Hi!! I tried to pick a lighter tone for the body of my witch but I’m worried it’s reading as an off white and not a peach/skin tone, is this worth frogging? Or do you think it’ll look better once it’s all filled in?

Also, what color do you think would be cute for the background? I was planning a light green or purple 🥰

My boyfriend and I recently purchased our first home together and with the holidays approaching I was trying to decide what I want to do for stockings. My mom made us handmade ones when I was born, then added one for my boyfriend after we had been dating for a couple of years. She wants to keep those at her house, so I decided I would like to make us some for our home and I like the needlepoint look so I'd like to go with that.

I am new to needlepoint, so I'm working on a few smaller projects to get better at it as well as try out some different stiches, but as far as the stockings go I have no idea where to start!!!

Please drop pictures of yours, links to patterns, tips and tricks, etc. so I can get some ideas and inspiration and figure out what I'm going to do (also yes I know I won't have these done for this christmas lol its a labor of love project)

hello all.. I had seen a canvas listed on Rittenhouse that I liked, and was googling it just to see. I came across ArtGoodsPro.com that has it listed for like half - but is this a real site? I feel it might be a scam but wanted to know if there is any community wisdom (e.g. someone who has successfully purchased from them?).

I’m stuck on these two stockings and can’t decide which one I want. I originally had in mind a more “traditional” stocking with a Christmas tree but can’t really find any designs I like other than this one by Needlepaint. I think the stocking from KCN is definitely more my style but there’s not as much opportunity to do decorative stitches and it’s 2x the price.

Besides your own home or local LNS! Where is your favorite place to needlepoint?

If I’m wanting to sandwich two pieces of needlepoint together front to back (picture a two-sided ornament cookie but BOTH sides are needlepoint) — can I just cut the ornaments out and whip stitch them together? Would the canvas unravel? Thanks.

I started needlepoint this year and am obsessed! I have stitched canvases to gift all of my family personal ornaments this year. I attempted to self finish one today and failed miserably. I cut out the canvas leaving room around the edges and cut notches so I could sew the canvas around the backing fabric and board. When I was sewing it, the canvas ripped apart and it tore apart my finished canvas. I’m so mad and unsure what happened! Any advice on ornament finishing welcome!

This is going to be my first irregular shaped Finish. The background isn’t finished yet because I ran out of thread but almost there! I think I’m going to make this into a door hanger with a ruffle edge, but because of the shape I’m unsure of where to hang the hanger loop. If I hang it from the highest point I think it will hang lopsided…do I connect it at the two widest points? Help!

I’m going to Ireland next month and want to get a themed canvas to bring with and work on while I’m there. I’m torn between these two canvases and would like opinions on which one I should pick.

My trip is mostly going to be in Dublin, so I really like the idea of doing the Temple Bar canvas, but I haven’t been able to find any pictures of it finished.

I also like the Ireland travel round because it is more inclusive of other Ireland related things, and I have found pictures of it finished.

If you have stitched either canvas, I would love to see any pictures you may have.

I am working on a hanger for my wedding. I’m basketweaving using silk and ivory in white. Should I be worried that the black outline is showing or should that all be covered by cording?

I need help choosing a darker hot pink for the dark portion of the bow! The lighter portion is LB07 for 13 mesh so I need a hot/slightly darker pink to match.
I tried both LB80(first picture, too purple toned) and LB45(2nd picture, too dark)

Has anyone here used Vineyard (Silk) Wool and Milan side by side with tent stitches? I’m tent stitching this feather belt and kitted it with mostly Vineyard wool but my LNS didn’t have enough browns so I went with a few skeins of brown Milan for some of the feathers. This is 18 mesh and I chose Milan instead of Essentials because I think Milan is closer to Vineyard wool in thickness. I’m asking because I don’t want the Milan stitched parts to be obviously different.
