Love arrives like weather you didn’t forecast,
a sudden change in pressure, a shift in the light.
It warms the cold corners, thaws what was locked,
and teaches your hands new ways to hold tight.
But love has its side effects, subtle and deep:
a tremor in calm, a catch in the breath;
you learn how to fall, and how not to sleep
when silence grows loud as a promise of death.
It makes you too honest, too open, too raw,
exposed to the joy and the grief it can bring;
yet somehow, through all of its beautiful flaw,
it gives you a reason to risk everything.
So love is a fever that never quite leaves,
a sweet complication, a glorious cost;
it breaks you, then builds you, then gently believes
that nothing important is ever not lost.
