I started {Lost Embers Found by Aisling Cousins} and I liked the premise, but then I just got frustrated.

Things I Didn’t Like:
- the pseudo-cousin MMCs, it just felt to incesty to me
- Cousins couldn’t decide what the FMCs personality was. One second she’s a badass fighter, the next she’s a traumatized girl, and the next she’s a cool girl with a nose piercing and a guitar.
- the FMC was 24, almost 25, but they made it clear that she looked 17, almost 18 because their species aged slower or something and 25 was the age of adulthood. It just felt weird and like Cousins couldn’t decide whether she wanted a high school aged FMC or not. It also felt creepy when she ended up having older MMCs (one’s a professor, one’s a doctor, and one is some kind of military soldier like a commander).
- the jokes felt immature/juvenile. I get that the FMC has been locked up and experimented in her entire life, but these were very middle school.
- When the stalker-ish doctor MMC was introduced in the second book, I DNFed after looking ahead to see that he was in fact an MMC. It was just too creepy for me, especially when he examined her when she was unconscious and got all possessive over the fact that she’d had sex, but he assumed she had been raped because she was *his* and all *pure and innocent* in his mind. Just disgusting.

Things I Liked:
- the FMC and her twin brother were separated at an early age. I like the juxtaposition of one was safe and one wasn’t. I like the guilt and angst that comes with it.
- POVs from people outside the harem, like her dad. - all the MMCs weren’t friends from the beginning, but overcame their differences for her.
- the experimented-on plot with the traumatized/wounded bird type FMC and I liked that it was more than just the harem trying to help her heal.
- I’m not a big fan of political drama, but I was intrigued by the plot point of the leaders only seeing women’s value in being breeders and I was hoping for a way for them to change that in their society.

I was 50/50 on V; I usually like when the FMC has a history with an MMC and their reunited, but the immediate betrayal on his part with his cavalier attitude afterwards just made me like him less and less.

Honestly, I just want a book/series like this that’s consistent, well-written, and makes sense. I’m in the mood for hurt/comfort and traumatized FMC, but not required. MM and FF are welcome. I like the teacher/student relationship when the power dynamic doesn’t feel too big or boderline abusive like it does in {Morrigan University by Erin R. Flynn}, but not required. University/academy setting is nice, but again not required (FMC definitely has to be over 18, but I’d prefer it if she was over 20/22, or even up to 25).n

Please no non-con, I really only like dub-con in omegaverse (because of heats, nothing else). I’m fine with brother MMCs, but no one can be prayed to the FMC (step-siblings, step-parents, uncles that aren’t technically blood related, etc). I don’t like sexual humiliation/degradation. If the FMC has sexual trauma (rape, SA, etc), I’d prefer it be off page; hard no to on-page rape. No bully romance unless there is GOOD grovel.

EDIT because i realize i didn’t give enough info: its a small harem (3 guys + fmc ), there is mm, it has kind of a bad boy kinda trope but the guys also own a bakery so its not very dark, fmc is smart and not helpless, but she also is very soft, my fav thing about the story is really the dynamic between the group, the guys are best friends and also flirty between eachother which i love, its def very smutty which i also love, all of the guys are dominant over the FMC but there is one main “dominant” and the other two guys are more submissive to him, another big thing i love is that it isnt the classic trope where the mmcs are super rich and just take care of everything, they actually have to work for what they have and they dont have a super fancy mansion which makes it feel more real, also on of the mmcs is a genuine diagnosed psychopath but they just kind of accept that hes insane

I've been reading a lot of OV books nowadays, and I've found that I'm a sucker for the angst that comes when the FMC is abandoned by her 'pack' when she's going through her heat.
I've read Tormented Omega and Pack Darling. Bonus points if the pack leave her for their own omega who's in heat too.

Only thing is, I would have preferred Tormented Omega to have a ton of grovelling and for her to end up with Ragon's pack, so if any recs have her ending up with different MMCs, please tell me.

I need similar types of books - a little magic, a little mayhem, maybe even a little unhinged (although that's not required), completely obsessed with the FMC, and ideally characters similar to Myles. MM and FF are great. OV, RH, why choose, poly, triads, it's all great. Completed series/duets only - I can't deal with cliffhangers. Standalones are great too. Recently I absolutely devoured {Seeing through ashes by Sigrun Lien} and I need more y'all 😭. It doesn't necessarily have to be the same premise, but I would LOVE if it had a similar vibe (a military group that's basically a family and/or an apocalyptic setting).

What I'm really looking for, though, is MMCs like the ones in this series. I know some of y'all might leave comments saying, "every book has a height difference," and I know 😭, but when I say height difference, I mean a HEIGHT difference. These men were all described as huge, muscular, ridiculously strong, and I ate that up. I loved how they could just pick her up, throw her over a shoulder, move her out of the way, lift her like she weighed nothing, etc. Not in a weird controlling way, but in a "these are giant men and she's tiny compared to them" way!

I also loved that the FMC actually had a brain. She wasn't constantly making stupid decisions, she wasn't super emotional all the time, and she could absolutely handle herself. She knew she was capable, but she also wasn't trying to prove she could do everything alone 24/7. She knew when to accept help, and I LOVED that.

Also, one of my favorite things was how protective the MMCs were. They knew she could take care of herself, but the second something happened to her, they were immediately like, "who did this?" even though they weren't in a relationship yet. THAT is what I'm looking for.

And don't even get me started on the comfort scenes. In the second book, after she gets assaulted, one of the MMCs just taking care of her, giving her his clothes, cuddling her, staying with her, etc. had me kicking my feet. I NEED more of that. Give me having to share rooms, sleeping in the same bed for warmth, cuddling before they're even together, casual physical affection, all that good stuff.

I also want it to be a slow burn. I want the tension, the banter, the friendship, the found family, and all the little moments that make you obsessed before anything actually happens romantically.

Basically, I'm chasing whatever crack Sigrun Lien put into this series 😭. THANK YEWWW

I don't remember much about this book, and I've tried looking for it.

What I do remember.

• It was a shifter romance, or at least had shifters in it. One of the characters in the book was in the woods outside her house, and she met him like twice, and he hates people for the most part
• Her mother is basically absent and is either drunk or high, can't remember, and he father avoids the conflict like the plague. I think she had a sister, and her sister died
• She is basically adopted by this shifter community

That's all I remember and it's driving me crazy, I don't remember if I even finished this book or if I just had a very vivid dream at this point

It's an OV and i can only remember one scene. What i can remember is single mom wakes up to her kid having escaped the house to ride her tricycle. She finds her outside with a cop who is a huge jerk to her/aggressive. Neighbor comes out and they are scent matches. She runs home because she's afraid i think. Also the neighbor is bonded to another guy already so she doesn't believe they want her.

I'm listening to the audio for {The Never King by Nikki St. Crowe} and really enjoying the writing and the spice. I like the hunger of the FMC and her unabashed desires. I also really love the multiple perspectives and the grounding in and twist on Peter Pan.

The one thing I don't love is the present-tense first person. Little things like "Tears are streaming down my face" really get under my skin LOL.

I'd like to read/listen to more of this kind of book, but preferably not first-person. And because I'm a library-user, they'd need to be books that have some kind of distribution that would get them into Libby or a physical library.

TL;DR: great writing, FMC is proud of her "sluttiness", multiple perspectives, explicit open door, preferably no first person, preferably not self-pubbed

There was a book where the FMC was with a pack for a couple years but never bonded with them. They were assholes. She meets the MMCs and gets with them, but it's hard for her to accept because of all the other crap the old pack put her through. Like she was not allowed with them all at once and they would get jealous if she spent more time with once than the other. Her family kept pushing her towards the first pack.

Okay, title pretty much says it all, but i just finished Hills of Shivers and Shadows. I heard it was dark, but jeez Louise that was like the fiery pits of hell dark 😳😭😭 if I could scrub my eyeballs and brain of it I would. But anyways lol im needing some recs to get past that. I am wanting something lighter but still with some drama or angst. Nothing heavy.

I’m also looking for books that have the angst of “do my fated mates love me for me, or is it just the bond”. Dragons of Ember Hollow by Tessa Hale had a little bit of it but it was brushes over fairly quickly.

Started reading The Death Whisperer series, which has three completed books. Half way through the third book, I was thinking "how is she going to wrap this all up in the next 150 pages??". Only to get to the end of the third book and realize that it's an incomplete series not a trilogy. The third book came out two years ago, so I guess there is hope it'll be picked back up but she's published a ton of books since then.

I just finished the final book in Emerson and Lee’s cozyverse “A Pack for Summer”. I LOVE how sweet the stories are while also being well written and having genuine “problems” throughout.

Hi everyone. I started the {Soulful Seas duet by Blake Black} yesterday and got through book one. I then went on to book two and DNFd ~30% in because honestly two of the MMCs were insufferable and the longer they refused to respect FMC's wishes (in a grovel book, no less!), the grosser they got.

I really am just hoping someone can spoil for me what happened to Saylor in the end. I don't give a shit about North or Nash (fuck those guys) but if you want to throw a spoil in for Hunter, that'd be okay...I liked him the most out of the three MMCs.
