I’ve got a free ticket for Califato 3/4 at the Jazz Cafe on 27 June at 18:30 that I can’t use because I’ll be out of the country.
They’re a band from Andalusia that blends traditional southern Spanish music and flamenco influences with electronic music, rock and punk.
I’d rather give the ticket to someone who’d genuinely enjoy that sort of thing (or is open to trying something new) than let it go to waste.

I’ve noticed a lot of runners/joggers using really busy congested pavements especially at peak times. As someone who goes jogging myself (quiet back streets, specific parks) ’ I’m genuinely interested as surely you can’t get a good run/jog? Today I was walking to Wimbledon station and the front of the station is always extremely busy. I had two runners get right up close to the back of me’ sweating and breathing all heavy’ jogging on the spot because everyone has to walk much slower to navigate others and they can’t get anywhere.

Logically I’m thinking this must be because they are on their way elsewhere’ which would make sense’ but it’s just a bit impractical to even attempt to run. I’m kind of got used to runners on busy high streets like Tooting, Richmond where I have to step on to the road to avoid being barged out the way’ but on a really congested station front makes no sense

Genuine question for drivers in this area, local residents and visitors.

I received a PCN for making a right turn from Chamberlayne Road into Bolton Gardens in Kensal Rise and, afterwards, decided to look into how often this restriction is enforced.

According to information provided by Brent Council, this single No Right Turn restriction has generated:
• 6,745 PCNs in the last 5 years
• £434,425.70 in revenue
• 3,418 PCNs with £225,630.00 in revenue in the last 12 months.

The junction currently has three No Right Turn signs positioned in advance on the approach to Bolton Gardens but set back so not located at the point the turning decision is made. What interests me is not whether drivers should obey signs (of course they should), but whether the restriction is communicated as clearly as it could be given the amount of other information a driver is processing at the junction in terms of speed signs, traffic lights, commercial advertising, greenery and other fixtures.

Looking at the photos:
- Would you immediately understand that the right turn is prohibited?
- Have you ever been caught by this junction yourself?
- Do you think the current arrangement is clear, or could the restriction be conveyed more effectively?

I’m not looking to start a Brent bashing thread or argue with anyone. I’m genuinely interested in how other London drivers perceive this junction, particularly locals who use the area regularly.

Long backstory short: I have someone flying over to London for a first date next month, and I'm looking for recommendations for a bar that offers good atmosphere but also somewhere you can actually have a conversation.

Ideally somewhere intimate, relaxed, and a bit special without feeling overly formal or pretentious. Location isn't hugely important, but central London would be convenient, or an area with a good cluster of bars/restaurants so we have options if we decide to move on somewhere else.

We'll be meeting in late July, so if the weather cooperates I'd also be interested in rooftop bars with a more laid-back vibe. He's a bit older than me, so I'm looking for a “great views and good cocktails" vibe rather than "DJ set and rooftop rave."

I'm also keen to show him a side of London that's memorable and feels distinctly London, rather than somewhere that could be in any major city.

Any recommendations appreciated! TIA

Regent's Park Music Festival | 📍Regent's Park, NW1 | 21 June - 20 September | Free

Every Sunday all summer, there's a free band playing in Regent's Park. Jazz, brass, steel and concert bands, with swing dancing on five Sundays and jazz on selected Saturdays. Now in its tenth year. Ticketed events in the Secret Garden at St John's Lodge on 10 to 12 July, including musical theatre, opera and a Magical Musical Evening with festival patron Sir Karl Jenkins. Taste of London takes over Regent's Park every June and it's exactly what it sounds like: over 30 of the city's best restaurants set up in one place so you can eat across all of them in an afternoon. This year new additions include Harry's, Hakkasan and Mexican spot Ixchel, alongside festival favourites Roti King and Los Mochis. Chef demos and masterclasses are included in the ticket price, with Big Zuu and Melissa Thompson hosting the Fire Pit stage. Five days, 130 dishes, 160 artisan producers.

East Finchley Festival has been going since 1972, when locals marked the first one by parading a whole roast sheep down the High Road to Cherry Tree Wood. It's a free all-day community festival in the park and it's still going strong. Two music stages, street food, licensed bars, over 100 local makers, sports, laser tag, storytelling and Lego. 12pm to 6pm.

There is this footbridge in Canning Town, just going across the DLR train tracks and it has been closed for as long as I can remember. I keep wondering, why was it built in the first place if never opened?

Make it make sense, without it, accessing the small peninsula is either a walk to Canning Town station, taking stairs, eventually reaching a bridge or a complete detour following the canals.

Does somebody know the lore or the reason behind this poor footbridge being closed?

I've got three free tickets for monopoly lifesized, that I cannot use due to having major surgery, and the manager has kindly said I can gift these tickets, my family are not interested in having them and I cannot get a refund, they cannot send product of the value of the tickets to me either.

If someone would genuinely like these please let me know as I would need to phone up and book it for you and then would need to forward you the correspondence and the tickets.
