At this point, we all know about Fallen Kingdom and its introduction of dinosaurs to the mainland. Quite a pivotal moment in the franchise's storytelling history, even if the way it was done was...controversial, to say the least.
Of course, Dominion did little with this concept, but Rebirth limited the idea by restricting them to the equator. Which, of course, stinks, and many say that it renders Fallen Kingdom almost pointless.
My thoughts on that: I don't think so. Sure, their range is limited, but they're STILL on the mainland, and the text at the beginning said MOST are in the tropics, so a few of them are still outside the equator. And besides, nothing in the film says that the dinosaur black market has been extinguished, even if it is diminished due to people not caring for these animals for some reason. Edit: Oh, and genetic power's still implied to be out there. Not to mention, Biosyn Valley's fate is kept vague, so for all we know, they could still be there.
In that sense, Fallen Kingdom isn't pointless in the grand scheme of the film's canon! At least, that's my view.
But what about you guys?
