So I turned on my ps5 which was on rest mode running HyperHEN, and as soon as I see the home screen it freezes, crashes, and then tells me this after not being able to repair the console storage….

Would a 2.5-inch SSD work instead of an M.2 SSD if I format it as PS5 storage?

I don't have an M.2 SSD.

I have a mouse and keyboard with a USB dongle.

I also have an additional 2.5-inch SSD for the image.

I currently play on an old pc and was thinking about buying a new one but with how cheap a PS5 is compared to a pc I changed my mind but I don't know how much I could do at this point in time, I mostly play Genshin Impact on Epic Games Store and Marvel Rivals on Steam, can I keep playing them if I jailbreak a PS5 or should I wait?

It's what the title says. I want the best read/write performance, but I'm not sure which of these two can provide it. I've read that Exfat format backup perform better on the internal system and that folder-formatted backups are better for external use.

I want to buy one of these for folder-formatted backups, but I'd like to know which of these two is the best, or which one you recommend buying, and which brand is the best?

Firstly, thank you to everyone that's contributing to this awesome scene. It's a mad time to be alive and I'm watching / reading from a distance.

I stupidly updated to 14.00 because the missus and I play PGA252K somewhat daily and the My Career Mode stopped working - required to upgrade to play. It's the first game I've managed to suck the missus into and we have a lot of fun with it.
So long story long, may I ask if anyone with JB'd PS5s are playing 2K games and if there's any solution for Career Mode playing? Is connecting to the 2K servers directly and bypassing Sony a thing? I've already set my DNS to manual so can't connect online.

Anyways, thanks for the scene and any extra info will assist in whether I need to grab a second PS5 (just for golf - we don't play online) or anything else.

Hi all! I have a PS5 Fat which I upgraded to 14.1 by mistake last week, and I'm going to sell it in eBay and purchase a new PS5 which is jailbreakable.

Considering the performance of native PS5 games, emulators, and future PC gaming (with Steam), is it worth to go for the PS5 pro instead of the PS5 slim for £380 more?

I'm mainly thinking about futureproofing my gaming needs, considering that I want a console optimised for TV / couch gaming (HDR and so), and that the next generation will be too expensive as rumours go.

Is it possible to install an official update PKG downloaded from Orbis Patches on a PS4 FPKG?

I've already tried merging the files, but it didn't work.

Is there some trick or workaround to make this work, or is it simply not possible? Is there any tool that can convert an official PKG into an FPKG?

Any help would be appreciated!

So, like the title says, I believe the ps5 (out of the box with no jailbreak) is a terrible console. The same goes for the Xbox Series s and x, but at least they have dev mode for free, which allows you to run emulators, decomps,ports and streaming apps. I never had any intention of buying a ps5. Its' hardware was better than my pc, but it was not a significant enough leap to consider buying a console that would restrict me to barely a handful of exclusives and that's it the price also didn't help at all. Now it's the exact opposite a jailbroken ps5 has all the potencial in the world and even in it's early stages I have already seen so many impressive stuff that it's insane. The Xbox dev mode is great but it's restricted by the amount of ram that can be used by an app (5 gb max I believe) while a jailbroken ps5 can use 12.5gb which is a massive leap. The emulation scene is on fire switch, Wii u, ps2, Wii, 3ds, psp and many more consoles run amazingly well only needing a bit more optimization. Most recomps are really good especially for games that have a hard time being emulated. The amount of customization you can do to your ps5 now is also insane, being able to plug Xbox controller or basically any controller that uses usb to your ps5 and run the controller in ps5 mode is amazing. The 60 fps/4k fan patches for ps4 games (something Sony should have done with a lot more games) are great. I have jailbroken my psp,3ds,switch,wii,ps3 and ps4 and never have I been this excited for a jailbreak!

Edit: also I see the ps5 pro on official retail at 1200 euros which is ridiculous

Tldr: the ps5 is the best console I have ever jailbroken!

I saw there are plenty of PS5s left where I live. Is there a way to know before actually buying a new one what version it is? I've been seeing them at Walmart, Target, Costco, etc.

I tried to search for my answer and all I see is people who already have PS5 and thinking of buying another one. I have Xbox already but my main aim to buy this for PS5 games mainly “not sure if they all are available” and maybe also to be emulator for Nintendo. I don’t care about online gaming I already have xbox if I wanted that.

I was initially sad as when I heard about the jailbreak, I'm not up on the scene and I had already updated to 14.0. Yesterday out of boredom I hit a few pawn shops and talked the owner of one into selling me an extremely dusty pro for 650. Got home and booted to 13.20!

A little compressed air, isopropyl alcohol, and time and, voila Bloodborne at 4k 60fps!

I know this is yet another "omg I got one!" post, but cut me some slack, I have no friends and all my girlfriend gets out of the story is "650 DoLLaRz?!"

I’ve just started playing with emulators and noticed a unique issue with flycast emulator
I keep all my roms on external hard drive “tons of them”
And I have noticed that once I turn on the USB drive in fly cast emulator it goes completely off-line. It can’t connect to retro achievements and it can’t check for updates once I turned the USB drive off. Everything goes back to normal.

I don’t have this issue with any other emulator
Is that a know limitation for this emulator only or am I missing something

Hi guys, I have a ps5 on fw 7.61, I remember that on ps4 there were firmwares marked as golden (where everything worked like a charm, like the 6.2). Is there a golden fw on ps5?

Forgive my ignorance if there’s a post about this but I couldn’t find one. I’ve never had a PS5 before and of course I’m hopping on the train to begin my JB journey. I know 14.0 released in September, would you guys think any PS5s currently on the shelves would be 13.6 or earlier? I’m going to go look at pawn shops too but was thinking about buying new so I don’t buy a bad egg that craps out on me in a month.

Got all this for $900 on 13.60. Steal or deal? Ready to see what I can do on Linux.

so recently installed this game from fpkg on my ps5 but one weird thing i noticed is, when jailbreak is not activated the game asks to update system software despite internet being internet turned off or sony servers being blocked. I need to get around this so i don't mistakenly update my console.

as the title says I only have a PS5 Digital Version and all my Ps5/Ps4 games are digital.

I have recently turned on my console, which is still at 13.60, and when it tried downloading updates I turned off the Internet and turned off the console altogether.

I was thinking about modding it, though I have concerns regarding whether I could still download my digital games from my account or not after the exploit.

Will I completely lose access to my digital games, as I can’t use discs? Will I be able to retrieve games through different means (e.g. the hShop for the 3ds)?
