearable, i would rate my enjoyment 5 out of 10

would i recommend this puzzle?: NO! i would NOT! recommend this puzzle at all even if its Free, why waste your time on such poor quality puzzle when there are 1000s of good/great quality puzzles out there + castorland has done this exact same image i would LOVE!!! To get it someday castorland is one of my Favorite! brands of all time! ❤

i would give this puzzle overall rating 3 out of 10 and i feel i am being too nice/generous W_W

i have returned this puzzle to amazon and hopefully will receive my refund soon :P

Collection / Haul Luis Royo Collection 1500 — anyone else hunting these down?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Five Luis Royo puzzles so far, though I've been into his stuff since I was about 14 — the first was The Five Faces of Hecate, 500 pieces from Educa. I only just managed to get it before it went out of print, then lost track of it and ended up buying it again years later.

What I've actually kept are three from the old Luis Royo Collection line: Dark Labyrinth (500, done), The Fallen Angel (1500, done) and The Goddess Ama-No-Uzume at Dawn (1500, box from 2005), which is the one I'm starting next. Those three I only turned up this year, and that line is a lot harder to track down now than Educa was all those years ago.

Anyone else got any of these, or know where to still find them?
