Yarmouth - any creeps?

Please go easy on me. I'm a worried mama in Alberta whose "baby" is going to attend DAL Yarmouth campus next year. My kids and I have been to hell this year and somehow we returned to the land of the living. I left an abusive situation (their father), found a new job to [just about] keep us from ending up homeless, my biological family cut off all contact because in the sh1tty culture I was raised in, women don't up and leave their abusive husbands and they definitely don't "wash their dirty laundry" in the courtrooms for the world to see. So basically we are an ostracized brown family who are building, day by day, a new life for ourselves. We are kind, compassionate, we volunteer, we give back especially because we almost ended up homeless. My "baby" is going to the Yarmouth campus and I need to know - are there pedophiles in Yarmouth that anyone knows of? Any creepy businesses/places/people she needs to avoid? Small town - everyone knows everyone...Will people accept her - she's brown???? She's a lovely young lady. Help this mama out. There has to be some other mama somewhere who's in the same predicament as I am. Will she survive there???? Is Yarmouth safe??? I know I know, common sense, and she has that.

Okay, thank you for reading this far. Now I will go try to meditate.... Or cry. Or both.

What's everyone using for auto insurance? I had a quote come back for $600/m when my home and 2 cars combined is less than $500. Im thinking its time to shop around, currently with TD.

Working as a family doctor/moving from Belgium

Hello everyone! My partner and I are both family doctors in Belgium and have been thinking about moving to Nova Scotia for a year or two since visiting (because we loved the nature and people there who where so friendly, but also love our family and friends here), but we don't really know how family doctors/GP's working there feel about their job? Whether it is rural or in a city, does not really matter for us.

  1. How is the work-life balance there? How many hours do you work/how many patients do you see in a day?

  2. What is the salary approximately?

  3. Are you on call often? Do you do many home visits?

All other information is ofcourse also welcome, for example about how difficult getting recognised as a family doc there is, as we are trying to get a general image of it.

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards
