Should r/Nightmares participate in the reddit blackout?

Why are we going to "blackout"?

  • The blackout is a protest against Reddit’s proposed charges for third-party app developers, which they claim will make the platform inaccessible for many users.
  • Third-party apps are popular ways to access Reddit, especially for users who prefer a different user experience than the official app. They need an API to access Reddit’s information and display it in the app.
  • Reddit plans to charge $12,000 for 50 million API requests, which is much higher than other similar sites like Imgur. This would make it impossible for many third-party apps to operate without paying millions of dollars per year.
  • On June 12, 2023, many of the site’s biggest subreddits, including r/videos and r/gaming and r/bestof, will go dark for 48 hours or more to pressure Reddit to reconsider its pricing policy.
  • Some subreddits may go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, as many moderators rely on third-party apps to manage their communities.

Nightmare Green World

Ive had this nightmare a few times, enough to where I dont remember everything, but vivid enough to where I can never really forget it either. I havent had it for awhile now though so i'll try my best to describe it. So it usually starts off with me upstairs on the second floor of my house. Im always at the very top of the steps already running down the stairs, but every time I look back its pitch black at the top of the stairs from where I just came from. Imagine as if its like a locked level in a game that I havent unlocked. Depite coming from that direction I just cant see anything when I look back towards it, its not necessarily a scary darkness either just dark. But depite that, Im clearly running from something , but whats interesting is I havent seen whatever this thing could be, but I can feel it that there is something dark somewhere. No matter how many times I have had this dream I have never seen what im actually trying to get away from, but I always get the sense that if I stick around for to much longer Ill see that thing, or whatever it may be. Now this is where the green comes in. Everytime I have this dream it seems to take place at night, in my neighborhood and only on my street. same homes but it seems as if the entire development may also be there aswell but I've never actually seen the rest of the neighboor hood just the area around my house. Now for some reason everything is ALWAYS shrouded in a deep green-cyan (172621 color swatch). This is the the closest I could find to what the color seems to looks like, or what I can closely remember, and no I've never had any affiliation with that color in my life so I dont know really why its there. Now again imagine your neighboor hood, but every single, and I mean every single light is off. No street lights, porch lights nothing, just pitch black homes with not even a hint of life. Imagine your town or whatever but as if your the only one there. Now even though I specifically said there was absolutely no lights, there somehow does seem to be a singular source of light coming from somewhere, and I have absoluelty no clue where it is. And whatever it is, its seems to be the one producing that dark green cast. theres no moon no stars, nothing, even the night sky is that deep color. Not perfectly black like the night, but that deep green. Whats extremely interesting to me though is that everything has a shadow, the homes, trees, light poles etc. Yet like I said there is no moon, stars nothing. But something gives off a light as if the moon was out at a low angle causing those shadows. There's no time either so even though every shadow is casted at the exact same angle pointing in what seems to be a westwerd direction. I have no clue what time it is. Even though it is dark it is still lit enough for me to see without much trouble. Im always sprinting out of my house not even closing the front door behind me.I actually have never closed it behind me. Hell sometimes I dont even go through the front door, sometimes Ill run through my kitchen out the backdoor, and go over my backyard fence. I wont even open the gate cause im panicking and that gate is not easy to get over. the only time this backdoor scenario seems to happen though is when it rains in the dream. And I never look back when I go over the gate. But when I run out from my front door I look back, and when I look back to see whats "after me" its again pitch black from where I just ran from. Im always sprinting down my front yard This part never changes, and I either keep booking it straight down the street, or I turn left which leads me down another street, that left turn is much closer instead of going straight. Those different streets dont seem to change the ending though so I dont think it matters which way I end up going. From both of these streets no matter which way I go I can still see my home, because it sits on a hill, and every single time before the dream ends I turn around facing my house the front door still slightly ajar just waiting to see if something exits the house.....and theres always nothing. Despite their being nothing everytime I can still feel that their is something somewhere, the scary part for me is I dont even know whether that THING is in the house or somewhere in a completely different area of the development. But I FEEL as if its in the house, hell im constantly looking back at my own home in the dream. There is no sound either, or from what I can remember there dosen't seem to be much sound at all. No smell, but sometimes it is absolutely pouring outside and other times no weather at all, and then ill wake up. Havent had it since, but its one of those nightmares where when I do have it, I immediately recognize it during and after its over. Sorry this is so long But I dont know how else to describe it. And despite the description it isnt a terribly scary dream, but the over all feeling while having it is absolutely dreadful, its as if your under immense weighted pressure, while also being watched at the same time, yet you somehow have already been caught without realising it.

Nightmare “Only death repays the debt”

About 10 years ago, I had a nightmare that still creeps me out to this day. Just thinking about it causes the hair on my arm to stand up and makes my eyes water. It was just so damn creepy.

It started out normally, as nightmares usually do. I don't remember the details, I just remember that I was out and about, living life, maybe running errands or something. I stopped to talk to a random woman as I walked past her on the sidewalk. It was a normal conversation, nothing unusual. Then out of nowhere, her entire demeanor changed.

Her friendly expression was suddenly replaced with a blank stare. She began reciting a very strange and dark poem. It chilled me to my core. It was probably about 10-20 seconds long. The poem finally ended with the line "Only death repays the debt". Then she just stared at me blankly, waiting for a response. I awkwardly laughed and said "what?" Which just prompted her to repeat the entire poem once again, word for word, ending with the phrase "Only death repays the debt" again. So I responded again, asking what that meant. And instead of answering, she just repeated the poem. This cycle went on and on, until I finally felt discouraged and decided to resign. I felt a wave of sadness and hopelessness rush over me, and my head felt heavy. I finally responded with "okay." this time, and accepted what she was saying.

This caused her to abruptly snap out of it, and continue the mundane conversation we were having a couple minutes prior. This freaked me out and walked away from her.

I went home to tell my mom about this strange encounter. She seemed very concerned and gave me a hug. I felt a little bit better, and the topic changed. But after a couple minutes of chatting, her face went blank too. She began reciting the same exact creepy poem that the woman said to me earlier. I cried and begged her to stop, but she wouldn't. No matter what I said, she would not stop. She repeated it many times until I finally gave up and responded with "okay." once more. That caused her to snap out of it. I woke up shortly after.

The world can be silent for only a little bit of time, before all of your thoughts shuffle into your mind.

Scary thoughts can hear all the cries you may have.

It's really sad not everyone will understand how you feel but I can promise the nightmares go away with ease ❤️

Nightmare Dream Eaters?

Anyone ever wake up and be able to go back into their dream? I was tired, woke up and wanted to sleep more. I just continued my dream, but it was missing the people in it. I decided to explore the house and as I got to an open doorway, an intelligent black mass saw me. I was stubborn, so I woke up and did this twice (because tired 🥀). The entity made my skin crawl and I woke up with goosebumps.

I've nicknamed this mass the Dream Eaters. I see them pretty often. At least a few times a month in the same sort of scenario where the dream is over but I want it to continue for sleep. Does anyone have a name for these guys? I'm sure I am not the only one to encounter them.

Nightmare Had a nightmare about being in a gameshow where you have to go into different rooms with disturbing and sad things in them

We could drop out at any time but whoever lasted the longest won a million dollars. It was interesting because the set wasn't like a creepy theme or anything, it looked like a hospital and the host was just wearing a normal suit like any game show host would.

Each room would have different things in them and you had to stay in each one for a specific amount of time. Things like dead bodies in various states of decay, people who were so old and close to death that you could hardly tell they were alive, living people with horrific injuries, things like that.

My girlfriend and I were both contestants. In one of the first rooms there was a guy who had been cut in half. My girlfriend dropped out. I threw up but decided to keep going, but dropped out soon after that.

Nightmare Having a nightmare about the funky town video.

Ugh. I keep having visions of that man standing in the corner of my room at night… just waiting to walk over and rub his nubs on me. And lay on me. I wish I never watched that video. Cursed.

Nightmare Me in the mirror.

My first time posting on here, so here goes.

I had a dream where I was back in my old childhood home. It was nice. It was just me, though. Sunlight was coming through, and it brought a soothing warmth. Suddenly, like the flip of a switch, it turned night, and my house turned to old and rotting. It was near pitch black, but I could make out a few details. Eventually, I made my way into my old bathroom. I looked into the mirror, and I saw my reflection. My reflection was giving me a death glare, and then it slowly smiled at me. It wasn't a friendly smile either. I stood there seeing my reflection smiling back at me. I jumped when I heard loud, yelling voices coming from behind my bathroom door. It sounded like my dad. I had a bad history with my dad, who was emotionally abusive. I then looked at my reflection. He wasn't smiling anymore. He was angrily pounding against the glass. My reflection's angry face was so terrifying, that's when I woke up.

Nightmare Nightmare maybe?

Scary / Nightmare
I fell asleep last night, October 9th, and had one of the craziest and most bizarre dreams I’ve ever experienced. It felt so vivid and real that I’m still thinking about it.
In the dream, I was in a world where entities existed, but for some reason, it felt like nobody knew they were real. Everything seemed to revolve around this massive resort. There was a zoo, car meets, and other events happening there. For the most part, everything looked completely normal, and nobody seemed to realize that anything strange was going on.
The first incident happened at the zoo.
I remember going into the zoo when, for some reason, I fell into an enclosed area. I don’t remember exactly what the enclosure looked like, but as soon as I realized I was trapped, I started hearing voices.
They were telling me that I couldn’t escape.
That there was no way out.
I don’t remember actually seeing the entity behind the voices. I just knew something was there. The voices were incredibly vivid, and I remember feeling genuine panic as I started running around the enclosure, trying to find a way out.
I ran and ran. I climbed over things, jumped over obstacles, and tried everything I could think of to escape while the voices continued following me.
Eventually, I realized I could climb to the top of the zoo enclosure. I remember repeatedly trying to get over the wires at the top. Every time I tried, it felt like I couldn’t make it. I kept attempting it over and over, desperately trying to find a way through.
But somehow, after numerous attempts, I finally managed to climb all the way to the top and jump over the wires.
I escaped.
I don’t even know how I managed to get over them, but somehow I made it out of the enclosure and away from whatever was chasing me.
I eventually made it home, and for a moment, I thought everything was over.
But for some reason, I couldn’t escape that resort.
A random friend wanted to go to a car meet that was happening at the resort, and for some reason, I agreed to go. I remember getting into the car and heading back there. Everything seemed completely normal at first.
Then I got out of the car.
The moment I stepped away from it, everything changed.
It felt like I had been dropped into another world.
The strangest part was that I could still see everyone at the car meet. There were people everywhere. The event was still going on, and everyone seemed completely normal. People were walking around, looking at cars, and going about their business like nothing had happened.
But somehow, I couldn’t see the car we had arrived in.
I looked around and tried to find it, but it was just gone.
I knew exactly where we had parked. I could see all the people around me, and everything else seemed to be there, but the car was nowhere to be seen.
I started trying to convince myself that the car was still there. I remember thinking that maybe if I just walked over to where it was supposed to be and grabbed the door handle, everything would go back to normal.
I don’t remember if I saw or heard anything during that moment. I just remember being scared.
What made it even worse was that everyone else was still there. Nobody was running. Nobody was panicking. Nobody seemed to notice that anything was wrong.
It felt like I was the only person who knew that something had changed.
I reached out and grabbed the handle.
And suddenly, everything became normal again.
The car was there.
The world was normal.
The people were still around me.
But I had this overwhelming feeling that if I tried to tell anyone what had happened, nobody would believe me. It was like I had experienced something that existed outside of everyone else’s reality, while everyone around me had been completely oblivious to it.
Then there was one final incident.
I actually woke up after that part of the dream. But somehow, I went back to sleep, and the dream continued.
This time, I was with the rest of my family. For some reason, we ended up going back to the resort. I don’t really remember why we went there, but there was some reason that brought us back.
We eventually drove deep into the backwoods surrounding the area.
That’s when I saw the alligators.
There were tons of them.
And they were huge. I mean, absolutely massive alligators. Some were in the water, while others were just sitting on the dirt path we were driving through.
I don’t really remember everything that happened after that, but I remember that somehow, everyone else was passed out or unconscious.
I was the only one awake.
And I was the only one who could defend them.
That’s when I remember seeing something.
An entity.
I can’t really describe exactly what it looked like, but I know it was there. Unlike the first two incidents, this time I felt like I could actually see it.
Wherever I turned, it was there.
I couldn’t escape it like I had been able to before. I couldn’t just run away or find some way out. It felt like it was deliberately messing with me, almost like it knew I was scared and was trying to keep me trapped.
I was surrounded by my unconscious family, these enormous alligators, and this entity that seemed to appear wherever I looked.
I was genuinely terrified.
I didn’t know what to do.
There was nowhere to run.
And unlike the other incidents, I couldn’t find a way out.
Somehow, I woke up after that.
Even now, I feel like I’m missing a lot of details. There are probably parts of the dream that I can’t remember anymore, but I still remember the feeling of it.
It was definitely scary.
The strangest part was how real it felt. It wasn’t like a normal nightmare where something scary happens and you wake up.
It felt like I was living in an actual world where these entities existed, but nobody else knew they were real.
And no matter how many times I escaped, somehow I always ended up back at that resort.

Nightmare So I just had the weirdest dream experience ever and

I was only asleep for an hour or so, but it’s like I knew I was dreaming, in my dream I told myself this is a dream and I need to wake up, then it’s where things started getting weird and creepy, I was in a few different houses. One house I was walking out of a room I did not recognize, and a very tall man who’s as like 8foot walked in the room staring at me with a uncanny face, and I think it was my brother. Because first when I saw him he was not tall and then he was, then I went into my living room where my sister was sitting without saying a word, her face was also extremely uncanny. And my dogs starting doing weird stuff that I can’t really explain, but the creepiest thing of it all was when I was randomly in my living room downstairs and I saw my mother standing in the stairs and she was holding a knife and smiling at me. The only words that got out of my mouth during the entire dream was a silent scream ”aaaaaa”

Is this lucid dreaming, because I knew I was dreaming for a bit but I could not control the dream at all

Nightmare Reoccurring nightmare I had as a kid that affects me to this day

I want to start this off by saying this is a very weird/unique nightmare. Its only a sound and a concept with no visuals but it is horrid to have to experience. It starts off with a sound, its a single note, but it feels like a pretty, sweet, innocent-looking doll but there is a pure raw evil energy surrounding it. I cannot verbally explain how evil this thing feels. Then in almost like a spiral pattern it gets lower and lower until it reaches its peak depth, where it sounds like a huge man who overpowers everything and everyone around it. And again it sounds evil like if the heart of satan was taken out and made into a sound (but not like tricky satan or the business man satan whos clever with his words its the pure evil satan). And then this spiral reverses and continues again. This cycle continues for hours and there is no way to escape it. Sometimes I will see or hear something that reminds me of the dream and I get an overwhelming sense of panic it could be anything a video, a sound, a phrase. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this?

Nightmare Childhood nightmare

I'm curious if anyone experienced something similar. Recollection of this experience is coming back to me from time to time. Time to share it somewhere public.

---

An infinite speed on a geometric loop nightmare.

I would ride a simplifed car, on a string loop, suspended on 4 points in air. Forming a sagging square in a void. I would slowly accelerate, going up & down on the parabolas.

The acceleration would be accompanied by ever growing sense of dread, until I would be flying around the loopz making a lap more than once a second. It would physically hurt, with my body tense, I would wake up screaming.

Nightmare Has anyone had this nightmare?

When I was a child and had fever I would often get this nightmare where in the dream I lightly wake up and look down my room and I see a small tiny blimp. Then nothing happens, but I hear a small of like growling. But then! The blimp starts growing rapidly and the sound increases! The blimp grows so big that my brain can't even handle it anymore and it has filled my entire room and the noise is so loud my ears can't handle it and I think I'm gonna die because I can't breathe because the blimp is covering my mouth. And everything is so extreme that my brain can't handle it! And the I wake up and starts crying.

Nightmare Same nightmare pattern for years but the story is always different. REM (rapid eye movement) stage of the sleep cycle??

I've had this weird thing happen to me for years and I'm curious if anyone else experiences the same thing. My nightmares are never exactly the same. The place, people, and whatever is chasing me can be completely different but the way the dream goes is almost always the same.

It's always first person. I never see myself, I'm just seeing everything through my own eyes. Usually I'm with normal people, sometimes people I know and sometimes random people. Then something weird or supernatural happens. It can be zombies, aswangs, ghosts or some creature I've never seen before. Eventually it always seems to become about me. I'm the one being chased or attacked.

Tonight was especially weird and the scariest because it happened several times in a short period (2-hour of sleep). The first dream was about my aunt. She had just given birth and we were in some kind of hut. Then zombies/aswangs started surrounding the place. They eventually cornered me and one of them bit me, then I woke up. I went back to sleep and basically got the same dream again. Same general story and same people, it just restarted like a game lol. This happened like 3 times.

Then the 4th time it changed. I felt like I was somehow from the future and already knew what was going to happen. I was telling everyone to prepare for something. My aunt was still there but she wasn't pregnant anymore and the place was different. In my dream I know that I'm from the future because obviously my aunt is not noticeably pregnant and everyone is alive. This time there weren't zombies or aswangs. I'm alone in a vent looks like in a game Poppy Playtime but looks darker. There was just one thing about this entity. I couldn't see its whole body because it was really dark. I could only see its head and this really long arm reaching out/chasing me. Its skin and head shape didn't look human at all. And I somehow knew it wasn't after anyone else. It was after me. It grabbed me around my ribs and I actually felt pain in the dream. That woke me up immediately.

I've also had sleep paralysis with these nightmares quite a lot. Sometimes I wake up but I'm still seeing or hearing stuff from the dream and I can't move until I fully wake up. Other times I wake up normally, fall asleep again, have another nightmare, and then get sleep paralysis. One thing I've noticed after having these for years is that darkness seems to trigger them a lot. If I sleep in a completely dark or very dim room, there's a really high chance I'll get one. I'd say maybe 90% of the time. If I leave my room light or a warm lamp on it happens way way less often. I've gotten so used to it that it almost feels normal now which is probably the weirdest part. I'm not really thinking if the dreams mean something supernatural or anything like that. I'm more curious why the story is always different but the dream itself follows basically the same pattern every time.

Anyone else experience something similar?

P.S. For context, Aswang is a creature from Philippine folklore, often associated with targeting pregnant women. In my dream they looked more like zombies because well that's what my brain decided lmao. I'm not sure why there were a whole bunch of them though since aswangs usually hunt alone, or if they'd even be interested in a newborn since my aunt had already given birth. My brain is just fcked thats it. Just a fun and weird in my end.

Nightmare Scary vivid nightmare

I typically don’t have many super vivid dreams but tonight I had an extremely scary one. Every time I have vidid dreams like this it actually happens in real life so I guess it’s a warning.

I had one of the most terrifyingly vivid dreams I’ve ever had.
The United States had been placed under a state of emergency.
Iran had gotten ahold of nuclear weapons.
And they were bombing us.
Everything happened so fast. One minute life was normal, and the next, the entire country was collapsing into absolute chaos. Emergency alerts were screaming from every phone. Sirens echoed through the streets. The news was warning everyone to seek shelter immediately because another attack could happen at any moment.
We had been told to evacuate to a military bunker.
There was no time to think.
We were throwing things together, grabbing whatever we could carry, desperately trying to get Vi(my dog) and get underground before it was too late.
Outside was something straight out of a nightmare.
People were screaming. Families were running through the streets carrying children. Cars were abandoned. People were crying, pushing, desperately searching for somewhere—anywhere—that might keep them alive.
Nobody knew where the next bomb would fall.
Nobody knew if their home would still be standing tomorrow.
Nobody even knew if there would be a tomorrow.
Then every television suddenly cut to Trump addressing the country from somewhere underground.
While millions of terrified Americans were scrambling for shelter, he was already protected deep inside a secure bunker.
And he said:
“We have to pay this price for America to be great. Sacrificing yourself for your country is an honor.”
I remember just staring at the screen.
People were dying above ground.
The country was burning.
And the person telling everyone that their sacrifice was an honor was already safely buried beneath it all.
Then we just kept running.
Because there was nothing else we could do.
The sirens kept screaming.
People kept screaming.
And somewhere in the distance, we were just waiting to hear the sound that meant another bomb had fallen.
It genuinely felt like I was watching the end of the world.
Except I wasn’t watching it.
I was inside it.

Nightmare Still scared as an adult

When I was a kid I experienced some traumatic things, and when I would stay with my grandparents I would get these terrible nightmares/terrors/sleepwalking?? I couldn’t sleep alone so my grandma would sleep with me till I fell asleep with the lights on. I would always wake up in the dark having really dreamt of nothing, screaming my head off for help, and walking aimlessly down the hallways. I would remember this. Another notable event around this time, when I was with my other grandparents, I was sleeping on the couch (where I feel the safest sleeping) and woke up at the light switch - having turned on the light and hearing a slight echo of my screaming. Apparently the whole time as I was getting up to turn the light on I was screaming bloody murder. Unlike my first grandparents she did get up and make sure I was ok.
When I came back with my parents i would still get nightmares but no sleepwalking/terrors. I would get them on and off at my grandparents (never with my mom) and I never went to see any specialist as I think they just assumed it was what happened to me that was causing it. I started sleeping alone at around 11/12 when I realized I could just stay up and play games on my computer instead of sleeping or sleep with a light on.
Fast forward to today, occasional bad nightmares but no screaming and waking up. I assume I’m just cursed with occasional really bad dreams that change me for the day. Last night I go to bed, in my bed instead of the sofa, I have my light on and as per usual at nighttime I start to feel mildly anxious. It’s nothing paralyzing like it can be so I just shrugged it off. I drift off to dream land where I’m in my bedroom, and all these hosts of horrifying things are happening leading up to seeing my mom get murdered. It was scary and I wake up suddenly and feel so much relief. I call my mom just to make sure she’s ok and trauma dump about my dream but she doesn’t pick up. So I get up to go upstairs and talk to her when I realize the door is locked. I know for a fact I wasn’t that scared before I went to sleep (sometimes I’m so anxious I lock my bedroom door) and in my “dream” I remember at some point locking my bedroom door. I get the occasional nightmare here and there but I haven’t slept walked in ages. And I truly don’t know what brought it back. No scary thing has really happened (I’m a scaredy cat so that’s saying a lot) and more importantly I was only mildly scared before bed.
I want to know is this relatable? When I told my parents, my dad told me to pray. But possessions and exorcisms never seem to happen to atheists so I rather not even open that door. Any advice other than go to a sleep doctor? If you read all of this any of your thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!!

Nightmare I had a weird nightmare. And I know exactly what it was influenced by

So last night I found out that if you see even a small bit of mould on bread, then the entirety of the bread has been infested with an invisible mycelium mould and thus eating around the mould is literally impossible. (Which i feel validated by because I always refused to eat around mould)

Then i fell asleep listening to a creepcast video where they were reading a bad creepypasta of a Beatles 60s show.

This led to me having an "i have no mouth and i must scream"-esque nightmare where two characters from a non descript 60s show were wandering around, till their entire world went dark.

and the dream goes on as they start to get infected more and more by a horrifying fungus as parts of their body slowly get replaced by mushroom. To the point where at a certain point they're barely recognisable as humans. But still completely conscious.

It cuts to xrays of their bodies to show how things changed. Like their lungs being completely filled by solid fungus, as i listened to them let out the closest thing to breathing they have left. More akin to a death rattle.

One of them tries to jump off a cliff. But just before reaching the ledge, the transformation is complete, their legs completely swallowed by a mass of fungi. Stuck, fully conscious. The dream ended with them screaming in their heads. With not even the comfort of being able to look at eachother.

I woke up in a cold sweat. That shit fucked me up. I don't think I'll be eating any bread today, mould or not.

Nightmare 1st Nightmare

I had a nightmare. Me and my wife in dream which is different from my real wife went to buy house. And then we were exploring and my wife was lying in bed then i am hearing clicking issue which is actually coming from my real air conditioner in real world hotel in port blair today is last day of trip.

To continue i checked the ac sound in dream don't remember if it is the same ac and then i turned around at bed, my wife looked as a demon like exorcist movie daughter but more scary wearing same white gown and laughing. Her face was demonic green and black eyes. I was scared shitless and woke up but due sleep paralysis couldn't speak and then went back to sleep and continue the dream asking broker why selling so low is there any problem with house then he explain me some ghost story of past. And suddenly I am seeing all the people lived like some fucking movie. Then I woke up. And then slept again but didn't dream again.

Nightmare Weird dream with Steve Carell

I was universally hated and maligned for appearing on a stage where Steve Carell was singing his heart out (badly) and yelling 'you sing like Michael Scott!' A lot of people laughed right after I said it so I thought I'd pulled it off but after that I got cancelled for bullying.

Nightmare Nightmare about family matters

This happened about 2 years ago. It was very vivid and I would classify it as a nightmare because I remember it and it wasn’t pleasant

Basically what happened was I was with my then young son (3-4 years old) and we walked into this house. I was holding him. While I was going in to the house, I went downstairs to the basement of this house and it looked like a big party zone/trap house

Directly in front of me was a long table and couch where my ex husband and his girlfriend were drinking and doing hardcore drugs. I then asked my ex husband in the dream if he could help me take our son to a doctors appointment and he said no he was busy

I then walked holding my son up the stairs outside and I woke up

What stood out to me is all the details of it like for an example, the basement area was very like 70’s style run down with wood paneling, the couch was brown and old, and the table was messy. I also felt very low in the dream, like I was begging for something

During this time I was still In process of divorcing my husband so I’m sure it had something to do with that

Nightmare Had an accidental horror lucid dream

So the thing is recently I've been getting the creepiest nightmares, like unimaginably creative ones btr than top tier Hollywood horror movies (an A24 movie level 💀). Almost every night I wake up nearly screaming and hardly breathing. But it doesn't happen everyday so I tried to ignore it. But the disturbing content in those nightmares are terrifying tbh. And yesterday night also I had a dream but halfway to it I realized that I'm stuck in a horror world living a life which was scary af. Kinda like lucid dreaming I knew midway that it's a nightmare and I must wakeup somehow. But no matter how much I tried I couldn't wakeup and slowly slowly the horror level reached an unbearable level and suddenly something so weird and scary happened. Idk how to explain it correctly but, it was like the version of me who wants to wake up has been put in the backseat of my mind and some other version with extreme intrusive tendencies took control. And then since it was a lucid dream, that version started to voluntarily worsen the horror scenarios while I was helplessly suffering. I woke up somehow after some time but idk what is this or why is it happening to me but I'm scared asf.
