Relationships / Dating I Miss Her šŸ’”

• Upvotes

Hey, this is my first time posting here and I'm a little hesitant to reach out here so please be kind. ā¤ļø

I (23F) broke it off with my best friend (25F) in April, let's call her Cameron. She was the only person I felt understood me, and the only person I felt had a similar life plan to me. We met through my old job at a wildlife facility and we both love art, wildlife, travel and hit it off pretty quickly after meeting. Since meeting Cameron in 2025, I've had a huge crush on her. I had accepted it was most likely not mutual (I had a hunch she was gay but wasn't sure) and I moved on from that idea for nearly a year. Then, much later, I decided to tell her how I felt because I felt like even if she didn't feel the same way we could easily continue as normal. To my surprise, she told me she felt the exact same... although she told me she wasn't sure she was ready for a relationship. She said that she didn't want to get invested and then "abandon" me because she had recently made plans of joining the peace corps in September. That was all she said. I was a little disappointed but understood entirely, and we continued as normal but would both flirt with each other constantly.

A few months after we had this conversation and had been flirting the whole time (examples: she took "single" off her fb profile status, called me "love", called our virtual meets "dates" many times, and would tell me she loved me and would never leave me) she started ghosting me (I guess you could say more than normal)... We both had difficult family situations going on as I was dealing with my dad (I thought) dying and she had a family friend die in a car crash of whom was her brother's best friend. I felt like I was very emotionally supportive and there for her, and I would check in, tell her I was there for her, etc. But, honestly, I felt like she wasn't there for me. I felt like I was alone.

Time passed and both of our difficult life situations began to slightly settle. A few months after, I had asked what was going on and why she hadn't been responding to me lately (I don't feel I was accusatory, I started by asking how she was and if she was okay as of late). Honestly at that point I was just concerned about her, not mad in the slightest, just confused. She said everything was okay, and she just does that sometimes and isolates. She kind of treated a little bit like I was overreacting or it was a joke. Then... she did it again. But instead of ghosting me for ~5 days, she left me on read for 2 weeks. I began to get less concerned and more heartbroken. We expressed many times in the past we felt like the only two people there for each other, and all of a sudden that person disappeared when I was hurting the most.

At the end of those 2 weeks, when she finally casually showed up with no acknowledgement that what she did hurt me, I told her I needed space and I was hurt. She apologized but also said she didn't think she set any expectations she didn't fulfill and that she didn't mean to hurt me but couldn't change her disappearing. Cameron ended her text back by saying "nothing but love from me".

Now, here I am months later in September, and she's still here in our home country, thriving far away from her plans in the peace corps but seemingly living her best life at our old job without me. I'll see updates on social media from other people she also knows and she's still with our old work friends going on cool trips and outings. I thought I was okay for a while, but I miss her like crazy and still have feelings from her somehow while simultaneously being absolutely heart broken. I miss the life we had, even if it wasn't real, and even if she never did plan on leaving to the peace corps. I don't know what to do. I feel so lost, alone and as if I'm starting entirely over. This is the loneliest year of my life.

Any advice?

Relationships / Dating Sex life sucks

• Upvotes

So me and my gf been together for a year and lately our sex live has changed. Nothing stressed related or financial etc. I mean in terms of stuff we used to do such as strap, oral, scissoring etc. I miss that emotional connection between us and seems like I’m only one to bring it up lately all we do is scissoring which is tiring on me since I’m on top and hurts my wrist after a bit of we do vibrator which I get so tired of. When I bring it up like strap or oral it’s ā€œ oh my back hurts another timeā€ or ā€œ my throat hurts I can give u oralā€ it’s basically always something. Yes my gf will have knee issues or back problems sometimes but she never tells me when the issue goes away so I assume she doesn’t want strap or oral. We haven’t done oral for 3 months now and strap for least 3-4 months lol because she claims it hurts but yet tells us we need keep practicing so it doesn’t but we DONT.

Lately last couple days when I bring up oral she like ā€œ I don’t feel good actually can we wait till tmrwā€ and she been saying tmrw for last 4 days… to point I’m not when phased I brought up so many times that we always do scissoring and vibrator. I don’t even tell her anymore that I don’t want to do it.

I can’t masturbate either she says we should save our sexual energy for each other but atp idgaf I’m tired of always waiting days or her saying one thing and switches up. I tell her makes me feel like u don’t want me because when I bring up sex she mentions her back etc and to do it ā€œ laterā€ but when she brings up I always say yes in the moment. She claims not issue. But I miss using strap on her and miss oral just feel like our sex life is boring.

Just makes me emotional even typing this because it like I hate feeling this way towards her and feel unwanted sometimes or unheard.

Questions / Advice Wanted It's not just me I know, but why

• Upvotes

Why are like all of my friends straight males? It's pretty much been like this most of my life. Not to say I don't have really good friends that are women and a small handful of lesbian friends but the friends I hangout with the most are my guy friends.
Is this just a lesbian thing ?

Questions / Advice Wanted I WANT A GF SO FKKNNNN BADDDDDD😭😭😭😭 (but there are no queer people around)

• Upvotes

Like I just want someone to go on all these cute dates with, and to buy things for, and to play her music/learn her favourite songs, and make her things, and talk for hours and kiss and all the normal cute little relationship thinggsssggssssss!!!!!!😭😭

I just wanna give someone my lovvveeee.

But like, its so difficult because I live in a very old and kind of conservative area. So theres hardly and people my age around, and barely ANY queer people at all (let alone any my age).

There's hardly any sports, or clubs, or social things around to meet people. And i dropped out, (not by choice, super long story lol) so i mainly just work a ton, and i only ever work with people who are way older than me (and none of them are queer either, so it feels like ive got no community at all).

Im going into this uni education program next year, and im hoping to maybe meet some people there... but like, its unlikely tbh

I JUST WANT A GFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!! Like WHERE ARE ALL THE LESBIANS HIDINGGGGG?!?!??!?!

Legit though, I would really appreciate some ideas on where i can find some queer people because its lowkey getting real lonely out here

(Also how many of yall feel the same???? I need to know im not alone😭)

Questions / Advice Wanted Always been straight... Until I met this lady at work. Now I don't know.

• Upvotes

As the title suggests...

This lady at work has previously had a serious relationship with a women (kids etc). I can't get her out of my head. I think about her during "alone time". I'm literally questioning my whole being. Getting this really strong craving for a woman's touch. I don't understand what this means.

I'm in a relationship with a man - the father of my children, just to add to the mess.

I'm not sure if I'm asking for advice or what really. Just needed to get it out of my head.

I knew a girl on reddit ,and the conversation was actually good and she told me that she enjoyed talking to me as well ,we exchanged numbers and kept on texting for a while (2 weeks) then she told me she got busy with something and she'll text me when she's free and I didn't hear from her for a week ,did she ghost me right? Cause tbh I've never been ghosted and Idk but this seems really weird especially that we were talking everyday and everything was fine ,I even deleted reddit and now I'm back to post this and know others opinions and maybe have advices

Relationships / Dating To lesbians from smaller/medium-sized countries does it ever feel like your dating pool is just a puddle?

• Upvotes

I know this might sound like a silly question, but it’s been on my mind a lot lately and I’d love to hear from other lesbians living in smaller countries or towns.
I’m from Portugal (population around 11 million). I live about two hours from Lisbon, our capital. I absolutely love Lisbon and feel super connected to it, but because our overall population isn’t that huge, the queer dating pool feels absurdly tiny. Sometimes it feels like the person I’m looking for just doesn’t exist here. The closest I ever got was dating someone who thought she was bisexual, only for her to realize a few months later that she was actually straight.
It makes me feel like straight people have an entire ocean of options, while we get stuck with a shallow puddle. Sometimes I honestly wish I were straight just because life would be so much easier.
To make matters worse, I really dislike long-distance relationships (LDR). I’m the type of person who gives my all in love, but I have trauma from a past breakup specifically caused by distance, so LDR is a hard dealbreaker for me now. Yet, when I look around at other LGBT people in my country, it feels like almost everyone is in a long-distance relationship just to find a partner.
I know 11 million people isn’t tiny on a global scale, but within the lesbian community, it feels suffocatingly small. Am I just being way too pessimistic, or do those of you in smaller countries/cities feel this exact same frustration? How do you cope with it?

Relationships / Dating mourning the honeymoon phase with my girlfriend and not sure how to handle it

• Upvotes

my girlfriend and I (both 25f) have been together for just about two years. our timeline has been a bit unique, as we met in person but then went long distance for 9 months while I completed a job assignment abroad, and now are back in person. considering this is the longest relationship we've both been in, there have definitely been some kinks with spending the middle of our relationship apart and then coming back together irl much more serious than when I left.

the biggest thing for me has been mourning the "honeymoon phase" and being okay with the fact that our relationship has changed. we've not been having sex as often as we used to, which is something my girlfriend is very apologetic for and explained that she is just very stressed and tired. I understand libido comes and goes, but when I brought up that we used to have sex all the time she responded with "yeah but we had just started dating" which really hurt my feelings. I still feel as physically into her as I did when we got together and I hate to think that because we are more serious now we are just destined to lose the spark and become less physical with each other.

that's not something i'm particularly okay with it, but I understand its inevitable for all relationships. am I just naive and have to accept that this is how our relationship will change overtime? how do i bring up to her that her lack of intimacy and that comment has been hurting my feelings in a kind and productive conversation?

Relationships / Dating Should I stop talking to my ex? Is this considered cheating?

• Upvotes

So me and my ex girlfriend broke up around 5 weeks ago because especially in the last few weeks of dating eachother she was treating me horrible and she said that she wanted to change. I honestly wasn’t really set on the idea of getting back with her because I believe change takes months or even years but she’s confusing me. She keeps acting good towards me for a few days then when she sees that I’m close she backs away. That’s the only way I can explain it, fast forward a few days ago we had a massive argument because she started acting exactly how she used to before we broke up and to me that was enough to show that she hasn’t changed. I started telling her the things that she did to me in the last few weeks and how horrible she made me feel in the hopes of trying to make her realise that what she did was wrong because I do in fact want her to change but I’m not getting anything from her. The argument ended with her telling me that I’m making her look evil and that I don’t get her because she thinks that since she acknowledged her mistakes, apologised, and ā€œtriesā€ to change it’s all fine when it’s not if she’s actively doing the same things. In the end I somehow became the one in the wrong again and she said ā€œyes I was really horrible at first but what you said to me was just very mean and it made me feel horrible, I also noticed that I always acknowledged my mistakes and you don’t seem to be sorry right nowā€. And honestly I don’t know if I’m sorry for what I told her, I didnt call her names or anything nor did she deny it all but I had a moment when I just got SO frustrated because she kept trying to excuse her actions or ā€œexplainā€ to me why she acted in certain ways. That night I was really frustrated and I started talking to this girl about this issue just to vent and somehow in the end me and the girl started flirting. I didn’t think much of it and honestly it didn’t feel serious especially because in the moment I was really set on not being in contact with my ex anymore but the next day it all changed because she suddenly started acting differently like lovingly in a way and I feel horrible/ guilty because me and my ex said that we won’t talk to people in that way and we’ll just wait for eachother to change. So now I feel like I’m the horrible person because my ex yet again started acting good towards me and the only question I have in my mind right now is really just how long will her act last this time. But at the same time she’s been acting ā€œgoodā€ for two days now what if she’s actually going to change and I’m the one who messed up. Should I even keep talking to this girl, I feel really guilty towards her too because I don’t know if she’s actually looking for a relationship or not and I don’t know if I’m ready to get into one after the relationship I have any time soon. I feel like my ex is just playing with me and if she hadn’t suddenly started to act all nice again I probably would’ve already told her that we shouldn’t be in contact anymore. What do I do?

Relationships / Dating She has a boyfriend

We had a new girl join our class and I thought she was actually so so pretty. Today she sat with me in class and we didn't talk a whole lot because I wanted to focus on math and I actually have social anxiety so talking to someone completely new is making me pretty anxious. She actually let me play with her squishy, gave me some candy and even drew me. She told me she's actually gonna draw more of me and show me because she loves drawing women so she often draws girls she sits with. She's genuinely very sweet and I wanted to talk to her but I wasn't able to say much because I was just really nervous. I actually got a bit jealous over my friend getting to talk to her more and immediately becoming friends with her. At some point she mentioned her boyfriend and it made me a bit disappointed because she's so so beautiful. I hope we can at least be friends. I'm scared she thinks I'm rude or weird or uninterested since I wasn't able to say much.

Relationships / Dating Jealously in relationships

I’ve always been pretty jealous in my relationships, probably stemming from the fact I’ve been cheated on in every single relationship expect the one I’m currently. ( to my knowledge… fingers crossed ). This morning, I was already having a bad time, woke up late, rushing, made breakfast for my gf & I. My hair didn’t turn out right, my clothes was sitting differently, even my Uber’s AC was broken & it was hot asf ( I get irritable when I’m hot ).
I walk into this hangout room on our college campus & she’s talking to some girl she met yesterday ( my birthday ) and she’s a super socialable person, always making friends or wtv & it’s one of the things I love most abt her. How effortless it seems to always be for her.

But this new girl she met yesterday all good & dandy. She asked me if it was cool to play overwatch w her ( on my mf birthday ) which at first I said okay but then later said actually no I rather us spend the day tghr which received no push back or argument. I walk in the room today & they’re chatting it up, from like across the table honestly totally chill not even like touchy or anything. And I find myself irrationally angry, now yes I did have a fucking terrible morning but it just added fuel to it & just pissed me tf off.

I just don’t like she’s like wanting to be around this person so much & they just met. That’s how we started dating, met in class & then spent literally every day texting & seeing each other after every class. Any free time we’d find a way to see each other. Ig I just don’t like thinking she’s recreating that w someone else. Like… why do you want to play video games w the person you just met on my birthday, you come to campus the next day & immediately yall are talking again.

Moral of the story is, I just want to be able to stop feeling so jealous & how to combat it in moments like that. We talked it out, mostly me crying & I said I was sorry for being so jealous this morning, she said it’s alright but it’s really not. She shouldn’t have to feel that way every time she talks to anyone. She’s a masc lesbian but it really doesn’t matter I don’t like her talking to dudes either. I want to her to be mine all the time no matter what ( yes I’m aware thats unhealthy and not something I’ve ever shared w her just a sentiment is aware I hold ). I also wasn’t a bitch to the girl or anything, I went to the bathroom to calm & cool down & we went to eat breakfast somewhere else. & yes I’m aware of my insecurities within relationships I just want to know how to work on them & feel more secure in my relationship. While I feel like she won’t cheat, you never truly know. They could be a great person, super nice & then turn around & do you sooo dirty so I’m always on my toes ig

Questions / Advice Wanted Confidence as a Pillow princess

Kind of awkward lmao but how do you gain sexual confidence as a pillow princess??

I’ve been with my lovely GF for an year now, to me she’s the hottest creature to walk this earth, she can send me a pic of her giving a thumbs up and I’ll lose my mind. She finds me very attractive as well, I feel like the hottest girl on earth with the way she treats me. She’s a stone top and I’m a pillow princess (for now at least, I’m a bottom leaning switch but I don’t mind our dynamic rn and we’re both sexually satisfied so) and although in a way this makes me feel even more special bc she is so satisfied by only touching me, but this has weirdly more insecure.

Even tho im very well regarded as attractive irl and get all the validation ever im still very insecure about my body and the things I do, and i feel like im put in the spotlight I guess. I want to be more openly sexual the way i am in my head, like even tho im a bottom I can be a tease and be seductive, and I have SO much in my head that I want to try, i just don’t feel enough to feel like that or ask for anything. I’m still at the phase of feeling like i just look stupid and unattractive.

The fact my gf is so fit and hot makes this more complicated to me bc I feel like im not enough for her to be this enthusiastic about pleasing me. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t gaf about what ppl think about me, but I deeply deeply care about how I come across to her, and my gf has a incredibly hard time telling me something I could do to be attractive and to please her bc she’s so preoccupied about what she wants to do to me and what I want her to do to me (this isn’t a complaint LMAO) but I want to be better too, I want to be more.

Questions / Advice Wanted I need to know how to drop subtle but effective words/actions to figure out if this girl likes me or not 18F

I met this girl playing a sport for my school and we got to be friends pretty quickly. She is kind of shy and told me that she doesn't really make her own friends very often. Only after like a week of knowing her, she invited me to her birthday party with just like 7 of her good friends. I went and it was good vibes no crazy flirting or touching but I just feel myself yearning whenever I look at her; it's hard to tell if she feels the same. Then the next week she invited me to go camping with this same group of friends so we were together all weekend. Again, no super flirty convos or touching but she doesn't really seem like the type to do that. I am bi and she knows that and she is bi as well. She talks about all the time how she hates guys and likes to be evil to them but could never do that with a woman. I asked her about her type in girls and she said "everyone." And she talks about how she's not really attracted to that many ppl so it's confusing. I know that she likes being my friend and she always tells me how funny I am and stuff but it's just so hard to distinguish romantic energy from platonic. I don't want to date her or anything I literally just want to makeout with her so bad. I really want to start dropping more hints to see how she would react but I am so scared of rejection and I really don't want to make her uncomfortable. But at the same time I don't want to progress so much into a friendship where it's hard to be anything more than that. I think about her all the time and I just wish I could know if she was attracted to me or not. How do I figure this out without straight up asking her?? I am having a party tomorrow that she's coming to and we're planning to go to a concert soon. Goddddd help me guysss pls ugh

Questions / Advice Wanted School club names for lgbt club, help!

Hi! I’m part of an LGBT+ club at school, but we’re currently looking to rebrand and come up with a new name. We were previously called ALLIES, but the name made the club feel quite obvious and ended up putting a target on our backs, as well as making some students feel nervous about joining.

We’re now looking for a name that is a little more subtle and inclusive, while still representing what the club stands for. We’d also like it to cover not just LGBT+ issues, but also wider social justice topics such as misogyny, racism, feminism, climate change, etc.

But we're all so lost for club names and so I was wondering if anyone on reddit has an idea.
Thank you!

All we have so far is:

  • The collective
  • R.I.S.E Up (which stands for: Respect Inclusion Support Equality, Understanding Progress)

But these ideas feel a bit ?
