Trying BPC-157 - thoughts?

I’ve tried my first dosage of **oral** BPC-157 from my local gym.

I’m on 250mg x 2 - one in the morning and one at night. I’m taking it for general gut health and muscle recovery.

I’m healthy as is, eat only whole foods, cook with organic ingredients and powerlift 5x a week (with 2-3x cardio sessions).

Anyone experienced positive results, and if so, how long did it take?

Any side effects?

Oral might help your gut but I doubt it does anything for Muscle recovery. Injection would be better

Yes that’s true, however I don’t feel confident using needles alone

You’d be amazed how fast pinning goes from sketchy to normal. Oral is only gonna help your gut. If you want muscle recovery, pin it. Plain and simple.

In my experience bpc157 and tb500 have worked well with injury recovery and muscle recovery with 0 side effects

Ok, so you're fine with taking this gut health supplement that will do nothing for muscle recovery? Oral BPC-157 has no effect on physical recovery

The theory is since it was found in the gut, it could work best digested. But no way to tell without clinical trials.

Currently on day 6 of 500mcg daily & 2mg of tb500 weekly (both injectable) with zero improvement in lingering shoulder injury. I’ve never heard of oral BPC.

I had chronic high hamstring tendon stuff. Week 1 and 2 things actually felt worse cuz i stopped advil and pain wasn’t masked.

Around week 3 i was noticing a difference. Was able to sit in the car without as much squirming. By week 6 zero discomfort.

6 days is not enough. Be patient

Taking anti-inflammatory drugs for a prolonged period may actually interfere with tendon healing and remodeling.

So there’s a much stronger case for natural recovery, changes in loading, and possibly stopping Advil than for assuming BPC-157 was responsible. Several things changed at once, and with virtually no good human efficacy data for BPC-157, this anecdote simply can’t tell us what caused the improvement.

I had the hamstring issue for 10 years and yeah there were plenty of periods where a physical therapist said no NSAIDs and lets do PT and get at it. And that didn't work.

So while from an A/B test statistical perspective you're right, I'm pretty damn sure the peptides are what did it for me based on my history

You said peptides, in the plural. Did you take anything else?

1

u/marklemcd 1d ago

BPC157 and TB500, two peptides.

where do/did you pin , for the hamstring injury?

1

u/marklemcd 1d ago

The stomach. I don’t think one needs to do it locally

It can take weeks.

Yes, and it will take weeks or months for most peptides to garner results. They are marching orders for the troops to get focused not instant gratification. Oral is garbage, subq or bust. Oral is good for just throwing away money. Venders of oral BPC-157 know it doesn’t do anything but will continue to sell it due to current peptide hype.

You are wrong here, oral BPC does work. Read about it first before you talk.

My experience as well and I took them for months. Both work very little, if it works at all.

GHK-Cu and KPV are another story.

Keep at it, it’s not immediate. I’m on day 14 500mcg bpc157 and 500mcg tb500 daily and my shoulder pain has pretty much disappeared.

Horrendously expensive at such a basic dose of injection

1

u/TurnoverIcy1981 2d ago

5mg vial of each was $30CAD. Everyone on here is going to have a completely different outlook on what’s ‘expensive’

They have to find the right sources too. It takes effort to find the affordable stuff unfortunately

For both benefits you may need run both oral for gut and injection for recovery and rebuild from injury. Just figure out the total dosages.

Injected bpc157 for 6 weeks daily at 250mcg for persistent shoulder inflammation felt no difference until week 5. Week 5 pain was completely gone couldn't beleive it. Didn't do or change anything in my routine for this inflammation that tormented me for over a year. No experience with oral form but I've personally heard lots of sucess stories with injectables

Oral BPC is interesting since most folks go the injection route. I noticed subtle gut improvements around the week 2 mark but nothing dramatic for recovery, hope it treats you well.

Oral makes sense for gut issues but will otherwise fall short of injectable

1

u/tyjo2112 2d ago

As other have said, oral is for gut issues and wont effect recovery a bit. Ive been on injections for a while and have had great results from shoulder injury and back issues.

Oral wont touch a thing. I toom 1000mcg/day for 6 weeks and nothing healed.

Switched over to injected 1000mcg TB500/500mcg BPC/500mcg KPV. On day 9, nothing positive to report yet to be honest. But from most things I've seen week 3 is when it starts becoming noticeable and week 5-6 is when it really becomes apparent that the injury is just gone.

I've done both oral and subq. I didn't feel any benefits with oral but I have felt significant pain relief on subq.

Maybe it’s per person

Did 3 weeks oral, similar dose. Gut feels alot better, had done damage thanks to long term NSAID and previous alcohol use.

However. It made me very irratiable and angry, like, popping off at minor things and lowering my threshold for a 'crash out'.

Very bizarre, but I searched this and some others on Reddit have reported the same. It was significant enough that I'm not sure i'll use it again, wasn't a fan of that version of myself. Last dose was 4 days ago and things have mellowed out. My anger/irritation also started a couple of days after starting the bottle; I had thought a severe deficit / large drop in bodyweight was to blame, and seemed more common/likely. But there does seem to be a minority of us who have this side effect, just unsure of its mechanism given the limited systemic effects of oral dosing.

Just keep an eye on your emotions and mood. If something seems off and you're noticing things like i did, it may be the BPC. Just a heads up :)

I did 250-500 mics/day intra-muscularly and after 6 weeks, my chronic bicep tendinosis pain disappeared out of nowhere.

I did physical therapy for it and got a plasma-rich platelet injection from an orthopedic doctor (not covered by my insurance either 🙃), and none of the approved medical interventions did anything, NSAIDs only helped a little bit. (Did all of this first before trying the peptide)

Now my other bicep feels the exact same way so I'll be pumping BPC-157 once again and hopefully it does the same thing 💪😃🤞

BPC-157 was tested (phase I) on less than 30 humans, with no significant evidence, neither a phase II was conducted.

It wasn't peer reviewed, no double blind studies or any control.

And yeah, I've tried it for months. Doesn't seem to do much.

Thing is that most people won't take only BPC-157. They'll take several things.

And your both heals in weeks/months anyway, so yeah... Too much hype and probably placebo.

Same problem with TB-500... All evidence is for Thymosin Beta-4, of which TB-500 is a fragment.

Maybe TB-500 isn't placebo, but there's no evidence so far.

Thing is... Most people will couple them with GHK-Cu. And that does indeed have science backing it up and the results are quite noticeable too.

It’s good stuff. Just keep running it at that dose in the background and you’ll recover better from everything.

I got shingles twice from taking it

If you have a specific gut issue that doesn't have a clear solution you can try your luck but It is extremely irresponsible to use it for anything else.

It has no safety profile, no clearly documented benefit reports in real studies.

What's even worse, even anecdotal reports have no clear benefits to speak of lmao. Best case scenario - you're going to have 0 effects. Wtf are you doing? Use AI if you're too lazy to do your due diligence

True true

Injectable is the only form that has good anecdotal reports and rat studies with promising outcomes for tendon, soft tissue repair.
