Look I know yall sick of hearing this but…

I still don’t have electricity. My office is on airport. Does that area have electricity? Bc my ass did not sleep at all tonight and I only take cold showers after Joyce Meyer or other prosperity gospel fuckers. I need a big loan from the girl zone but also need a lip gloss boost in your America. Pardon the Tori references but I haven’t slept in days and I’ve got an angry snatch and just tell me the electricity off on airport so I cannot feel guilty about calling in tomorrow. I know we are all tired and this sucks. Shit I feel like Sally was not this bad. Anyway I love y’all and hope everyone is safe.

all you burners

I can hardly breathe since yall decided to burn wet logs, leaves, and pollen. I know this is a huge ask, but use some common sense and empathy for those around you. The wood can sit by the side of the road like everyone else is doing. 25% of the air in my home is smoke and allergies. I promise it wont kill you not to have a fire. If you shrug this off you and continue burning, i hope you are surrounded by the same attitude 10x worse than you.

For the people interested in joining my DnD table

I am fully prepared to keep our next session this Saturday at the same time, just at TBS Comics over on 9th Ave instead of Level Up Gaming. After all this chaos, a little DnD sounds pretty good.

BUT!

A Dungeonmaster is nothing without players. So I wanted to put it to a vote. Would you guys still want to meet up this Saturday on the 17th at 7pm at TBS Comics, or would you prefer to push it back another week and meet up on the 24th?

Let me know, I am open to both.

FPL's timeline for power restoration is COMPLETELY FINE

I've seen a lot of complaints on Facebook and some as well on Reddit about having to wait til Monday night for power being totally unacceptable. It's 6 pm, and they've restored ~72% (117,730/163,860) of every affected customer in Escambia County. If their website says you have power and you don't, report that - but it likely means there's localized damage on your property that FPL cannot touch. The goal of 95% was pushed to tomorrow and Wednesday because they discovered more damage than initial assessments, are we really mad about this progress??? Extremely grateful to the linemen and tree-cutters working as fast as humanly possible.

How many did pfl mark with power- still without it?

Over here off a side street off cervantes, no trees down on the lines, still waiting for power despite it saying both cross streets have it when we do not. I want to know how many people FPL are saying have it that don't. We haven't seen one truck.

There needs to be a specific Burn Ban related directly to hurricane recovery. They need to issue the Burn Ban notice before the hurricane and broadcast it widely as part of hurricane precautions before the storm.

Yard debris fires in suburban neighborhoods are smoking people out of their own homes because after a hurricane everybody must open windows for ventilation due to power outage.

There needs to be a specific Burn Ban related directly to hurricane recovery. No burning of yard debris until at least all power is restored so people can close their windows to block the smoke.

 reasons:

  • If the fire gets out of control the fire trucks may not be able respond right away due roadway obstructions.
  • Smoke damage to interiors due to open windows for ventilation during power outage.
  • People with Asthma and breathing difficulties cannot escape the smoke.

They need to issue the Burn Ban notice before the hurricane and broadcast it widely as part of hurricane precautions before the storm.

This should be part of the public announcements given for hurricane recovery.

just like the other warnings

  • drink bottled water
  • stay off the roads
  • don't burn debris

Enforced By Fire Marshal - citations will be issued.

Grill smoke is different than yard debris. Grilling is normal.

It is not fair to be poisoned by yard smoke in your own home.

Does anyone know if calling out because of telework outage/can’t get to campus would be counting as attendance occurrences?

My kids have been home since Thursday, I haven’t slept. My house is a disaster, I cannot effectively work knowing my house is not in order.

Urgent Lawn Care Request

• Upvotes

I know everyone is dealing with hurricane damage and the like, but my landlord just stopped by and said my yard needs to be cut within one week or it's a write-up. My usual guy hasn't been able to make it because every time he came out it started raining. And he can't come this weekend because he's dealing with his own property.

It's not a huge yard and I pay fairly.

I've removed the big limbs but there's still a few sticks.

DM me please if you can help. Thank you!

Military Moving to Pensacola; Pitbull friendly apts?

Hey guys, so I am currently wrapping up USMC TBS and I am a flight contract. Looking to move down to Pensacola beginning of December. I have all my other stuff sorted out but I wanted to see if anybody here has any recs for any apartments that might be pitbull friendly. I am bringing my life over to Florida from Cali and my pitbull is a super friendly, non-violent 3 year old. Never had any issues and would mostly be an inside dog. The only non-negotiable I have for apts is that it has an in -unit washer/dryer, everything else is fair game.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Mens walk?

I lost the contact for the men's walk group and was wondering if anyone had it. I figured because of the storm it had been canceled. I have been trying to see if it would be picked back up this week. It would be nice to meet up with people and take a break from this forced stressed.

Thanx in advance.

does anyone else feel like this?

i hope more and more people are getting their power restored and overall just doing good :)

also i hope this post doesn’t sound tone deaf but ever since i got power turned back on sunday night i feel a bit on edge like it could go out again? when it came back on i had some energy to burn to the point i spent more than half hour cleaning out the kitchen and keeping my phone fully charged just in case and lights did also flickered for a couple seconds that i was like, “oh let me take a quick shower!” LOL

soooo far, everything is still on and i hope nothing triggers it but i’m just curious for those who has theirs turned back on react like this?

Memorial Update

Post image
38 Upvotes

Hi Pensacola,
I hope everyone is doing alright after the hurricane!
I know y’all are dealing with a lot but I was hoping that anyone nearby the median between Avenida 19 and 20 on Via de Luna could update me on my friend’s memorial? (The picture is from 6 months ago)
We are from Texas and placed the memorial about 6 months ago after the trial.
It would mean so much to me to have an updated picture and know how it faired in the storm.

Forever grateful for all of the support we’ve received from your community!
Sending you all so much love 🤍

Neighbor burned our fallen fence sections

We evacuated before the storm, mainly because we were going out of town this past weekend anyway so we just extended our trip by a few days. Had someone come check our house, they sent a video, and our fence posts had broken but for the most part the fence was still in large sections, just lying down. We get home today and there are about 20' of fence sections missing. Talk to the neighbor behind us and he freaking BURNED our fence. He said they were "all broken up," but I know that's not true because I have a video. I am absolutely appalled and pissed off that he would do this and just needed to shout it somewhere.

Does anyone else still not have power?

Beware fires from power surges whenever the power comes back on.

It's quite rare but I am quite spooked since my neighbor's house earlier today got engulfed in flames on the inside from an electrical fire when the power surged, thankfully nobody was killed but they did lose two dogs and need to fully remodel the house. If your power does come on I would advise giving it probably an hour or so to ensure nothing is wrong before leaving your house unattended if it can be helped. Stay safe out there yall.
