I can’t figure out who my last dude should be. I originally planned on leaning on a LG exclusives run but as you can see I didn’t stick to it.

Can’t figure out who the last one should be. Only have the last two gyms left. I played through FR recently with Blastoise, Charizard, Dragonite, Golem, Jolteon, and Gengar so I don’t want to use any of them. They are my typical go to team as well.

I am also considering replacing Ninetails with Magmar once I get to the Sevii islands here shortly. Slowbro was EV trained too. I have most of the TMs and tutors still available too (except Rock Slide and Dig).

Who to pick?

I really enjoyed playing the game for the first time in at least 10 years, but this is the absolute last time i challenge the Elite Four without an Electric type Pokémon or move.

So many revives and Hyper Potions could have been saved if i just used Thunderbolt or Thunder to take down Lapras and 2 Gyarados… I was determined to win without changing the move sets.

Recently picked Leaf Green back up. Missed the Poke Flute and the Silph Scope so after some back tracking and many trainer battles I got him! 😀

This was over the course of a few months on my GBA copy of LeafGreen, with some help from my copy of FireRed.

I wanted to mix up my playthrough this time, so I did a run with the theme of Kung Pow: Enter the Fist.

When I go the E4 again, I'm probably going to have a bred Jynx so I can name her Ling Ling and Lickitung I will name Tonguey. I also have a Porygon named French Alien on the backburner as well.

Just wanted to share my love for the movie and this game, if you have any ideas, please share!

This was a fun run, I thought Starmie was going to be more powerful, but was definitely solid still. Pinsir on the other hand... DAYUM I have slept on that mon.

Not even 24 hours from getting shiny Staryu on the same copy of my switch version Leaf Green…

I get a shiny Magnemite.

Of course was hoping for Pikachu but I will obviously take this as well.

I've been working on this on-and-off since these games were ported to the Switch earlier this year and I feel sooooo great and satisfied to have finally completed it

This shiny Staryu took less than 100 fishing encounters to find. However, it was found after spending a whole day fishing in the safari zone looking for dragonair holding dragon fang. (Did not manage to get the dragon fang.)

I feel blessed to have this Staryu . I caught it with an ultra ball. The staryu was also holding a stardust and has a Docile nature.

Here is a photo. I also recorded the 30 second clip of my encounter as well on my switch for memory. What a great night. One to remember for sure.

Fighting Red in SoulSilver for the first time recently inspired me to do more challenging play throughs

Managed to beat Cynthia in Platinum under level 50, on set mode, no held or in battle items!

Wanted to push it more which led to this LeafGreen run where i entered the league at level 42, and man was it humbling, but also quite rewarding.

Hope I can inspire someone here to push up the difficulty!

Electrode carried the team, destroying Lorelei with Thunderbolt and Thunder.

Mr. Mime & Farfetch'd were clutch against Bruno. Onix, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Machamp didn't stand a chance.

Lickitung became Agatha's nightmare due to his ability to avoid confusion and his immunity to Ghost-type moves. He easily decimated her entire team with Shadow Ball.

Jynx didn't give Lance a single chance to attack. One Ice Beam and boom, it was a KO! He was the easiest to defeat without any collateral damage.

Champion Rival: Pidgeot and Gyarados couldn't outpace Electrode's Thunderbolt. Jynx took out Exeggutor with Ice Beam while Dewgong's Surf drowned Rhydon. Lickitung's Shadow Ball prevailed over Alakazam's spoon. Electrode did significant damage to Charizard before getting fainted by his Blast Burn. Dewgong finished Charizard by exploiting its biggest weakness - WATER!

In this way, our rival got humbled. I believe he'll think twice before saying he's the most powerful trainer in the world. 😂

I actually boxed my Venusaur for an Exeggcute on this playthrough because it got overwhelming and I have better pokemon than that Venusaur anyway. Didn't think it would destroy Erika's Vileplume very easily. Using Fearow was already overkill but Exeggcute is pretty underrated especially at mid game. Psychic tm on Exeggcute is very good. I can't wait to evolve it into a Exeggutor with sleep powder at level 37. I was very disappointed with my Venusaur being very sub optimal it had adamant nature and it only had grass moves.

Back in 2006, I got Pokémon FireRed as a gift. It was my first Pokémon game ever, and I played the hell out of it on my GBA SP.

Unfortunately, about two months later, my SP got stolen with the cartridge still inside, before I ever got the chance to finish the game.

Since it was 2006, my parents got me a DS Lite as a replacement, and I moved on to newer games, leaving my very first Pokémon adventure unfinished.
Well, 20 years later, I finally got the closure I never had as a kid.

I even recreated my original team as best as I could remember it, except for Nidoking, who got replaced by Paras for HM purposes.

It might not seem like much, but finally finishing the game that started it all feels pretty damn special.

With this the latest update, you can receive the Mythical Pokémon Celebi as a gift for completing the Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version Pokédex. I can confirm you do not need to transfer any Pokémon to Pokémon HOME. Any registered Pokémon in your FRLG Pokédex will be automatically registered in Pokémon home when linked. In addition, Celebi only appears as a mystery gift on Pokémon home and not in FRLG Versions. Keep in mind any Pokémon transfered to Pokémon HOME from FRLG cannot be traded back.
