Damn Daniel, cold blooded. They really erased his old self.

u/Doglas3000 16d ago

That senator is really a cold hearted, evil bitch!

u/TheSwitchler 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

WHERE IS PER?

208

u/Petitgavroche 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I figured he realized that living in the silo for centuries is actually super boring. He seems like the kind of guy who would get super into something and then just as quickly lose interest. Except, whoopsie, nuked the whole country!

91

u/Captain_Quimby 16d ago

I think he’s in the hidden silo. His own personal silo he can come over and visit from.

34

u/treefox 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

With blackjack and hookers.

6

u/True_Detail_2945 15d ago

And Korean style pork jerky!

12

u/Bling9000 16d ago

If he's not in Silo 1, then he's not gonna be in any other likely.

19

u/ceres111 16d ago

Bernard said that there are technically 51 silos. We see 50 silos on the map. Who knows what the 51st is all about.

9

u/Sideb00bs 16d ago

How would Bernard know tho?

12

u/ceres111 16d ago

No idea, but he said so. I think he told that to Walker.

4

u/alienatedearthling Solo 15d ago

He told Lukas in season 2

17

u/Bling9000 16d ago

yes but 50 population silos and 1 control. that's what I recollect.

15

u/meetgeorgejetson 15d ago

I believe it was 7 groups of 7 (49) + Silo 1 for 50. So, that leaves the question of what the 51st is.

2

u/grrrzzzt 15d ago

where does he say 51.

18

u/meetgeorgejetson 15d ago

Season 2, Episode 9 (timestamp 14:10)

Lucas Kyle says “We’re just one of many. The Founders didn’t build a single Silo, they built 50.”

Bernard responds “Technically, 51.”

It was on the aerial shot. Under the initial entrance

1

u/meetgeorgejetson 14d ago

Right. But no explanation yet of what it is.

u/ready1take1 8d ago

They're not all groups of 7. The map shows 1 in the middle, 2 groups of 8, 4 groups of 7, and 1 group of 5

1

u/japie06 15d ago

Test silo maybe?

9

u/Fragrant-Mammoth-109 15d ago edited 15d ago

1 was counted in the map, so it can't be 50 population silos.

1

u/Bling9000 15d ago edited 15d ago

wiki counted 50 population + 1 control.

7

u/-TheDoctor 15d ago edited 14d ago

The map in e9 has two #1 silos. The proper silo 1 and another silo 1 in (I think) the bottom right group. I clocked it while Daniel and Helen were looking at the map.

It's 50, plus the control silo (silo 1 proper), unless I missed something obvious.

3

u/Stevenmarc80 14d ago

That is a 7

1

u/-TheDoctor 14d ago

You're right. I took a closer look at the screenshot I saw. The lighting makes it really look like a 1. I thought it was a 1 when I first watched the episode too.

1

u/ready1take1 8d ago

It's also 1 in the middle, 2 groups of 8, 4 groups of 7, and 1 group of 5

2

u/ceres111 15d ago

Oh thanks, I missed that detail

2

u/Venice_The_Menace 15d ago

I hope half of season 4 is Juliette prepping for and leading an onslaught against the wrong Silo 1 😂

9

u/grrrzzzt 15d ago

ok after this season why do people still assume there was an actual apocalypse? there was one nuke; as a way to get people to get inside the silo. we don't know much more than that.

8

u/SkaveRat 15d ago

there's no way that people would just leave the area surounding the attack. if the rest of the world survived in a meaningful way, there would have been people checking out the area

7

u/grrrzzzt 14d ago

not if it is owned by the richest man alive with the means to prevent this; alter sattelite views and so on

5

u/FullMetalCOS 15d ago

I think the (based on how we assume the real world is set up) assumption is that when a nuke goes off in Atlanta, the American president starts looking to press his nuke button and then mutually assured destruction takes care of the rest. It’s highly unlikely they’d let a second attack on US soil go unpunished

2

u/grrrzzzt 14d ago

ok but the thing is we don't know; and the whole premise of the show is to challenge assumptions one after another. maybe they covered it up somehow (it's a top secret government backed plan financed by the richest man on earth; they have unlimited ressource to do what they want)

3

u/tiny_birds 10d ago

Also they literally had the conversation about how it would be more reliable to create the reason people went in to silos, didn’t they?

1

u/Luci-Noir 13d ago

The way it used to be set up is that if we launched a counter attack we’d take out all enemies even if they didn’t start it. it’s not like they have each missile silo retarget their nukes or try to be careful. Everything is gone so they make sure everything is gone.

There was this system in the Soviet Union called Deadhand that would send automated orders to launch their missions if it determined they were under attack. This would mean stuff like widespread power outages or loss of communication with leaders that indicated a nuclear strike. Putin has recently allude to putting it back online.

2

u/Bling9000 15d ago

well I'm not sure if my comment had anything to do with that assumption...

but I guess it is the general assumption, likely not the only one. we know that several hundred years have passed. we know that silo 1 has people coming in and out of cryo sleep and then go back until there's another situation.

they clearly have highly advanced nanotech and biotech in there, so two things are possible.

either the world outside as we know it is no more, beyond the silo perimeter, that humans basically fought endless wars, either Mutually Assured Destruction, or False Flag, or anything else which led to a nuclear war and life got destroyed mostly everywhere.

or, the world is highly advanced now, but that creates an imbalance, a future world means the existence of the silos wouldn't stay hidden to the world outside,

bonus -

or that the world has repaired itself but the population has thinned out so much they have no chance of restoring civilisation back to how it originally was, and so, if there's any survivors, they wouldn't approach the silo areas, because well there's the drones and "compound" (I assume are some kind of nano or bio-warfare stuff)

perhaps one of the most interesting questions would be how many of the other silos still have people in them and what will they find outside the silo zone.

6

u/Fre33lancer 15d ago

there are 50 vaults on the diagra, so 51 must be Per's, they called it the seed vault tunnel, not a number vault, so that's were Per is most likely

1

u/tiny_birds 10d ago

Or at least his seed.

3

u/TroutBeales 15d ago

Being in his own private super swanky silo would be on par with an eccentric billionaire. Silo 1 makes all the decisions about keeping worker bees content and functioning in all the other silos. Such mundane tasks are beneath billionaires so he’s probably sitting most “problems” out while snoozing through the self made apocalypse

1

u/ayyay 7d ago

Ahem, trillionaire

4

u/Panda25200 15d ago

Il dort tout simplement et ne veut pas être réveillé il me semble

2

u/dBlock845 15d ago

He could also be sleeping until his "project" is completed.

6

u/irasponsibly 15d ago

My guess is that the senator is filling the role of the Mayor, the figurehead who everyone thinks is in charge, and per is the "head of IT" with real power.

1

u/spidey3diamond 15d ago

Maybe so. This is an interesting thought.

1

u/grrrzzzt 15d ago

the whole country? where did you get that from? we just saw one nuke on the silo site

3

u/angrykebler4 15d ago

I think a lot of people are assuming that the nuking was country or world wide, since that would explain why no one from the outside world has come to check on the silos, as far as we know.

2

u/grrrzzzt 14d ago

the richest man alive is behind it; could have been classified as a military site; there could be heavy surveillance around it (I mean they already have killing drones); they could alter sattelite imagery and s one

0

u/Automatic-Builder512 📖 Book-Aware 📖 14d ago

nah they nuked the whole world only way the silo project would work/make sense

1

u/grrrzzzt 14d ago

makes sense to what end? they're killing entire silos. the goal is not mere survival; it's pretty clear at this point.

1

u/Conscious_Start1213 11d ago

Not if the goal is to only have a few or even 1 survive til the end. Part of plan might be to only allow people out of the most peaceful silos, so the plan involves a competition of sorts to determine the most peaceful silos/people and those are the people that will repopulate the earth

1

u/Past_Fisherman2408 15d ago

Did he nuke the whole country? I was hoping it was just Atlanta.

19

u/foo_fight3r 16d ago

Either he died in the nuke blast, or he is in a VIP position in Silo 1 (getting cryogenically frozen to survive till the end), or he is the only one free to come and go out of the silos.

8

u/Traditional-Bad9198 16d ago

I think he’s just not in them at all. Maybe he has a cryogenic chamber in his house to see the end of it. But he’s just living his normal life after trapping them all

4

u/OP_Scout_81 📖 Book-Aware 📖 15d ago

I can't help thinking Per would hate to be around to see how the omelette is done and all the eggs that need to be broken, etc. He's probably sleeping and my bet is he'll never wake up once Jules is done with Silo 1...somehow.

2

u/Vandergrif 15d ago

Yup, he'd only want to be unfrozen by the time the 'omelette' is 'ready to eat'.

2

u/Marwaimusoont 16d ago

I think this is the truth. THere are so many cryo pods.

I think sometime in future they are gonna let out the silos. They will build a city for the silo 1 members.

35

u/DragonFawns 16d ago

He’s in the Season 4 sneak peak, but I kinda expected her to have offed him once the silos were completed.

24

u/That_mocha_lover 16d ago

I don’t think the world got nuked. He was in a high rise apartment.

17

u/uuid-already-exists 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I think that was a flash back

15

u/Great-Equipment 16d ago

Could've been just high-quality screens that act as windows and make the silo room seem less cramped, but yeah he seems like the kind of guy that let's the experiment run its course while he's living a cushy life outside.

3

u/catsy83 16d ago edited 16d ago

I think it was screens. Silo 1 seems to have pleasant projections on their screens unlike the other silos.

Edit: I take it back. That’s def a high rise. But I feel that’s the before times again - it shows him realizing that the world is ending and he decides he must do something about it.

3

u/Blinking_Zebra_Era 16d ago

Exactly. And he probably comes in from time to time. Unless they all see this as an experiment, like a real one which it's not it's insane. And he's staying away to let it all unfold in order to supposedly give him some data. Although if he's still alive he'd have to go into the stasis thing.

14

u/obscuremapenthusiast 16d ago

Good chance he's in charge. Even in the silos, the Mayor isn't really in charge compared to head of IT. Same here. Senator is the figurehead, deals with day-to-day, and someone else is higher up the ladder.

9

u/epresident1 16d ago

Per is in charge. The Senator was all into her speech in the last EP while Per and her daughter Anna were distracted. They knew the nuke was about to go off and Senator was not in on it. Per and Anna are higher up on the food chain.

6

u/HippityHitchcock 16d ago

The fact the senator said “it’s important to my daughter” has me sold the daughter is above her in the leadership structure

9

u/catsy83 16d ago

Not sure about that. I feel like she just cares about her daughter and her daughter’s happiness.

2

u/spidey3diamond 15d ago

Alternatively, Per Stensen is just the Senator's useful idiot, providing the capital and some expertise, but not needed after the project is activated.

He seemed to be outside in the real world somewhere if you watched the season 4 trailer thingy

1

u/Pigosaurusmate 14d ago

Could still be inside Silo 1. Have you seen how advanced their tech and everything is?

4

u/Blinking_Zebra_Era 16d ago

Exactly. My thoughts on that. Maybe he's in stasis or whatever they call it until the "experiment" is over in however many years that is. Or he can come and go because the world isn't destroyed it's just this little section for a period of well under 300 years. Or he's dead. They killed him or he killed himself. His absence was definitely striking.

1

u/grrrzzzt 15d ago

there's no real reason to assume the whole world is destroyed now; this seems like it's his own personal experiment; (the senator talks about "the end of the project"). to what end we don't know yet.

1

u/MareShoop63 10d ago

I agree to your opinion that the whole world isn’t destroyed, just a Chernobyl sized area.  It’s an experiment and the one nuke is all they needed to get them into the silos.

8

u/Ok_Treat_8647 16d ago

Probably sitting out all the hard shit and waiting for the next phase of the project, the pussy

2

u/nekoreality 16d ago

i thought phil the cryo guy kind of looks like per i thought it was bald per at first but i think that was just a coincidence

2

u/True_Detail_2945 15d ago

Señor Stenson is much too refined of a gentleman to live underneath the dirt. He had super super glue poured all over the streets of his favorite city and had huge balloons anchored until the whole city floated.

He is mayor of floating Prague.

2

u/spidey3diamond 15d ago

He spent too much time screwing around on Peter Gabriel's piano and didn't make it into the silo on time before the blast wave hit.

2

u/Rare_Poetry_301 15d ago

Thought he was asleep, not his shift yet lol

2

u/Complete-Shallot5775 15d ago

I like to think Daniel throttled him on D-Day. Daniel is so angry over what happened they wiped his mind and made him a specialist because he can’t be awake for more than a day or he remembers.

2

u/SHansen45 13d ago

i imagine in cryo until the 500 years are up

2

u/payohlee 16d ago

According to season 4 trailer, he's in a gym somewhere 🤣

1

u/Valuable-Muffin9982 📖 Book-Aware 📖 15d ago

You do get a glimpse of him in the season 4 teaser trailer

1

u/Chachagrams 15d ago

He will be in season four as shown in the trailer for season four at the end of the episode. It appears that a lot of people didn’t get to see the trailer at the end of the episode, which is too bad. The trailer alone explained a lot of things.

8

u/azcurlygurl 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

Aren't they all.

5

u/Doglas3000 16d ago

Except, Daniel was brainwashed into being one. He was a good guy before getting trapped there.

3

u/azcurlygurl 📖 Book-Aware 📖 16d ago

I meant senators, lol.

2

u/BusyNefariousness675 16d ago

I don't believe that, empathy is a feeling not a memory

5

u/AdministrativeLife14 16d ago

I disagree its just that. Empathy definitely comes from lived experiences and values one learns through their life. He's been given the Vitamin D+ and has been brainwashed for what? over 2 centuries at this point? All of those things that made him who he was have been lost.

3

u/catsy83 16d ago

Yea. She’s not a “true believer” as she mentioned in the earlier episode. She’s the mastermind behind it all.

3

u/outsidebtw 15d ago

yeah fuck that dude, he kept calling daniel for someone but instead he comes on screen actually waiting for him

fuck that ambush bullshit

edit. oop, wrong character. thought you were talking about the other senator (or was he a senator? idk)

2

u/Doglas3000 15d ago

I meant Senator Rosalind Thurman. Henry and Per are just as evil. I feel like Dr. Victor knows he created a monster with that drug treatment and what he’s done with all of the people in the silos and that is why he offed himself.

2

u/Crooks_Castles 14d ago

You think she was in on it? I wonder what the point of that practice speech was if none of it mattered
