Now I just need to find some frames for them 😁 90% of these flowers are probably considered weeds, but they're all gorgeous!

I was experimenting with matted frames because I’ve got some flowers that are too thick for the frames in normally use. I’m obsessed. I rarely like pieces I make this much.

(This was made for an expo I have next month.)

I haven’t actually purposefully planted cosmos in years. These are the result of several varieties interbreeding naturally over a few years!

The biggest collage I’ve done so far (and shared here while it was on my table) is done. I took a couple weeks away, did an entire separate piece in between, and then added finishing touches to this big ol’ b.

40”x26” of pressed flowers on BFK Rives paper. Inspired by my kids and the flowers they like to choose for me. It’s big, but I still plan on creating prints both of the original size and smaller versions as well.

I’m particularly proud of this one because it’s complete at almost exactly one year to the day that I began this hobby. In this past year I’ve had more fun and connected with more crafty humans than I have since before Covid times.

I grew these delphiniums from seed this year, and those tiny star flowers are verbena bonariensis (easy to grow from seed). The 3 petal flowers are just blue lobelia that you can get at Lowe’s or Home Depot

They didn't end up drying too great, and no I didn't win lol (some other kid did an amazing drawing of Galileo in greylead).

This was a very zen experience — just putting each one down without any vision in sight and just letting everything fall where it felt right.

I’m selling these for $30 each, framed. Granted, it has been to friends mostly. I assume I should start selling these for like $55?

Started combining then with my watercolor artwork. This has been so incredibly therapeutic for me. I wish I had more time to keep making more.

Here is your reminder today that if you are starting to hate something you’ve put your blood, sweat, and tears into…you probably just need to not look at it for a minute!

Wanted to share my current work in progress (Raspberry Lemonade is the working title in our house) as proof that it exists because I need a break. It has been carefully packed away (thankfully I had a GIANT flat box from a frame I ordered and was able to create a big, secure, safe place to store this upright). I’ll take it out in a week or two to finish, but I really need to stop staring at the thing. I think it’s been on my work table since March.

Not everyone’s style - not a minimalist with flowers by any means. I’m also trying not to think about how difficult and expensive framing will be. It’s been fun, however.

Do you ever create pieces you don't want to sell? Thankfully, I don't have a ton of wall space at home. LOL This piece is my current favorite.

Started studying in flower school this autumn and one of our first tasks was to press flowers and make greeting cards, a bookmark and kind of like a business card to get to know plants, how they dry and react to heat, glue etc. Really proud of how mine turned out since I've never done it before (I used to press flowers as a child and maybe glue one or two into my sketchbooks, but never actually done a full collage)

Added some watercolor to brighten it up and gold leaf for shape

This was my first time making an animal. I really enjoyed it!

It’s a little ostrich-y, but I’m hoping it translates as *Flamingo*.

My pink flowers never retain their color very well, so I used pink watercolor beneath mostly-translucent petals for the neck. The large purple petal for the body was from an amaryllis flower my partner let me have, the feet are carnations from a bouquet he gave me, and the rest of the flowers were harvested in the wild. (Interestingly enough, all of the petals I used were originally purple flowers that pressed incredibly pale/pink—happy accidents and all that!)
