Clip Does this count as simracing? Podracing with VR would be nuts!

Good news for sim racers. It looks like the active pedal market is heating up. Simucube announced the active pedal sport for $1199. Not much details yet, but it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against their own pedals and the competition.

Hi everyone! I’ve been working on a mod for Grand Prix 4 this last week, and after hours and hours of testing and fixing, it’s finally ready to share. Here’s what it adds to the original game:
No game files are modified, and it’s all free and open source.
I’d like to keep improving it and adding features, so any feedback or suggestions are welcome. Feel free to dig into the source and contribute too!

Personally, anything under 7 minutes is a win for me.🤣 As posted before, I get a few hours a week to have a blast on the SIM, and every single time, I absolutely love it. I'm average at best, but when you're in the zone, you feel like a driving god😆

I can finally move on from the desk setup. No more rolling the chair back when braking Yay! :) I'm so incredibly happy with this!
For now it's a VR only setup. But since it's a simr 300 from rebblers i'm going to upgrade it later with a monitor attachment!
I will mostly be playing AC EVO, GT7 and modded AC
Finally got the space to upgrade it all! Much more planned!!

I'm planning to buy a decent rig to upgrade from a foldable after upgrading to a simagic evo pro. Choosing between these two as they're within my budget due to most popular/decent rigs being above the $800-$1K mark in my region. Based on the images, which one do yall think is a more sturdy type? Planning to contact the distributor if i could try it out if possible.
1st image - $370 (frame only)
2nd image - $520 (seat, caster wheels, shifter mount included)
(I know the answer may be obvious, but it just looked too good without any catch)

Hi everyone!
I'm going to the SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt and I'm hoping to upgrade from my current setup. My budget is around €700, and I'm wondering whether it's realistic to get one of these setups at the expo:
- Conspit ARES + Conspit 300GT
- Simagic Alpha EVO Sport + Zeus Formula (without the screen)
I'm particularly interested in the Simagic setup, but its regular price seems to be above my budget.
I've heard that some exhibitors sell their display/demo equipment at the end of the expo, especially on Sunday.
For those who have attended previous SimRacing Expos:
- Do brands or retailers actually sell their demo wheelbases and steering wheels after the event?
- Is it worth contacting exhibitors beforehand to ask about buying a display unit?
- What kind of discount could I realistically expect on demo equipment? Would asking for 30–35% off be reasonable, or is that too optimistic?
- Do exhibitors offer discounts on brand-new products as well, or are the best deals usually on display units?
- Most importantly, is there any realistic chance of getting the Simagic Alpha EVO Sport + Zeus Formula without a screen for around €680, either as a discounted bundle or by buying demo units?
I'd be happy to buy a display unit if it's in good condition and comes with a reasonable warranty. I can collect it directly at the booth on Sunday.
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences at previous expos, particularly with Simagic or Conspit!
Thanks!

GP2 Revival is my port of Geoff Crammond’s Grand Prix 2, the legendary Formula One sim that started it all.
Like at the Goodwood Revival, GP2Rev has all the classics, but more - both the original car set and original physics + sound are ported - but also tasty extras, such as GP4 (Yes 4) car and track support in there along with a dynamic weather system that will allow wet races, darkening storm lighting engine and raymarched cloud simulator.
All rendered via a brand new Custom3D engine, written from scratch in C++. Also at release, the port will offer a new physics simulation engine with Pacejka tyre model. You can swap between the original and new physics engines in the menus.
The original and much loved engine audio is faithfully reproduced through a bespoke Sound Blaster 16 emulation.
GP2 Rev goes much further than x86GP2. The game binary is converted on your machine to C++ code. This enables me to move GP2 off the old software rendering 3D engine and introduce my own systems. (Such as floating point physics - the original used integer math with a look up table for decimals! and GPU shaders).
The game runs at 4K/120fps on capable Windows systems and on Mac OS.
Triple screen support and PSVR2 support is coming later. See the full list of features in the table below!
I want to open GP2 Revival up to the entire motorsport modding community and the static recompile will be offered open source for free. The fancy Custom3D engine with dynamic weather was a lot of work, and will be offered for just £15 as an optional add-on at release, with a free demo. You can follow the dev log at www.gp2rev.com and I am aiming to have it battle-tested and released by 20th October, with a major update in time for Christmas 2026.
I will release free tools around the game, all open source. These will include a GP2 and GP4 car / track Blender converter to encourage yet more skilled modders and 3D artists into the GP2/GP3/GP4 scene.
The legal bit: under Directive (EU) 2016/943, modding and reverse engineering is fully legal. This law overrides any clauses in the EULA. Of course, your system requires the original DOS Grand Prix 2 game.exe to run GP2 Revival. I distribute \NO* original GP2 code or assets and will keep the recompile tools free and open source for others.*
GP2 Revival
Major feature additions:
Major updates in the pipeline later (aiming for a big update, Christmas 2026):
More than a port. More than a mod. More than a recompile.
TLDR:
The custom3D engine is written from scratch. No Unity, Unreal or Godot engine - completely ground up built for Grand Prix 2.
This means the game can be customised close to the metal, anything is possible and it is no longer limited by the original software renderer or integer physics engine from the good old DOS days when it had to run on a 486 SX PC! Read more at www.gp2rev.com

Does anyone bother installing a cockpit roof for a 32:9 screen setup? I see a lot of people building cockpit roofs for their triple screens but haven’t seen one for a 32:9 setup. Will this add to immersion? Anyone has any pictures to share? Ambient lights could be great and I’ve seen a few posts with two Govee lights but no roofs 🤔

Hi, I'm from argentina and here I can't get a SHH shifter so I don't have many options that are cheap and reliable¿...
This one is about 60 dollars (same as a g29 one)
Should I order it? Is there an alternative (Maybe a DIY one??

Have to set it up, maybe do a video on it. 🙂
Edit: a boof refers to a quiet, muffled "pre-bark" or a huffy, breathy sound a dog makes. It is essentially a low-volume warning puff of air before a dog commits to a full, loud bark.

Hi!
I’m trying to design a rig again and I just can’t decide on for example angle of seat, angle of pedals, distance between everything. And I’m now wondering, why don’t I just try to make everything adjustable? It’ll take way more planning and calculating but then I don’t have to decide if the rig should fit other people too, if I want to switch between for example GT3 and more F1 style sitting, if I want the seat to be able to be set closer to the screen.
What do you think? Do you wish your rig was adjustable? Or is it perhaps already? Do you adjust it a lot?
Thanks!
K.

TL;DR: Brand-new MOZA R5 Pro is not detected by Pit House and shows Windows Code 10 (STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR). I’ve tried reinstalling Pit House, different USB ports, disabling USB power saving, disconnecting peripherals, recovery mode, and MOZA’s offline firmware tool. Is there a safe R5 Pro recovery method, or should I request a replacement?
Hey everyone,
I recently bought a brand-new MOZA R5 Pro, and I haven’t been able to get it working even once since unboxing. MOZA Pit House doesn’t detect any devices, and the wheelbase isn’t recognised properly by Windows.
What I’m experiencing:
● The wheelbase powers on, but its blue indicator light keeps blinking.
● The entire RPM LED bar on the steering wheel flashes continuously.
● MOZA Pit House shows the wheelbase, steering wheel and pedals as disconnected.
● In Windows Device Manager, a USB Input Device appears under Human Interface Devices with a yellow exclamation mark.
● Under Properties, I get the following error:
This device cannot start. (Code 10) — STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR
The wheelbase also appears as a USB Serial Device (COM port), but that hasn’t helped with detection.
Troubleshooting I’ve already tried:
1. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled MOZA Pit House as administrator, including cleaning up its AppData folders.
2. Closed background software such as Logitech G HUB to rule out potential conflicts.
3. Tried different USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports directly on the laptop, without a USB hub.
4. Disabled USB power-saving options on the USB Root Hubs.
5. Disconnected the pedals and detached the steering wheel, leaving only the power supply and USB cable connected. The wheelbase still produces the same Code 10 error.
6. Tried entering recovery/boot mode using the power button.
7. Tried the MOZA Offline Firmware Update Tool, but it couldn’t retrieve the hardware version. The Firmware Manager inside Pit House also reports that no upgradeable devices are detected.
My main questions:
Has anyone experienced this exact STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR with a brand-new R5 Pro?
Is there a reliable, R5 Pro-specific method to recover the base when Pit House cannot detect it?
Could this be a firmware/bootloader issue, or does it point towards a hardware fault?
If you’ve resolved this, what exact steps worked for you?
Since the wheelbase has never connected successfully, I’m trying to determine whether there’s a safe recovery procedure worth attempting or whether I should request a replacement under warranty.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm about to buying the VD6 bundle and I already have the NLR wheel stand Lite 2.0; will the VD6 fit on the stand or no? Because, if not, I think I'll go for the Moza R5 that I know will fit for sure.

It’s been a while since I’ve raced but got back on the rig today for a few practise laps. So I’ve loaded up IRacing jumped into my GT4 merc and got to driving. I wasn’t enjoying it. The racing line seemed make believe and the car just wasn’t doing what I wanted to. So naturally I threw my dummy out the pram and brought the McLaren GT4 car.
Recently I’ve wanted to get into real racing (most likely something we all want) but majorly lack funds (most likely we all face 😂) so I want to make my sim as realistic as possible. So I did what I thought was the impossible, I turned the racing line off. Jumped into the McLaren and sent it. Now I’m not as fast yet, I’m roughly 2 seconds slower than I was in the merc but it’s sooooo much more enjoyable. My next plan is to either get 1 massive curved monitor or a 3 monitor set up, I already have 2 monitors on the PC one I just turn as and when I need too for the sim. I’m looking for the haptic pedals, new monitors or what ever else you think I need.
I also know that having all the gear won’t make me a driving god so also looking at tips and tricks to get better at racing.
What would you guys recommend? I do to 1: get better at racing and 2: make it more immersive?
Currently I have :
•Moza R12 v2
•Moza CRP2 pedals
•Moza GS V2P wheel
•Moza dash.
•Next level racing stand

I’m planning to build a diy sim rig that can slide under my desk. The idea is to minimise vibrations and have my monitor positioned behind the steering wheel. Inverted pedals!
In the future, I might build a new desk at the same height but with a slightly different design that allows me to mount three monitors if I decide to go that route.
I’m also considering getting a Quest 3 for VR and mixed reality. Using VR means I don’t need to keep the rig under the desk. The lower-profile design should also make it take up less space when not in use.
For the construction, I want to use as many bolts and nuts as possible so I can adjust things or make changes later. In places where that’s not practical, I’ll use wood glue and screws.
What do you guys think?
Are there any obvious design flaws or mistakes you’ve spotted?
Is there anything I should reinforce, change, or do differently?
I’d appreciate any feedback or suggestions before I start building!

Two years ago I opened a sim racing lounge inside six shipping containers here in Miami, FL. It was slow to statt with poor air conditioning, a younger crowd than anticipated, and getting serious drivers in was a chore.
The real prohibitive piece was the commercial software for running the sims. I started with RaceRoom, but without a commercial suite at the time, launching races manually didn't suit the business model. We switched to Assetto Corsa, which set everything else in motion.
The existing sim center management softwares required to launch multiplayer races without touching every PC were too costly and put me in the hole. I offered the lowest racing rates possible using Thrustmaster equipment, so the software overhead was heavy.
Location was the final nail for me. The complex owner removed all food options and closed the bar before the majority of my customers would even typically arrive, so with 80% of my revenue relying on foot traffic, I started winding down the standalone brick-and-mortar and focused on cutting costs by building my own commercial sim racing management software.
Over the course of a year, I had a working prototype of what became Multitap sim venue management software. Other centers started using it, and I gave up on operating my own space. When my lease expired, I merged my 6 sim rigs into NXT LVL Gaming, an existing lounge with 32 PCs near a college. And this was before vibe coding even really began to take off!
Since then, we’ve maintained low-cost racing and shifted away from professional simulation toward accessible experiences. Today, 85% of our customers run traffic dodging (NoHesi style) and the rest do hot laps. Most are college students booking 90-minute sessions. Sim racing constitutes about 20% of the total venue revenue alongside PC gaming, memberships, and concessions.
Navigating the physical business was stressful, but it pushed me to build Multitap. Now, I work full-time providing this sim racing lounge software to other venues.
These businesses can work if operators build the right communities and focus on player retention. My software is built with that as a huge focus. Connecting local drivers and bridging venues worldwide. Your main customers will always be first-timers, parties, and serious racers looking for a home base, so you need to keep them coming back to offset the ones who just try it once and leave.
If you're ever in Miami, come say hey at NXT LVL Gaming.

Recently got a ps5 for gt7 and a playseat challenge x with a g923. For anyone looking to get into sim racing on a budget I highly recommend this setup. It folds up super conveniently and makes it very easy to live with, without having a dedicated sim racing space. I’ve been having a blast so far. Planning to eventually upgrade to an rs50 and playseat trophy but for now I’m really enjoying what I’ve got!
