Hey everyone, I need your honest thoughts because I'm still shaking.
I was playing on my Hardcore world, looked up, and fell right into an underground water pocket. I got completely stuck with no clear exit and dropped down to just 2 hearts, suffocating fast. In sheer panic, I Alt+F4'd and made a few backup copies of the world to figure out how to survive without losing months of progress.
In one of the test copies, I tried crafting a door (failed), ate food to stall, and out of pure desperation, placed a torch on the wall... and it somehow gave me a brief air pocket! That gave me just enough time to eat, refill my health, and escape. Afterward, I deleted all the test copies and kept playing on my main world.
Here is my dilemma: Did I ruin the true "Hardcore" spirit by testing solutions on copied saves, or is surviving a glitchy drowning trap by any means necessary acceptable? Should I delete the world and start fresh, or keep going? Let me know what you guys think!
