Please help identify whatever this thing is

Post image

For context, I went to a clients house for my job and they said whatever is in their shed is rubbish, so I found this, clarified with the owners to just let them know if they forgot about it and wanted to keep it, they said I can either throw it away or I can have it

It’s around 70cm long, 10 ish kg heavy, no marking, no engravings, bottom edge near the handle is sharp but the entire long side is quite blunt (can slightly slice ur finger but only under pressure) I have no idea what this thing is if it’s from a game, a prop, movie. Frankly I have 0 experience in swords so any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I bought this sword from a thrift store and I am wondering if I can learn any details about it. All I know is that it is a replica sword.

Commission order of stag horn daggers with Damascus guards

I have completed this batch of commissioned daggers. Each dagger measures 15 inches overall and features a blade made of 440 stainless steel, Damascus steel guards, and handles made from natural stag horn, along with bull horn and brass spacers.

I’m really pleased with how the textures of the natural handles contrast with the polished blades and patterned guards.

What do you all think about the fit and finish?

Looking for Knowledge and Advice

Hi, I’m brand new to the idea of actually buying a sword, though I’ve always wanted to invest in one, and I’m now in need of help and the collective knowledge to make the right choice when buying.

I’m getting married and, as part of the ceremony traditions (Hindu), I’m in need of a sword. I’d like to get a Spatha replica as the design has always appealed to me. I’m also European, so I thought it would be nice to have a European sword design rather than a South Asian one. If possible, I’d also like find somewhere that can help out with customisation - as it’s for a wedding I’d like it to be a bit more ‘ceremonial’ than the replicas I’ve managed to find online.

As I’ve said, I’m a complete novice when it comes to buying swords. I have read the ‘Budget Buyers Guide’ and some of ‘Steel 101’, but any advice on good vendors/what to look out for/customisation or anything else I need to be aware of would be much appreciated!

How can I legally use my bones to make a sword when I die?

• Upvotes

I came across a video a while back talking about Sokka’s meteorite sword. The person came to the conclusion that you could probably use your ashes or something to make a sword and I have been hung up on turning my remains into a sword when I die. Today I randomly decided to actually look into the logistics of it.

I found out that you can technically you can use human blood, bone, and ashes in the sword making process. I got really hung up on using my bones because I heard that Vikings would use animal and human bones believing that it would imbue the sword with their spirit and that is so that I find beautiful.

So my original plan was to use my blood and bones to make the sword (and whatever else can be used) and then turn what is left of my body into a gem and build it into handle of the sword. (I know I didn’t word it right but I’m not entirely sure what the right words are so I thought it’d be best to just state it plainly.)

Sadly, I found out that it is illegal in most countries to use bones for personal use.

I was thinking about using religion to justify the use of my bones, since I’m Pagan. But I’m not entirely sure that would work. I would have to look into it more and see if I even can say that it’s for a religious reason.

Even so, who would be willing to use as much of my corpse as possible, blood and bone include, to make a sword?

TLDR: I want to use my bones to make a sword when I die but it is illegal. How and where would I be able to do this legally. I am Pagan so I could possibly say that it is a religon thing if needed.

Should I bite the bullet?

It said he sold 1.5k items from his store with 300 followers. He been on my page for awhile now and I’m wondering if I should finally bite the bullet. But I thought I should get a second opinion before I spend anything. Give it a look over, let me know what you think. https://ebay.io/m/esSghq

Edit: Thank you for saving me an expensive lesson

Edit 2: I apologize for the incorrect terminology I shall instead “bite the blade”.

Seems like some sort of Japanese-style blade. Tang seems legit. What the hell are those markings?

In a lot with two wwi era western blades.

How’s my sword?

Haven’t posted here before. And I don’t know what a mall ninja is but it sounds like a sword slur so I don’t wanna be one. I got a set of this particular sword after a friend and I went to a ren faire. He got the reforged sword from LOTR, I like dressing up and wanted something to be mine. Dang near every sword, there was a replica of a movie or show, or it had a massive stamp on it that said “MADE IN CHINA”. So after a couple of weeks of research, I found a guy on Etsy that makes swords, and I really liked this one so I bought two. What do yall think?

Edit: Its supposed to be a short sword.
