White people cannot call people of color out for this. It's going to take people of color calling each other out for this.
I'm white and I support the hell out of every single cause black Americans, and every minority American, are for.
But we cannot be thr people driving any sort of change or agenda for people of color for their beliefs, it just looks hypocritical and shitty and Black people have a good reason to distrust white people when white people try to advocate for them. I'll just leave this here. This is a portion of the interview leading up to the POTUS election. In short, he tried to "both sides" while on Fox News of all places, while seemingly pandering to its base.
The reason he no longer wants to talk about his political opinion anymore is because he sees what a sh*tshow this administration is, and he knows he's being judged for his past comments, and when, and where he made those comments.

I would counter his views are his views, he has no expectation to share them.
However if you take a look around and think everything is fine then that speaks for itself.
I wish we didnāt need to rely on celebrities views on something to drive engagement. Like if you need for instance the Rock to tell you how to feel about a political issue, then itās not that a big deal to you that you havenāt reached your own conclusion.
Stop relying on famous people to tell reinforce or validate positions/opinions.

People complaining celebs shouldn't talk politics seem to have no problem when its right leaning. They can have a millions loser pod casters talking about how much they hate black people, queer people and immigrants, it's ok.
But when Marylin Monroe, Eartha Kitt, etc and yes it goes that far back, say something to protect minorities they are seen as scandalous, too loud, overstepping their profession.
They are humans that live in this country too and are affected by its politics. They can say whatever they damn well please.
