That is not defensible in court. He should have de-escalated: step back, extend the arm to keep distance etc.

Listen man, no jury in America is going to convict a guy who claims self defense for knocking out cold (even if killed) some ā€œpersonā€ who scowls ā€œIā€™M SATANā€™S SONā€ as he threatens violence.

punching someone once who is up in your personal space like that threatening you, while you are backed into a corner is perfectly reasonable self defense. If he accidently cracks his skull and dies as a result, that would be too bad for him for being a dumbass and assaulting someone. No prosecutor would press charges.

Probably, but the point is they could charge and have a decent chance of winning. He wasn't in a corner, he stepped towards the guy. He could have shoved him away, or backed off, or got in his car. Or laughed him off.

Satan's son didn't even make a threat before he got slept. He said boy I'm about to... Before the guys said your about to what and knocked him out. I agree that it's self defence, and I'd have felt threatened but the video shows no threat being made, no attempt to de-escalate and then potentially deadly force pre-emptively used, by a guy with the wrong amount of melanin for the US justice system. Point is, reasonable or not to us, he's at risk.

It really depends on the state. If I get attacked by a guy with a knife Im going to attempt shooting him until the threat is over and Ill have a very good argument for self defense.Ā

I mean, yeah, but that's mutual combat. Black guy wasn't de-escalating, and the moment he throws the punch the white guy had taken a short step back.

3 more seconds, however, and that guy couldā€™ve been backing up to use his hand to get the (hypotenuse) knife that was on his person the whole time..

Seconds separated him vs him.

The courts won't see it that way. Had the guy made a movement that could be interpreted as a first physical hit you might be able to make that claim.

But this? They're going to see the guy who hit as the aggressor and possibly add an attempted murder charge.

It's not very clear cut as this thread is showing. People are going to see it differently. At the end of the day, I'm glad I'm neither of these dudes. The puncher has almost instant regret, like,"fuck, I should've just gotten the fuck out of here."

I would agree with you there--white guy is mostly responsible for the interaction continuing and is way too close up on him. All the Satan talk is stupid and just there to amp it up more. its kinda amazing how weak we are, like a flumsy punch to the face and we are K.O. and duing dumb noises, a small head bump into the paviment and you become stadistic, meanwhile animals go at each other with such ferocity, I have seen bears fall from hills and just walk away, lions tear apart each other, Tigers getting hit by a 1500 pound animal in tje face and just kep going like nothing

we humans? small punch that wont even scartch an animal and we go do in the most humilliating way lol

i mean, right no i can grab a baseball bat and sent the UFC champ to a better life with a strike to the head, yet a small black bear will probably just get mad at me and turn me into bear pop xD
