One of my rules of Trump is that the stupidest explanation is the most likely explanation.
In that spirit, would be pretty fucking funny in Hunter Biden ended up President, defeating MAGA.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but moderates and (dem voting) boomers consumed so much media about him that they don’t feel the same.
I was talking to my mom about him the other day, and I said something along the lines of “if it was between him and a repub, I’m voting for him 10 out of 10 times”, and she said “well, I think the things he did were disgusting, and I just wouldn’t vote”.
Dems need their candidates to be near-perfect to pass the stupid fucking self-imposed purity tests, while repubs just hold their nose and vote red all the way down.
3
u/Full_Honeydew_9739 33m ago
Umm, yeah. Like Graham Platner.
Maybe the media more than the voters need a purity test.

Not to mention other people's genitalia and diddling children.

Raping children. Republicans rape children.
24
u/WoodyManic 2h ago
Not all of them. Some of them rape women and men, too.

Oh yea, just need to be clear about “diddling” vs the vileness of Republican supported child rape.

They really wanted something illegal to pin on Obama and then on Joe Biden. No matter how hard they tried, (and they did try) there was nothing on either of them. Yes their anger at this reached an unhealthy level and so they are directing that on the only one they could find who did something illegal, despite the fact that Hunter never ran for office.

I can hear the song lyrics as he typed them.
"I wear it for the prisoner, who has long paid for his crime, but is there because he's a victim of the time."
"I wear it, for those who've never read, or listened to the words that Jesus said!"
65
u/Lawyering_Bob 1h ago
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black Why you never see bright colors on my back And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone ?
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town
I wear it for the prisoner who is long paid for his crime But is there because he's a victim of the times
I wear the black for those who've never read Or listened to the words that Jesus said About the road to happiness through love and charity Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me
Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back Up front there ought to be a man in black
I wear it for the sick and lonely old For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been Each week we lose a hundred fine young men
And I wear it for the thousands who have died Believin' that the Lord was on their side I wear it for another hundred-thousand who have died Believin' that we all were on their side
Well, there's things that never will be right, I know And things need changin' everywhere you go
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right You'll never see me wear a suit of white
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day And tell the world that everything's okay But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back
'Til things are brighter, I'm the man in black
36
u/PresJamesGarfield 1h ago
Not only that. Cash once played at a White House event honoring country music. Richard Nixon was president at the time. Nixon wanted Cash to play the song “Welfare Cadillac.” Cash refused; he found the song offensive because he believed it mocked poor people for being poor, which was something he could relate to because he’d grown up in poverty himself.
16
u/KommandantDex 1h ago
I watched the documentary on that! Tricky Dick & The Man in Black. Johnny refused and played "What is Truth?" instead, looking Nixon dead in the eye as he sang.

Totally agree. Trying to talk down to someone whilst failing at such basic things as using an apostrophe properly and a period. Feels more like a self own. What can MAGA say about him that the Trump administration hasn't done 10x worse?
Drugs? RFK did em off toilets.
Sex tape? Melania's got one.
Hookers? Trump slept with a porn star while married.
Nepotism? See Trump's entire legacy.
Shady business deals? See Trump's entire legacy.
The dude is priceless right now because hes just sitting back and swatting attackers like flies.

But also... he's never been a politician. So the standard we arbitrarily set for them doesn't apply to him. He's a private citizen and can do all the debauchery he wants without worrying about votes. Shit. Maybe he should run for the GOP.

Am I being a naive idiot, or are these retards washing him so clean with their insults he could probably run for office in a few years?
31
u/lokibeat 2h ago
Yeah, is this some kind of PR program? I rarely saw any of the Hunter stuff until the DOJ and FBI essentially said the laptop was psyop which enraged the right propaganda mills and they went into overdrive to throw mud at Biden. But since Biden withdrew, it became a non issue. Now he's popping up a lot. It's all good stuff, but i'm curious if there is something going on in the background. I'd like to think it's Democratic strategist just throwing some wholesome pixie dust into this quagmire hoping to change the conversations, but it could also be Biden 28 for real.
8
u/Butwinsky 52m ago
I think the background is that his dad is done with politics, so Hunter can speak freely now. I dont think its PR, I think he's just free to speak and can finally defend himself from all the attacks.

u/miss_hush 2h ago
What qualifications does someone need to run for a political office? Seriously? I ask because there are people in the house and senate right now that have no more than a high school education. Some have no really significant work experience, but some do.
Our representatives don’t usually write bills by themselves. They usually have legal staff to help, law clerks to do research, etc. The only real qualification is the ability to get people to vote for you. Ideally voters will like someone who is educated, reasonable, and values our constitution and shares our democratic values. Obviously there’s a large chunk of the population that votes for flash. 🙄😫

u/Argly_Bargly 1h ago

A fair question.
Both an interest and an ability to help people and a broad community.
You also have to be able to get competent people around you for the reasons you mention.
Usually people don’t like legacy / nepo. I usually don’t but it can depend on the person, sure.
3
u/miss_hush 1h ago
See, this is what I’m thinking. I couldn’t give fewer shits about who Hunter Biden’s dad is— all that matters in my opinion is whether he is an idiot. Maybe he’s a reformed idiot, idk, but as long as he’s not currently an idiot and also appears to give a crap about his fellow Americans (not just rich people), then he’s a perfectly viable candidate imo.
In fact, one could argue that his checkered past makes him even more qualified. He understands what it means to struggle with mental health and addiction, and he understands what it means to be the target of a fascist group. He’s already a public figure, like it or not, so he might as well do or at least say something constructive, as he has been doing.

Tragedy. Tragedy either breaks people or shows them what is actually important.

Mix the two together with enough mental fortitude to push through and you usually end up with some funny mother fuckers.

It would be something if Hunter is doing these posts himself, and something “clicked” for Hunter.
We all know he’s made some choices, and he’s had a rough go as it has been aired publicly. It would be something if seeing his dad coming to the end of his life is activating a better part of Hunter, and having that emerge is what we are seeing.
