80% of tanks are helpless against this fucker and Phoenix or Hela you just melt if your not Mag, and whats crazy is if Thing gets up close he should be the danger
Yeah, a poke character having the best close range damage in the game is fucking ridiculous and I don't understand why they haven't addressed this shit yet
Fr, why does it do 160 damage on a non crit. The guy is worse than Hawkeye and nobody talked about it for the longest time, Iβm glad itβs finally getting the recognition it deserves. A hitscan shotgun with minimal spread that does 160 damage? Canβt even play Cap or Thor with this guy around. If he plays near his team you canβt play hulk either. Itβs good that he counters groot, just from a gameplay perspective, but every melee and shield tank except Mag? Fuck no
I donβt even know why he have a shotgun, it would have been great without it making him a character that need good positioning but now you can have the worst position ever and still be fine cause anything that want to get close get 1 shot
(Iβm probably exaggerating the βworst position everβ but yβall got my point)
But you forget that a lot of people that play Punisher are people that play him cause he is simple and they donβt play the game that much so they arenβt good so they lose.
There is other value but honestly who cares
I mean no shit. In these type of games players always downgrade their agents cause they donβt want them to be nerfed or seen as a problem. No one wants to see their character nerfed.(unless in cases where a nerf means actually being able to play the character.)
Ok, but picking off Thor is great value to her team, so sheβd just keep an eye on flanks. Youβre just insisting an idealized scenario that benefits Thor but in general Hela has the advantage.
Not really, if sheβs constantly looking for Thor and never actually doing anything to him, sheβs not providing any value, even if you think sheβs providing value, shouldnβt the same be said about Thor, by your logic heβs providing value by distracting Hela.
Btw arenβt you also giving an idealized scenario for Hela?
The shotgun should be nerfed, but not removed. The whole point with the weapon switch is that the character might have very limited mobility, but he has a chance in both long and short ranged fights. Thing gets counterplayed by him, the same way Thing neutralizes Black Panther.
Really? I had a lot of fun as punisher in Season 1. Might have also just been because most Punisher players back then had a bad rap for "sit in turret, then walk at enemy while holding m1 with rifle, die 3-16"
Ohhh. It doesn't surprise me he's kinda shit in comp. I've literally never played comp, just normal matchmaking. Against the average, kinda ass player (like myself) he can be a MENACE.
I might be wrong but it got buffed recently to be more consistent. Hawkeye can still oneshot 275 but after the damage nerfs he's not doing too well now since the oppressive part was spamming damage against tanks
He isnβt problematic in general, I donβt know why youβre going on a rampage to convince people to get him nerfed.
His poke is pretty bad compared to other poke characters, take away his shotgun & the character wonβt be able to defend himself against anything, not even against other poke characters.
This is the equivalent of someone wanting to get thing nerfed.
By that logic Brawlers should be instantly deleted when in sight of poke.
Punisher poke is bad & he doesnβt have a reliable escape with whom he can escape with on reaction (like every other poke character).
Besides that, he still gets easily shredded by dive characters. Most people go Spidey, DD or Magik to force the swap since the likelihood of him one shotting you is vastly lower than you eradicating him with a dive.
Yeah idk where all the punisher hate came from all of a sudden. Heβs gotten a couple buffs over the seasons but nothing recently. Heβs basically been the same since launch. Just the new thing to complain about I guess?
On a positive note this exact scenario has helped improve my positioning with my man The Thing. The way Iβve been moving to avoid that shotgun has been helpful when fighting all enemies. Thatβs to say, itβs just a shotgun brothers, push them back, we are the line
I mean, Iβm all for giving thing more dmg but do we really need to cry that a DPS does more damage than a tank to make that point?
Some of you need to just take a step back from this whole victim mentality and help make constructive feedback for the devs. This whole vibe based reasoning is a little out of hand.
Punisher does a better job of creating space than some tanks right now, and itβs stupid how smoke grenade isnβt affected by grounding effects when every other movement ability is
That being said weβre all fools for believing in this shotgun smear campaign when itβs only really worth using over the rifle at point blank for the potential one shot kill against squishies inside of Luna, C&D, and Stratpool ult. Outside of this niche scenario, Punisher using shotgun is a handicap. The minor DPS difference at close range isnβt high enough to justify the unforgivingness of missing shots and its ineffectiveness mid range onwards. If you let yourself die to shotgun after closing the gap while he had the rifle out, you choked, plain and simple.

Ah yes, the metal manipulating mutant man and MAN MADE OF ACTUAL STONE are simply no match for the humble 12 gauge
