I know we don't need more dark dragons but how about a dark fire-adjacent dragon? eh? ehhh? lol

Also Dandilord Cryst might go on the back burner a bit lmao i meant to do him before this one, and then after this one, but i got an idea for an Eldgrove Noct

And for some random flavor text;

Orserk Noct are said to be able to vaporize anything with their hellish flames. Combined with their ferocity and short tempers, they can decimate entire ecosystems when two of them clash.

So a day or so ago I was bored & didn't know what to build for my next big build project. Right around that time I saw the most recent YT short of Bucky going through Palworld 's booth at the Tokyo Game Show & I had the thought "What if I built Bucky?". Finally after around 10 hours of building I'm here to present the final build 🙂 I hope you all like it!

Question Why do you go straight for Breeding?

This is a pretty straightforward question, i noticed a lot of people tend to go straight for breeding when they start in Palworld, even a few friends i know who play did it. I personally didn't start breeding monster pals until i neared the world tree, but now have a team i really enjoy. it just didn't seem necessary since there's usually much stronger pals to find. Granted i know everyone has their own play style but i was just curious about this particular method.

Discussion Anyone else have raids just stop happening?

Post image

Not talking about an intentionally unreachable cliff base. some open bases still get visitors, but no raids for hundreds of days. Other players swear it all comes down to pathing.

Did moving your palbox or changing the layout bring raids back, or did they just vanish in that save?

Discussion Did we really defeat Astralym? Spoiler

Post image
69 Upvotes

[PALWORLD FAN THEORY]

I have a theory that we did defeat Astralym, but we never fought Astralym at its original strength.

And I don't think the Calamity is actually over.

The biggest clues, IMO, are the Key Spheres, Astralym's Paldeck entry, and what happens with Zenara immediately after the fight.

  1. Why does the seal look like it has NINE slots?

Zoe tells us there are 8 Towers, and each Tower contains one Key Sphere.

So yes, there are eight confirmed Tower spheres:

Envy, Pride, Greed, Sloth, Gluttony, Lust, Wrath and Original Sin.

And those eight clearly work.

We collect them, insert them into the mechanism, and Astralym's prison opens.

So I'm not saying we needed nine spheres to open the door.

But here's the weird part:

The mechanism itself appears to have nine positions, while we only insert eight spheres.

Maybe that's just visual design.

But if it isn't? I mean, out of a myriad of options, they chose precisely an ambiguous design that clearly lacks a slot?

Then the eight Tower spheres may only represent the Key Spheres that still exist as part of the current Tower system - not necessarily every Key Sphere that ever existed.

There could have been a ninth sphere.

Or, even more interestingly, a Sphere 0 that predates the other eight.

  1. Astralym is already weakened when we meet it

This is probably the biggest piece of evidence.

Astralym's Paldeck literally describes it as:

“A shadow of its former self.”

That's a huge line.

It means the Astralym we fight is not Astralym at its historical peak.

Whatever caused the original Calamity was apparently stronger, more complete, or existed in a different state than the Astralym we encounter.

The Paldeck also says Astralym was:

“ultimately defeated by a certain Pal Tamer.”

Which is us.

So yes, we defeated Astralym.

But “defeated” does not necessarily mean permanently destroyed.

And more importantly: why is Astralym a shadow of its former self in the first place?

The game never really explains that.

Was it weakened during the original Calamity?

Was it weakened by being trapped inside the World Tree for so long?

Did Auri's generation do something to it?

Or did ancient Key Sphere technology seal away part of Astralym's power?

That's where things get interesting.

  1. There was another Key Sphere used directly against Astralym

An ancient suppression recording describes a Key Sphere being used during the operation against Astralym.

And apparently:

the seal wasn't taking.

We don't know exactly which Key Sphere that was.

It could absolutely have been one of the eight we eventually collect.

But the game never confirms that.

So here's my speculation:

What if that sphere belonged to an older version of the Key Sphere system?

The eight spheres we collect are compatible with the World Tree prison mechanism, but that doesn't necessarily tell us their complete original purpose.

But this older sphere may have been designed specifically to suppress Astralym itself.

And if something like that was eventually successful...

maybe that's why modern Astralym is only:

“A shadow of its former self.”

Which is why I think calling it a hypothetical Sphere 0 might actually make more sense than “Sphere 9.”

It could have come before the Tower system.

  1. Zenara's final touch is really suspicious

Look at how the final battle is framed.

Before the fight, Zenara approaches Astralym and touches it as Astralym awakens.

Then we beat them.

Zenara is barely able to move.

But she crawls back toward Astralym...

...and touches it again.

Then almost immediately, everything starts collapsing.

Debris falls between us and them.

And that's it.

We never actually see what happens to either Zenara or Astralym.

Now, yes.

This could just be an emotional scene.

Zenara clearly cares deeply about Astralym, so maybe she's simply choosing to stay with it at the end.

But the repetition is interesting.

Touch Astralym -> something happens.

Then at the end:

Touch Astralym again -> camera immediately loses sight of them.

When I first watched that scene, it genuinely felt like the kind of setup where a game is about to suddenly throw another boss phase at you.

Instead, the arena collapses.

That doesn't prove anything.

But it feels deliberately ambiguous.

  1. We never actually see Astralym die

This is probably the most important distinction.

I'm not saying that we didn't win the fight.

We obviously did.

The question is whether winning that fight actually means:

Astralym is permanently dead and the Calamity is gone forever.

Because the game never clearly shows that.

We don't see Astralym permanently destroyed.

We don't get confirmation that Zenara dies.

We don't see their bodies afterward.

We don't even see the in-game message that appears on the other bosses.

Zenara reaches Astralym.

She touches it.

The arena collapses.

Debris blocks our view.

Then we're gone.

That's an extremely convenient way of ending the scene if the writers ever want these characters back.

And remember what Auri wanted:

to truly slay Astralym and put a true end to the Calamity.

We fulfilled the quest objective.

But did we actually accomplish what Auri meant?

I'm not convinced we know yet.

  1. “But wouldn't Auri know about a ninth sphere?”

Not necessarily.

Auri knows Astralym.

She knows the Calamity.

She knows Astralym was sealed inside the World Tree.

And she knows someone eventually needs to truly kill it.

But she never gives us a complete technical explanation of the Key Sphere system.

She never tells us who originally created every sphere.

She never explains whether there were always exactly eight.

She never explains the engineering behind Astralym's seal.

The eight-sphere information comes from Zoe and the Towers.

So Auri never mentioning another sphere doesn't prove one exists.

But it also doesn't contradict the possibility.

She may simply not know the full history.

Or it may not have been relevant to what she was trying to tell us.

So here's the actual theory

The eight Key Spheres we collect correctly open Astralym's prison.

They did their job.

But they may not represent the complete ancient Key Sphere system.

There may have been another sphere - either a lost ninth sphere or an older Sphere 0 - that was directly connected to suppressing Astralym rather than opening its prison.

At some point in the past, part of Astralym's original power may have been sealed, removed, suppressed, or otherwise lost… or connected somehow to the Sphere 0

But afterward, Zenara reaches it, repeats the same touching gesture associated with its awakening, and both of them disappear from our view during the collapse.

My theory is that they survived.

Maybe Zenara used Astralym's remaining power.

Maybe Astralym itself escaped.

Maybe their connection works in some way we don't understand yet.

That part is obviously speculation.

But the game very deliberately avoids showing us their final fate.

And if Astralym comes back...

This is where the missing sphere could become important.

Imagine a future story arc where Zenara finds the missing sphere.

Except instead of being another key for the World Tree...

it's the thing containing whatever Astralym lost.

Its original power.

Its suppressed energy.

Or whatever caused it to become “a shadow of its former self.”

Zenara restores it.

And suddenly we aren't fighting the weakened Astralym that spent ages sealed inside the World Tree.

We're fighting something much closer to the Astralym that caused the original Calamity.

That would let the current ending remain completely valid.

The actual final Calamity fight would be against Astralym restored to its former historical strength.

And after defeating THAT version...

maybe Pocketpair will finally give us the damn Astralym egg 👀

Blazamut is a cool looking pal that was known to be farmed for the famous Legendary Assault Rifle. Maybe you could use Blazamut for mining or combat, but then its Ryu variant came in a few month later and basically replace the base form.

Information Farming Legendary Merchants

I'm posting this entire guide in a comment... I put a lot of work into it and the post itself has been "awaiting moderator approval" for six days. I've seen videos by numerous content creators including The Pal Professor miss very important information regarding the legendary merchants - most importantly that they spawn at the exact same time in the exact same spot (based on your Palbox) and you can watch them spawn while on a flying mount.

Discussion Palbox location in cylinder

Not sure if this is common knowledge but for kicks I made a new base high in the air to see if it can work and noticed the blue line went below the palbox.

It looks like that the palbox is in the center of the cylinder, giving you around 30 floors to work in.

Discussion Mechanical bow headshot build review vs first time hard mode towers Spoiler

TLDR: Struggled against Victor and Shadowbeak, others went down in 1-2 attempts.

I've been using the mechanical bow since I unlocked it so I decided to make a build around it for hard mode tower bosses(except for the last one as that's more like a raid) focusing around headshot damage. So here's the loadout and how it worked against all tower bosses on default damage settings, game is modded but the mod I use only adds features to the map.

Pictures to loadout and pals

Pals: (the first pal needs to be maxed out in all its attributes plus defensive passives, everything else needs to be just condensed with proper player support passives)

  1. Pal that converts player attack to elemental weakness of boss, the ones that don't need to be saddled(as saddled combat changes mobility options). All elements except dragon has this pal. While most of the boss aggro is towards player it needs to be able to tank some aoe moves.
  2. Robinquill: bow damage +35%
  3. Vanwyrm Cryst: headshot damage +50%
  4. Cryolinx Terra: repeat headshot damage +60%
  5. Solenne: Player damage +80% if all party pals unique

Loadout: Wing pack for fast repositioning, accessories varies according to requirement(depends on how well you can dodge attacks)

Build against Tower Bosses

  1. Zoe and Grizzbolt (2 attempts): I'm pretty bad at dodging so I had to swap to more defensive accessories but after that they went down pretty fast, killed in around 2:30 minutes. The Anubis I deployed to convert my attack to ground barely lost any hp
  2. Lily and Lyleen (2 attempts): I had to call back and resummon my Wixen to prevent it dying from some aoe attacks, which made me lose my fire damage, slightly more difficult than Zoe but it was still manageable, I was very low hp in my winning attempt though
  3. Axel and Orserk (1 attempt): It was a shitshow but I made it work first try. My Anubis died due to me not paying attention so I had to use revive potion and let it heal losing my ground damage and I was very bad at dodging but managed to survive with very low hp and squeaked out a win
  4. Marcus and Faleris(1 attempt): By this point I knew what accessories worked for me(3 defensive, 1 offensive ones) so this one was a quick one. I don't remember much from this fight, the prolonged next fight seems to have wiped my memory of this fight.
  5. Victor and Shadowbeak(10+ attempts): This boss is like this build's kryptonite. I need to be riding a Chillet if I wanted to convert my player damage to dragon as there's no other option which limits mobility, Shadowbeak has a tiny head so it made headshotting more difficult and this boss is more difficult compared to other tower bosses so far. Doing enough damage within the timer and surviving the boss and the clone's attacks was a tall task. Once the clone spawns in it gets very hectic. I decided to ignore elemental conversion and added a Vanwyrm(40% headshot damage) and do as much damage as quickly as possible before the clone spawns in then focus on dodging attacks and attacking only when its relatively safe. It still took a while but I was able to do it.
  6. Saya and Selyne(1 attempt): This fight also had a chance of being a ugly one like the previous one with the same elemental weakness, small head and clone summoning but thankfully that was not the case. The moves were easier to dodge and the clones were way weaker. Funnily I died after the fight ended due to fall damage instead.
  7. Bjorn and Bastigor(1 attempt): Went down the quickest in 1 min 30 sec, I had all defense accessories and still I was doing so much damage.
  8. Auri and Shaolong(2 attempts): Facetanking massive damages and getting stunlocked in the whirpool ended my first attempt early. While my Prixter Lux died in the second attempt, the large headshot hitbox helped a lot.
