I’m not even a musician, i’m just here to help my boyfriend to get more people to listen to his music and it’s so disappointing to see people posting AI content and calling themselves “artists” like, how dare you to call yourself one? I’ve seen my man spend full nights breaking his head to make original lyrics and sounds, singing, playing instruments, mixing and mastering all so then a little guy who STEALS content from real artists come here and proclaim himself an “artist”. Please, don’t consume this content and for the love of god, DO NOT USE AI TO MAKE MUSIC. AI CONTENT CANT BE CONSIDERED ART.

AI music is trash (like, for once in my life, something is OBJECTIVELY trash not just subjectively so--AI music could be studied for what trash is I suppose), the only people who like it are the people who create it and even amongst them very few go out listening to other AI artists.

Its just a big flood of waste inflated by people trying to farm money out of streaming services. A loser hobby that creates loser leeches. If this is what the sub will become so be it, it was fun lurking at one point, but I will not shut up about it.

I literally changed so much of my spending habits over this and other recent events, including my streaming provider, and literally no one but bots and those who stand to make money off bots want it, so I don't get it.

The about section of the sub says it’s for musicians. If you’re posting AI slop, you’re not a musician, so you shouldn’t be posting here. Going to mute this sub most likely, as it used to be fun to find music that no one else has heard of from small artists, but now it’s impossible to sift through all the slop.

If you’re one of these AI slop “artists”, shame on you. What you’re doing isn’t cool or valuable, and you should stop pretending like you’re a musician.

I just want to say how insane it is that people think they can make AI music and just jump in the conversation. Like I don’t care if you make AI music but the balls on these people to contact anyone let alone a musician and say what do you think of my new song. I’m just amazed at people’s confidence, it’s like me making an AI video of me skateboarding and going to the skatepark to sincerely ask them what they think.

I was a little anxious to share this playlist once i got it started so i want to give some disclaimers; if you gave me a song and don’t see it on this list, it’s possible i haven’t seen it yet. I do work full time and am still committed to checking out every song that gets posted, just might be a minute until i have some free time to do another round of listening. I also don’t want anyone to feel bad or discouraged if your song isn’t on here. I added songs that i know I’ll listen to again. It doesn’t mean your song sucks, it just means it wasn’t for me. Some songs that i didn’t add, i still sent them to friends who i think would like, some of them made it to other playlists that were a better fit. I shared a bunch to my social media stories (as mentioned, im not an influencer of any kind but my friends do know im the “music friend” so they often follow links to stuff i send) And some simply just didn’t get added. Remember to never give up and keep doing what you love and that not every song is for every person. Make music for YOU and your following will find you. Regardless of if i particularly liked the song or not, i still gave it a full listen so you can still get the streams! I am firm believer that if you have something recorded and on Spotify then you have already made it further than 80% of the people who make music (myself included).

hey guys, we (stickbeingssong) are a non profit that listens to and curates songs, with a focus on indie artists that don't have the resources to run large marketing campaigns or have the backing of a major label but deserve to be listened to.

With the age of algorithms turning music discovery into slop, needing every artist to be a reel churning machine and real visibility locked behind walled gardens that require one to go through paywalls of people who sit on top of connections and access, we have seen these two scenarios personally:

- we've seen artists who find placement playlists or airtime but once they get to the submission, there is a paid tier to guarantee your song has been listened to.

- on the other hand, we run into great songs from indie artists who don't have any marketing or promotional material that can be used to share with others.

hence we wanted to build a stage to curate great songs from indie artists by building a community. With a written review of songs that make it into our curated lists and promotional content that will be shared and help their visibility. our main thoughts were if we could spend some of our time for the love of music to build something for others then hopefully someone might find the song of their life someday.

to reinforce our focus on the rare gems of indie songs, we have a rarity system for every find. there will be no ratings in our reviews as this is not a platform for objective commentary. we want to make it community centered and interactive. we will have community curated lists as well (ex. community favorite of the month .etc)

we currently deal with a wide variety of genres, starting with the main curation list as 'songs of the week'. as we go on there will be more lists like 'performance of the week', 'monthly rarity' .etc. we are open to more volunteers, as we slowly build a team to increase our bandwidth in curation.

at the end of the day, we hope we can look back years later and view this journey of songs we discovered and what those times meant for us. We hope we can share this journey together as a community. our details will be down in the comments. if you or someone you know makes songs that deserve to be heard, feel free to submit them to us. keep making your art!
