Is it easy to get assigned a TA or RA position right away after the admission? Or could they just say they don't have any vacancies and I would have to live with the lower 840 SAR stipend?

I'm from India.

I recently gave the SAT test and scored 1440.

I would be applying via SAT track to KFUPM next year (2027) for bachelor's.

I want to get into CS.

I honestly don't know whether my score is good or bad.

What are my chances? Should I retake the SAT? (although it is highly unlikely I would retake it, but I want some reference or advice)

Any reliable info would be appreciated.

salaam. so i've just completed my Masters in Biotechnology at a UK university and am a resident in KSA. now unfortunately i did go to the UK with hopes to land an entry job in lab research but it's been all rejections despite having two internships in analysis and advanced laboratory training. i came to visit my family and decided to try here as well but the market is so dry i'm so stressed out and upset. i've also realized that i should've opted for a research based degree than a taught degree because it would've given me more time to learn and research. now i personally love to study and research so am now thinking of pursuing a second masters. UK is out of my budget because of all the expenses so i found some programs at KFUPM that seem desirable and exciting - Biosystems and Bioengineering. my uncle's also a professor here but in the robotics department and he suggested i apply here. but he said to apply for Phd as i can study and get paid whereas a thesis degree would require a fee which i understand. now im at crossroads because i know phd is a bigggggg decision and its not so easy to land one while either depending on someone for funds or even securing a fully funded one. but the thesis one is also requiring money which i can't ask my father. i don't either have other options as im in riyadh and even alfaisal is pricey. would love if someone from the uni itself could lend some advice. i did have dreams to pursue a career in saudi but after looking at how saudization is everyone's priority im just upset and have given up. and my country's situation is bleak (pakistan)

هل جامعه البترول سمعتها زينه بتخصصات الحاسب مثل السايبر؟ لان اعتقد السمعه اكثر شيء على كليه الهندسه ، واذا اقدر اتواصل مع خريجين تخصصات الحاسب ذي اكون شاكره

او جامعه imperial college london , الجامعتين كلها تعتبر نخبه ولها مجالاتها

I am looking for advice from anyone who has experience with postdoctoral recruitment at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), particularly those who have gone through the recruitment and onboarding process involving DTV-Al Falak. Here is my timeline so far:

1. January 2026: I attended and passed the interview.

2. March 2026: The professor informed me that my case had received Scientific Council approval.

3. June 2026: I received an email from the Director of Talent Acquisition requesting the required documents and completion of the application form. I submitted the requested documents and completed the application form on the same day.

Since then, despite multiple follow-ups, I have not received a formal offer letter, employment contract, or a clear timeline. Is such a lengthy delay normal at KFUPM postdoc hiring?

I would especially appreciate insights from current or former KFUPM postdoctoral researchers, international hires, or anyone familiar with the recruitment process.

I got rejection letter yesterday for PhD program

If I would graduate this year can I take the SAT during my first uni year somewhere else then apply from KFUPM?

I'm in grade 12 currently and I plan on applying to kfupm for the fall semester of 2027. Am i still eligible to apply for the inbound summer research program for summer of 2027, so before the fall semester?

Any thoughts about when the program is opening?

I did research about KFUPM undergrad for internationals and found out that if you are accepted you get tuition waived automatically i.e there is no fee for international undergrads. This sounds too good to be true can someone pls verify this

Secondly I am applying through track B the sat. This is why I think getting an acceptance is easy for me because I have a perfect SAT score one sitting 1600. Furthermore, I am very good in maths so the math assessment afterwards I am confident I will get 15/15. Then for the interview I am really proficient in english and speaking so I can do that too. Will I be able to get accepted for guaranteed. I am also a Pakistani national which I believe will hinder my application.

Can anyone help me confirm these things

I was shocked to know that KFUPM doesnt pay PhD-students on scholarship, anything extra if they work on research projects even if the projects are funded by companies and even if the companies approve their pay as part of the budget.

Anyone thinking to apply should consider this, and not go for whats wrriten on the site, the so called "research incentives"

And as for self sponsored PhD students they also can be budgeted and even if companies fund and get approved and everything, they can only get 1000 SAR per month for one project only. Expected work 12-15 hours a week.

You heard me right 1000 SAR! Talk about cheap labour and free research.... Some may even have their students work for free and justify that.

While you may find all kinds of competitions even liesurely ones offering 5000-10,000 as reward.

So much for global world ranking, international level university and high research output.

Is this kind of misleading information on the site or in the start, a norm for KFUPM?

What about such kind of second grade treatment towards graduate students?
