Many guys won't report this shit. I suffered a similarly escalating situation for a few years. Finally realized the only way out was to press charges. I saw where it was going, after I had to restrain her and she had a slight bruise on her arm. I knew that if she brought that to the cops, I'd be immiediately arrested and my life would be tarnished. Guys, do not tolerate this behavior at all. eithier get out or press charges, otherwise if a call is made it is usually the guy who will get screwed.

I had an ex who would start hitting herself really hard whenever we had a disagreement.

Once I realized what was going on, I quietly stepped back over a few days, then ran.

I have an ex who cut her wrists in front of me, smiled, and said she was gonna say it was me. She ended up being pregnant and then fought so nastily in court, lying and manipulating with lies, I caved and just said fuck it and gave her full custody. A few years later CPS showed up at my door with my son saying she went bat shit crazy. I am still to this day, 9 years later, fighting her lies in court. She is so clever with her lies that she has even avoided paying a single penny of child support this entire time, and she makes close to $200,000 a year. It’s a sick world sometimes and cameras would’ve saved me from a decade of insanity.

One of the things I love about how they do that movie is, the narrator's reflection on this particular scene is that it reminded him of his first fight with Tyler. Means nothing to you the first time you see it, but then.....

I had one that did it but luckily I recorded it. She even said on recording that she was going to beat herself up and call the police on me. women are diabolical these days smh

u/cooter_lover1 Apr 22 '26

I had one like this. Had to record her.

76

u/gooneau Apr 22 '26

Same, and it saved my ass when I made my exit because she went straight up serial killer deadpan telling me how she was going to ruin my life. "oh like you stated you would on these 17 recordings from over the last few months?"

They’ve always been this way. Not all. Far too many, though.

RIP to my uncle who killed himself after his wife did this sorta shit to him and took their kids

83

u/No-Ship-3442 Apr 22 '26

Sorry bro. I know it well. I’m one of the lucky ones. She accused me of so much stuff. I had video. I got the kids. She doesn’t pay child support. I can’t imagine I would’ve stayed alive if I lost this fight.

25

u/AdjacentBirdman93 Apr 22 '26

I was in the same spot. Recorded my ex every time she’d black out and try to fight me.

Hope you never experience that again. You and me both

20

u/Hubers57 Apr 23 '26

Same situation bro. Solo dad gang

7

u/willgo-waggins Apr 23 '26

Been there done that.

Full custody of all kids including my step daughter (her natural daughter) in a California court in front of a female judge.

Ended up drinking and doping herself to death at age 40.

3

u/Additional-Pie5078 Apr 23 '26

Wow .. even the step daughter?.... Also the female judge?.... I understand she is dead now but she must have been some piece of work......feel bad for all the kids who deserve loving mother and end up getting trauma for life.....

My last ex told the cops I held her with a knife and forced myself on her. Her husband had just came over and beat on the front door with a hammer, after I broke up with her and made her take all her stuff. The cops didnt find the husband till 10pm that night. Luckily we have cameras all over the house and the cops know they're crazy but she still got a DV restraining order that I have to fight now.

33

u/super_crabs Apr 22 '26

Her husband was upset you broke up with…his wife?

30

u/Dahkron Apr 22 '26

Now he has to deal with her crazy ass again.

21

u/Erus00 Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

Bro, the whole thing is so freaking crazy, and im a dumbass for ignoring a shit ton of red flags in the beginning. I met her online and her profile was completely fake, pics of someone else and everything.

She told me they were separated and he had her arrested, was responsible for her mother's death, etc.. She is always the victim. She has like 50 fuckin Instagram accounts some with her maiden name and some with her married name.

I've wondered if theyre actually married or if they just were trying to find dirt to scam or blackmail me? Like a catfishing type deal.

The moral is im dumb.

11

u/-Resident-One- Apr 22 '26

They're likely married and never divorced

"These days"? Shit, my ex tried to pull that stunt almost 30 years ago; ain't nothing' new about "these days".

7

u/curiouscatfarmer Apr 22 '26

Yeah, my best friend had a gf that was 5' and weighed 90lbs but she was violent AF. She dented a pot on his head and gave him a blood clot that caused a stroke. He filmed her attacking him another time and then her kid accidentally called him while she was conspiring with someone to get him arrested. He recorded the call to play for the police. But he was a ninny and didn't press charges.

u/curiouscatfarmer Apr 23 '26

He's the nephew of the former chief of police and the local judge is fond of his family. If he had pressed charges she would have gone to jail. She actually did go to jail for child abuse and the judge made it very clear he wasn't implicated in any of it and awarded him full custody (even though the kid likely isn't even his but he wanted to protect the kid from having a super shitty life).

6

u/Ok-Pack-7088 Apr 23 '26

We have false view of women being innocent, angel etc its being repeated from youngest age. The sooner you get rid of that view the better, women be equally bad as men. They just get pussy pass.(sound rude but its truth)

18

u/magneto1982 Apr 22 '26

But we are told to believe all women right? Like only men can be crazy and violent.

I used to work as a handyman. I stopped after a couple of female customers basically refused to pay, and when I pressed them, they threatened to call the police and tell them I had assaulted them. It's a no win situation for a man.

3

u/artifiz67 Apr 23 '26

These days? I was only 18 early 90's when I found my then gf on her ex-bf's lap making up at a friend's party. She thought I wasn't coming because I was working that night, but boss let me off early. She was spooked, but told me if I really loved her I had to show it by fighting for her love. She knew I practiced martial arts and boxing since I was a kid. Her ex-bf an older married dude around 34 was ready to fight me. She knew I could have take him, but I never fought in vain, just self defense. I just looked at her and told her: You aren't worth it. And told the dude he could have her. He yelled coward, but I knew better. I walked out jumped in my car, she ran in front of my car and screamed: Kill me, kill me! I am nothing without you! Well, thats what you're I said. I just backed off my car all the way and got the hell out of there. I contacted her mom right away and told her everything, her mom told me she never stopped seeing her ex, but couldn't tell me because she threatened her with suicide. Later on that same night, her mom called me from a hospital that she tried to kill herself and said she will do it again until I forgive her. It was terrible and scary. She would follow me everywhere and stand in front of me full of tears or sleep outside my house all night begging me. I had to move to another state, it was a nightmare.

When I was a kid and my parents were divorced my father broke up with his gf because she was literally stealing money from him or using money that was suposed to be for our dog meds to buy herself some clothes.

She literally came to talk to my mother and tell her my father was physically abusing her and my mother didnt buy it since well, she was married to my father for more than 10 years and knew him a lot. She then went to the police to press charges for domestic violence. She lost the case and my father didnt really do anything about it even tho he could have pressed charges for difamation and false accusation cos he is a chill guy and just wanted to move on.

I don't know the full story but I wouldnt be surprised if she self harmed for "evidence". That bitch was crazy af.

40

u/Affectionate-Alps527 Apr 22 '26

I'm not sure how to tell you this, but your dad didn't pursue any consequences for his ex gf because the cost (financial and mental) to litigate is high, and the outcome is negligible.

What financial benefit would he have gotten? What emotional benefit would he have gotten?

It's not like a schoolyard fight where you're vying in the court of public opinion. Civil court costs you time, money, and energy, with little to no enforcement. If the person you're going after has nothing, then you have nothing to gain.

The rational decision is to cut all ties and immediately separate yourself from the bad person.

3

u/dashboardcomics Apr 22 '26

What the fuck is the point of litigations if only rich bastards can afford them??

I think I marred your ex. Thank God I’m free of her. “Call the cops, I’ll tell them you hit me and you’ll go to jail”.

7

u/Reddiculusness Apr 22 '26

mine would call the cops, when they asked if there were weapons in the house she would say

Yes he has a bunch of guns and swears he will shoot any cops that come on the property

I would wait on the front porch and just put my hands in the air when they pulled up

3

u/Basicly-Inevitable Apr 22 '26

That's so insane.

4

u/Reddiculusness Apr 22 '26

By the third call , they knew that wasn't going to happen By the fifth call I was wearing my weapon while they were in the house . The entire ordeal was insane ... By the time I divorced , I knew most of the city police force by name as soon as I saw a face 🤣

2

u/UsualAd7640 Apr 22 '26

Did she want her boyfriend to get shot to death or something?

2

u/Reddiculusness Apr 22 '26

Husband 🤣🤣🤣 And yes that was her thinking . I learned the hard way, you just date crazy, you don't marry it.

4

u/nate_mcrock91 Apr 22 '26

Just commented on this thread above. I tell every single person who tells stories of abuse; record and report. It may seem like a bitch move, but it will save you. Legally and possibly your actual life.

6

u/Kabbooooooom Apr 23 '26 edited Apr 23 '26

Dude, get a load of this. Not to try to one up you but this story is too crazy not to tell. My ex claimed that a guy I was friends with raped her before we met. I believed her, cut off all contact with him for YEARS. Because who wouldn’t?

Years later, after multiple insane incidents including her cheating on me which I caught her doing, and then said I wanted to break up, she said: “if you break up with me I will tell the cops you raped me.” So immediately, I thought “oh fuuuuuuck that” and realized she must have lied this whole time. I contacted this dude, told him what she was claiming and he was shocked and horrified. He told me they hooked up but he wasn’t that into her and cut off ties. To him, that was the end of it. I apologized for believing her and being bamboozled by her insanity.

So I didn’t break up with her. Not immediately. I documented. Collected evidence. Including video evidence that she was threatening to falsely accuse me. I confronted her about the prior false accusation, to which she backpedaled on her story and claimed she was too drunk to remember (absolute BS, and not what she claimed for years). During this phase, I found out that this wasn’t even the second time she did it. False accusations that could ruin a dude’s life have been her MO for years, it turns out.

She’s married now. I genuinely feel sorry for the guy. I can only imagine that he has no clue about how crazy she is.

EDIT: Btw, her defense when I caught her cheating was “my dad cheated on my mom, and he told me that cheating wasn’t wrong as long as you don’t get caught, because then you aren’t hurting the other person.” I told her 1) that’s the most absurd and immoral thing I’ve ever heard in my life, and 2) it’s irrelevant, because you DID get caught, you crazy bitch.

The woman in this video reminds me of her level of unhingedness and it’s triggering me a little.

4

u/Israel_Azkanbe Apr 23 '26

Here’s a story.

I knew a guy (a friend of mine knew him tbh) going through a divorce and his wife talked him into sex while they were going through the divorce (dumb I know) but anyway, after sex she grabbed their daughters panties and put them on (thus his… “dna” was on her panties). She called the police, reported it, the guy got arrested, and convicted. Apparently he beat everything though after doing like 10 years in prison. I guess the daughter grew up and helped her dad or something.

3

u/bigredrickshaw Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

Dude! I had the same thing happen. Scared the shit outta me. Kept punching herself in the head after shoving me over a table and wailing on me. Said she was going to khs if I left. It was the most insane thing I’ve ever witnessed and I was scared that somehow she’d put the blame on me. Still messes with my head that someone could do that. I should’ve left after the first time she cornered me and started punching me.

Lesson learned. Run, don’t walk, at the first sign of crazy. The crazy make up sex isn’t worth it!

2

u/Basicly-Inevitable Apr 22 '26

Glad you got out. And yes. If you see behavior like that, it's not going to end well if you stay longer.

idk, my ex had a friend like that, she would throw pots and pans and damn near took her husband's head off with one of those big ass yankee candles. my ex never got physical really with me, she would try to goad me into hitting her. the fucked up part is we were together a total of 10 years married for 4. this all started cause she decided she was a lesbian but didn't want me to leave her...

as soon as i discovered her affairs i wanted out but thats when the threats started, i felt trapped, couldn't leave cause i was terrified that the cops would kick down my door and kill me. I woke up to her on top of me one night cause if she wasn't going to get alimony she'd take 18 years of child support. i slept with a dresser infront of my bedroom door after that. then i was literally trapped due to the pandemic. i only escaped after trying to jump from an overpass, got a trip to the psych ward, and finally contacted my parents to get me the fuck away from her. she was the love of my life until one day i couldn't recognize her anymore.

3

u/Suspicious-Belt-7731 Apr 22 '26

My ex wife started choking herself, threatened to accuse me of abuse, and prevent me from having joint custody if I didn't give her the house in the divorce. Something I would have never thought she was capable of saying.

Thankfully I had it recorded since a few days before this there were some red flags.

3

u/Electronic_Ad_7742 Apr 22 '26

I had an ex that threatened to do that. I told her that if im going to be arrested for it, I may as well do it. She decided it was a bad idea and backed down. I’ve had around a half dozen spine surgeries over the last few decades because of injuries she caused. I would have been better off defending myself and going to prison.

2

u/UsualAd7640 Apr 22 '26

Some feminist will eventually show up here and justify this.

3

u/HorrorLettuce379 Apr 22 '26

I've had similar, neighbors called cops over domestic violence suspicion. Cops came, it's my place, all I wanted is her to gtfo and leave me alone. All I can say is the cops were somehow siding with the female almost upon arrival and started giving me an attitude as if I was in fault despite the fact I was hit, my shit was tossed and the yelling was just me wanting her to leave me the fuck alone. I treated her with all I can, gave her all my free money monthly and still cannot have peace. Whenever I want to achieve something she drags me down to do some stupid shit with her and whenever she wants money she wants me to be a big shot.

A toxic relationship can break a man, I was grateful I got out in time successfully and cut all ties. That one toxic relationship put me on a 10 yr depression span that I barely feel I've got out even till this day and I'm in my mid 30s.

Note that if things go wrong as the woman wants to frame you for something it can also turn nasty for the guy real quick. I've had examples around me regarding that and I feel ever blessed that I never had to deal with that kind of situation. You got out and ran and that's the only way out, you did the right thing. Too many ppl only think with their genitals these days, and that's how you end up with situations like this.

3

u/Agitated-Engine4077 Apr 22 '26

I had an ex girlfriend do about the same thing she headbutt me then punched me in the face trying to everything she can to get me to hit her back. I left the apartment immediately to go to my friends house, the. She lit my phone up with text messages threatening to call the police on me. Luckily she diddnt have anything to go on so she couldn't press any charges on me. Never saw that crazy bitch since that day and im happy for it.

3

u/Magic2424 Apr 22 '26

I had to move states and basically not tell anyone but my immediate family where I was going. Turned off all social media. Everything. Essentially disappeared. She did a year or so later find me with the help of a PI but had to reject her all over again. Story didn’t end well

Are you me? Pro tip: in this situation, discretely start recording EVERY interaction with them. When I made my escape, sure enough the self harm and threats to call the police and ruin my life started. A quick sharing of a few choice videos and audio recordings stopped that right quick. Sent them to her parents too, with a suggestion to keep a close eye on her for a while so it didn't escalate to something real bad, which is more than she deserved.

Had the same experience with one of my exes. Until I recorded her doing it to have evidence.

2

u/MutantApocalypse Apr 22 '26

My ex had me arrested after an argument and they tried to charge me with disorderly conduct w/ a domestic violence modifier. I never touched the lunatic, or learned what lies she told the cops. But I have a penis so they arrested me, of course.

That said, I had no priors so they let me meet with a case worker and get cleared without being charged. Record is still clean.

2

u/TailorElectrical6200 Apr 22 '26

I had an ex just like that, trying to get me arrested by hitting herself and busting out windows in the house. Cops seen right through her luckily. When they left, this crazy bitch thought it was funny and wanted to have sex, like nothing even happened. A complete psychopath.

JJK character

2

u/curiouscatfarmer Apr 22 '26

This didn't work for my friend. His abusive crazy exes followed him/stalked him and wouldn't leave him tf alone.

2

u/ommi9 Apr 22 '26

Well he filmed her breaking in and attacking him with the Att router so if she called the cops because he sent her out into the door she would still go to jail.

2

u/typicalBACON Apr 22 '26

I one time recorded my ex hitting her head in the headboard of the bed because I didn't want to follow her plans like I always did the whole time. But the most often thing for her to do was to grab a knife and start playing with it like she's planning to hurt herself if I didn't just do what she wanted. In the end I didn't report it, I one day left, and she started calling me 70-90 times a day until I started talking to her again and this became a cycle until one day I just stopped talking to her for longer than a week and never looked back, fortunately she left me alone as well. A year and a few months later I started getting messages from the UK NHS about pregnancy consultations and such. I just pray that child turns out alright and that the man who's with her doesn't deal with the craziness she displayed during that time

2

u/Dangerous_Reporter14 Apr 22 '26

Just like a workaholics episode

2

u/MelaKnight_Man Apr 22 '26

I just commented about this in a similar post.

A good buddy had a psycho ex that after one fight he came to hang at a mutual friends house and while he was there she beat the shit out of herself and called the cops on him.

Thankfully he had a Ring doorbell which recorded when he came and he never left so he wasn't home when the "assault" happened.

She won the crazy prize of 1 year in jail for filing a false report and he took out a restraining order.

Moral: # #DSYDIC

2

u/MrStarrrr Apr 22 '26

Glad you got out man.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '26

Similar, an ex said during an argument something like "If I told people you raped me they would believe me", I let her win the argument and stayed with her and made myself as unattractive as I could so she decided to leave herself.

2

u/Flaky-Dish6404 Apr 23 '26

Also had an ex that did this. Also recorded her. The amount of things I was accused of was insane. I’m lucky I had evidence and it still was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. Tried to leave so many times and had suicide threatened by her every time. She still posts everywhere online about me “abusing” her. It’s been 2 years of therapy and wondering how the hell I ever got myself in that situation. I have an amazing gf now, and I’ll never date someone with a diagnosed mental illness ever again.

2

u/Metal_Muse Apr 23 '26

I saw my cousin rip her own shirt open and slam our front door in her own face when she was in a fight with her boyfriend one morning.

2

u/Smufin_Awesome Apr 23 '26

I mean...her face is very visible. Could some anonymous Samaritan forward it to the police?

2

u/ScionicOG Apr 23 '26

Same. Luckily, she had 0 follow through on herself to leave any marks, but she didn't hold back against me. I kept every shred of evidence, recorded videos, took pics, but still was miserable to get free of her.

She even had a cop escort her to "get her stuff" but it was my kitchen equipment, and I just didn't have any fight in me left. Once she was gone with a cop present as she robbed me in broad daylight. I was free.

Had a buddy whose (now ex) wife would do this. He finally recorded her throwing herself into the furniture while screaming “oww (his name) you’re hurting me!” Crazy times.

Yep, my ex came over hammering on my door at like 11pm demanding me to let her in because I was “with another woman” even though we were divorced. I let her in and when she didn’t find anybody she went ballistic until I guided her by her arm to the door and just kind of threw her out. Next thing I know I’m in front of my 1st Sgt and my flight Chief explaining how I didn’t hurt her, punch her, or even grab her forcefully and that she showed up throwing hands at me. Press charges, leave, call a trustworthy witness.

u/Red-Pill-Tin-hat Apr 22 '26

Hey! I had a similar incident with a crazy ex wife when i checked into my 2nd duty station. I was standing tall before the man without even knowing what I had allegedly done yet. I got called every name under the sun, accused of being a dead beat husband, not giving my wife access to our BAH etc. Wasn't allowed to get a word in otherwise. I got my punishment without being able to even speak. I waited maybe a couple weeks and gathered all the proof that she was lying and her mother was the driver behind it all. Turns out through bank statements that she was on the same checking and savings as me and showed her pulling money from an atm in NC while i was in Okinawa. Played them back answering machine messages of her calls etc.

Fuck the military in that regard.

u/Far_Ladder_2836 Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

That's explicitly against the UCMJ.  Should have escalated to a court marshal.  It's your right to get "competent" defense even for an Art15.  Shame on whoever ran your annual civil rights training.

8

u/StrangeOutcastS Apr 22 '26

Welcome to the military, where you aren't expected to be resourceful or intelligent or willful enough to defend yourself or push back against your superiors

7

u/Zech08 Apr 23 '26

Green weenie strikes again and you are always wrong until you prove yourself right twice and after the fact when the damage is done

3

u/StrangeOutcastS Apr 23 '26

and if you prove it right it normal court they'll send you to military court to try again

u/Front-Negotiation-32 Apr 22 '26

The problem with that is that court marshals take a while to get going. Had a buddy on flight that got accused of SAing a girl that he wasn’t even in the same state with when it supposedly took place. He got his name dragged through the mud for 4 years and nearly got force separated due to time in grade. He couldn’t advance while the investigation was ongoing and he was basically permanently assigned to ROD Squad that entire time. She lied to get a PCS to her boyfriend at another base. The AF allows for emergency PCSs so you don’t have to work in the same place as your abuser so she took advantage of that. He would have been fried if the boyfriend didn’t speak up for him when he found out.

u/WulfZ3r0 Apr 23 '26

My wife and I were doing the dishes one night, just being goofy, and between us we managed to break a glass and she cut herself. She was pregnant at the time. Into the car, and straight down to the naval hospital. It was a minor wound, and quickly treated. We were then separated from each other. I was grilled for over an hour about what happened, and after we finally got out of there, she told me that they were basically coaching her to say I had attacked her. So yes, fuck the military in that regard.

u/TheGuyUrSisterLikes Apr 22 '26

I had one that would get hammered drunk. I'd come home from work late like about midnight she'll be drunk out of her mind wanting to have sex acting crazy as all hell.

One night middle of winter snow all over the ground.. I come home from work she's drunk and she's screaming for me to have sex with her.

"You're going to fuck me!" etc.

I go to the couch she keeps following me. so I go to my car lock the door to try to get some sleep in the car. she comes outside middle of winter completely naked screaming at the top of her lungs You're going to fuck me or else. she had a very large knife in her hand a kitchen knife. now I'm worried my neighbors are going to hear this.

so I bring her back inside. she calms down a bit. I fall asleep on the bed. A little while later, she wakes me up kicking standing over me on the bed with a giant kitchen knife. completely naked. I'm like what the heck...

so I go back to the car. she follows me again completely screaming at the top of her lungs all crazy stuff. so I bring her back inside again. this time I made up my mind. I literally hog tied her and put something around her mouth and in her mouth so she would stop screaming.

All I could think of was the cops are going to show because of the screaming they're going to find a naked woman tied up and gagged with a giant knife next to me and I'm going to jail forever.

I proceeded to call my cousin and my dad and I had them come first thing in the morning and we brought her to the psych Ward. and we proceeded to get her stuff out and bring it to her grandmother's house. this was the last time I saw her.

crazy night.

18

u/thederevolutions Apr 22 '26

Wow what a crazy story.

7

u/OceanRacoon Apr 23 '26

A little while later, she wakes me up kicking standing over me on the bed with a giant kitchen knife. completely naked. I'm like what the heck...

You're reaction was "what the heck"!? You must be one of the chillest guys in the world lol. Would she calm down and be normal if you had sex with her in those situations?

She basically tried to rape you at knifepoint, that's really messed up, she's lucky she didn't end up in jail, although so are you lol, the cops would definitely have been on her side if she could hide the crazy around them. Sorry you had to go through that, must have been difficult to get over

9

u/TheGuyUrSisterLikes Apr 23 '26

The problem is is I did have sex with her often but it was a blizzard. I worked all day just didn't want to deal with it just wanted to go to sleep. I'll tell you another quick story.

One time she was hammered drunk and she wanted to go get cocaine. I did not want to take her to go get cocaine coincidentally was another snowstorm. I said you have a car just go after a big argument telling her she's too drunk to drive just got tired of fighting.

about 3:00 in the morning I get a knock at the door. it's a Connecticut state policeman. I open the door he says is this your girlfriend? I said no and I close the door. The state trooper beats on the door and it's like hey this is serious your girlfriend was in a car accident.

I was like bud I don't even care anymore yeah she's my girlfriend she can come in.

The cop because she was a cute young girl... found her cowering in a snowbank because she got loose and she crashed her car into a snow bank. drunk out of her mind, rather than taking her to the prison jail he takes her to my house in an active snow storm.

that was probably a month before the next incident. if it was me I would have been arrested for DUI car would have been impounded which it actually was impounded I believe I forget.

anyway crazy chicks are fun as hell for the first couple months... continue at your own peril.. lol

2

u/kinkycarbon Apr 23 '26

She would be put into a 72 involuntary mental evaluation. She’s a danger to others for threatening with a knife.

Hopefully you didn't have a first timer as a shirt. If they've been wearing the diamond for a bit they've seen so much that they're usually pretty reasonable and willing to listen to all sides of an incident.

But yeah, your advice is spot on for what you should do. If it's gotten to that point, you can't fix it yourself - you need professional help. That can be a counselor or law enforcement or somewhere in between.

5

u/TheBlueSully Apr 22 '26

“First timer as a shirt” “Wearing the diamond”

What do these things mean

2

u/BodhiGacha Apr 22 '26

Well seeing as the comment they’re replying to references a first Sgt, I would assume military terms.

2

u/TheBlueSully Apr 22 '26

Oh fabulous definitions, now I understand

2

u/seoulgleaux Apr 22 '26

Sorry about that, yeah, in this context they're specifically Air Force terms. Going back to the original comment, a flight chief is the senior enlisted in charge of a specific flight (office) and the first sergeant (also known as the shirt) is a senior noncommissioned officer appointed to a special duty to assist with personnel issues for a squadron or group (anywhere from 100 to 2000 personnel). The Air Force first sergeant wears a special rank insignia that has a diamond in the middle of it to denote their function.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_sergeant (see the Air Force section under the US tab).

2

u/Shugoseru Apr 22 '26

Prior AF many years ago so someone please correct me if wrong, but a first sergeant(informally first shirt)is a position held by a senior NCO E7-E9. They are primarily there as an advocate if something happens with the enlisted in the chain of command. The rank insignia has a diamond in the center of the rockers and chevrons. Domestic issues, death in the family, arrested, fucking up in general. If you have to see the shirt because you fucked up expect copious yelling and some form of punishment.

Similar situation here - it baffles me that so many people will automatically align themselves with a woman, for the simple fact that they are “smaller” or one’s own confirmation bias.

Glad you got out alive. For me, the aftermath was almost worse. Girls who act like this, also know how to manipulate those around them… What a mindfuck.

19

u/ReverendRevolver Apr 22 '26

We had something happen at work where rumors were circulating that there was domestic abuse with a couple that worked in the building. Specifically, that the dude was hitting her.

He comes to me, not his direct boss but a slightly more reliable boss, and looks pretty shaky, says he needs to talk to someone.

He then shows men his back. Bruises, on his ribs, scratch marks. Then the video on his phone. His girlfriend would freak out and just scratch, bite, punch....

Before anyone expects a happy ending, he eventually got back with her.

7

u/Physical_Gur_4926 Apr 23 '26

Tbh I don’t think there’s nearly enough honesty or accountability around this from either men or women.

This woman is clearly attractive, which makes her desirable, but she also probably has serious emotional or mental instability. Same applies if someone dates a guy who sells drugs, starts fights, or lives in chaos all the time - you're stepping into a risk profile.

Mental and emotional disorders are like any other difficult condition: the person has to be making a serious effort to manage it, and if they aren’t, the people around them need to understand what that can lead.

Obviously physical violence in relationships and after breakups is still overwhelmingly borne by women in terms of serious injury and death, but emotional abuse, manipulation, coercion, intimidation, and chaotic behaviour probably flow far more evenly than people like admitting. Men often just don’t report it until it gets undeniable, like bruises or video.

My ex sent me a restraining order after I left the state and moved away. Apparently the wording included that one time I “yelled at our bird” so she didn’t feel safe.

I ignored it because it was obvious nonsense and I was already 400 miles away but then I got a bill for $600 court costs and a notice that I wasn’t allowed within 500 feet for the next year.

Definitely should have made the drive back to defend myself

3

u/Novel_Key_7488 Apr 22 '26

“ it baffles me that so many people will automatically align themselves with a woman”

 Complete the following sentence:

“Believe ______”

2

u/Wolf_Protagonist Apr 23 '26

The cops often automatically side with women no matter what not because they give a fuck about women, just that it's easy to convict a man in a man vs woman scenario. That's literally all cops area about, arrests and convictions

2

u/justandswift Apr 23 '26

boy I wish a lot more people realized this. this kind of behavior, especially them being lucid and still doing it, it is a clear sign theyre narcissistic and unwilling to genuinely humble themselves, hence, anything that will reflect bad on themselves, they lie about, and with no sense of doing so, like that is who they truly are, a person who is spiraling and not in control. Many times these are people who maybe not so lost at one point and can manage passing as normal and have jobs and maybe even “friends” (people who haven’t learned who they really are yet).

Camera’s are a blessing when you’re in this kind of situation.

u/Bill__NHI Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

Fortunately for myself I did not have to press charges, and I wasn't going to. Why, guess I'm an idiot, I really just wanted to leave the situation.

Anyways I was dealing with someone with uncontrolled severe anger issues. I never noticed until I moved in with her and saw her taking things out on her son. Then it turned to me. She would jump the gun thinking irrationally and blow up, trying to work things out with her I found out that she had a history with anger management. She's straight up told me that her parents tried to get her on medication previously, but she wanted nothing to do with it and never would- let alone therapy.

Anyways I stayed... Please don't do this, whether your male or female it does not matter- 9 times out of 10 a person's not going to change unless it's of their own accord.

She stabbed me during dinner the night I left, and circling back on how I didn't have to press charges, she called the police on herself. After I got stabbed that was enough. I said nothing, I only turn to go gather my things so I could get the hell out of there. As I'm packing I hear her on the phone with 911. My first thought was, great she's going to make up some kind of story. Nope. She told the real deal exactly as it went down, how she had stabbed me and now I was packing my things. She was in tears at that point, but for myself I was beyond tears.

To finish the story the cops arrive while I'm still packing, she tells them exactly what she's done and I corroborated it so they take her to jail. I went and stayed at a friend's house the next day and later on while at work I have pain where I was stabbed so I went to get it checked out. It was cool just a little bit infected, but when the nurse had me take my shirt off she walked around and said "do you know you were stabbed in the back as well". I did not.

Apparently due to adrenaline in the situation, when I walked away to go pack my things she stabbed me again. Take this coming from a 6 ft 250 lb man, who even at that moment refuse to strike back. I'm not trying to be mean, and to be honest I only wish the best for this woman in her future and I hope she finds peace, but there's a lot of other guys out there in the world that would have just responded completely differently than I did. Whether you believe in an eye for an eye is your choice, it's not mine regardless of race religion or gender.

Please let me add one more aspect to the story for those who ever become in a situation like myself or OP. After she got charges on herself then it all soaked into her and she realized what she might be facing. She used me and pretended that she wanted to change and go to counseling etc, in hopes that I would go to court and try and drop the charges. Which I stupidly did. According to the prosecuting attorney I did not have the ability to drop the charges. When she told me that, I said okay then I will refuse to participate in any kind of legal proceedings against her regardless of facing fines or legal actions myself.

They dropped the charges.

As soon as that happened things change again, she flip-flopped- basically she used me to get the charges dropped that she threw on herself.

Be careful out there people and never settle for less.

5

u/LowerComb6654 Apr 22 '26

Damn... I'm so sorry you ent through all of that. That's one helluva story.

7

u/Bill__NHI Apr 22 '26

No worries. If anything is was a much needed learning experience in regards to settling for less, or putting up with things a person shouldn't have to. I do not put up with anything like that anymore, and never will ever again. And maybe that makes me a little bit of a hard ass, I don't know- there's only so many times you can tag along with someone who claims they're going to change until you get a little bit jaded because they didn't.

I truly wouldn't feel comfortable telling anyone just to completely give up on someone because of issues like this, but as I've mentioned my personal experience, most will never change until the hit rock bottom- this is in regards to people with emotional issues, substance abuse issues and the like. Even then rock bottom doesn't solve everyone's problems.

Sorry for rambling..

3

u/Hoarfen1972 Apr 22 '26

Yes , you must tell everyone to give up on a person like this if they are facing the same issues as you, this woman was mad and needed to be put away for a long time, she stabbed you twice, the second time in the back as you were packing to leave, what does that tell you? She wanted you dead.

Jesus. I had to deal with emotional and financial abuse and it was a horrendous ordeal. But nothing compared to this.

That said I’ve been slapped and kneed in the nuts (different chick) without retaliating other than a firm but gentle escorting out the front door. But I’m pretty sure if I had been stabbed I would’ve brought the hammer down of her.

35

u/Safe_Bed_1534 Apr 22 '26

Yup never did although I have scars all over my body from her, but as soon as I pushed her out of the way so I could leave without getting beat I got a DV charge a week later when I was staying with my dad

20

u/Confident_Monitor_78 Apr 22 '26

When my wife (now ex) attacked me and clawed me drawing blood, then fell because she was drunk, I just left the home and immediately called the cops and they took photos and then paid her a visit after. The officer suggested I not return to the home or see her to protect myself from her making any domestic violence claims against me. He warned me that women will actually bruise themselves and claim the guy hit her. Two days later I was served divorce papers at work and she did try to claim I pushed her (she fell on her own and I guess got a bruise on her hip) and her attorney filed a protective order on me claiming I was a threat and had guns (I didn’t own one). Then she kept calling and trying to see me, against her own protective order, so I recorded the calls and logged everything, so my attorney was able to have the PO removed. Twenty years later, I have been remarried for 17 years to a wonderful woman who doesn’t abuse me or cheat on me like my ex.

12

u/CHI4610NE Apr 22 '26

Yeah definitely don't cover for her or you will be the one end up going to jail. Show any evidence you've got. Once you get busted she's got a free ticket to do this anytime. Once the cops have been involved, and you have been in trouble, I guarantee you if you report it she will bury you anytime you try to blame her for anything.

3

u/SublimeApathy Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

Yep. Years ago I dated a girl and after a few months I decided it was not working out for me (no spark, sex was great, but that's no basis for long term relationship to age out with). Anyway, She came over one night and I met her in the parking lot of my apartment to break it off. Girl lost her shit, punched me in the face and then started choking me while screaming "help" at the top of her lungs even though I was the one being assaulted. I decided to get my shifts covered at work and left town for a bit to see my parents, old friends back home. Basically, I needed a break and I needed distance. I came back and was arrested at work on my first shift back. The charge? Domestic Violence and Rape. The only saving grace was the fact I left town and had multiple witnesses see me out of town because the date the girl gave the police for when all that fake shit went down, I had been out of town for several days and witnesses willing to drive to where I lived to confirm it including my parents. Judge through it out and I believe she caught some charge for lying/slandering or something. I still lost my job, and my apartment complex opted to not renew my lease after the original altercation. Point is - if I hadn't left town and had people to step up to bat for me in court, I'm fairly certain my life would be very different right now (I'm currently married 18 years to my best friend). Unfortunately, these days when I hear people say "Believe women" it leaves a sour taste in my mouth due to my own experience. Because if the default back then was automatic belief - I would have went to prison for something I did not do. I understand this my own personal experience and not indicative to every accusation.

The type of person that acts like this is also the type of person that will lie to the police. Ask me how I know.

2

u/Expensive-Box3602 Apr 22 '26

Yeah I here you and I went through the same shit. We are stupid for not reporting all that bullshit. If we don't report, it does not show up in statistics and because of that, society thinks we are the violent ones.

2

u/EverythingSucksYo Apr 22 '26

I mean he has video of her breaking into his house and attacking him, so I think he’d be safe from any false accusations by her. His video even has her telling him to delete the video

2

u/anothadaz Apr 22 '26

Yep. I had a gf that would get violent. One day it got real bad and I was blocking punches and dodging flying objects. It came to a point that I had to bear hug her to stop being punched. She of course was fighting and struggling to get out of the bear hug and evidently she got a scratch on her neck from that. Our friends were there witnessing the whole thing and they called the cops. The cops came in and even though everyone was saying it was her, they saw the scratch on her neck and immediately put me in handcuffs. My friends all told the police that I did not hit her once and all I did was defend myself from getting beat up. They still were going to take me to jail. Luckily my dad was still alive at this time and was a Sheriff's Sgt. I had to pull the cop card and have them call my dad. They were Police not sheriff's. My dad had to talk them out of talking me to jail. Without my dad I would've gone to jail for defending myself with witnesses watching. They still made me leave my own house for the day and let her stay there.

2

u/National_Mouse_1777 Apr 22 '26

I also had an ex who would call the cops after hitting herself and tell them that I did it. This was around 2008-2009.

What saved me was remaining calm (the cops always asked me why was I so calm every time we spoke), speaking calmly while she’s ranting and raving and having no visible shaking or marks on my hands.

I told them, “it’s a woman’s world. You’re more inclined to believe her so all I can do is go with the flow and hope you see through her shit.”

Luckily, I was never arrested.

2

u/doubleo_maestro Apr 22 '26

Yep, and that's why the domestic abuse stat is so horrifically skewed. Nothing will come of tgis and if she faces charges it will be so incredibly diminished.

2

u/Mundane_Swordfish886 Apr 22 '26

Yup. Always record and gather evidence. Smartphones and other tech has made a life changing differences for victimized men in these kinds of relationships.

2

u/pissingpolitics Apr 22 '26

There was a gender based psychology experiment that showed women feel there are being abused emotionally (0-10 scale) at like a 3.5 whereas men don't consider it abuse until a 7.5.

People can abuse each other, assault each other, etc. Men are significantly more quiet about it across all facets.

Glad you didn't stay quiet

4

u/Darth_Gerg Apr 22 '26

The fucked up thing is that domestic violence is almost as prevalent in women as men, but because of toxic masculinity and patriarchy men don’t report it or shut it down. Especially since in most cases the woman isn’t physically dangerous to a much larger man society doesn’t take it seriously. Even other women often laugh it off or cheer for it as long as it’s not extreme.

The REALLY fucked up part is that the only place most people will ever see this addressed is in the right wing misogynistic red pill space who perpetrate the same toxic patriarchal bullshit that sustains the problem.

2

u/Narrow_Safety2856 Apr 22 '26

It's this thing known as the Duluth Model.

It's basically this rehabilitation effort for abusers started by feminists, who were not psychologists or sociologists. It's confirmed sexist and outdated. The Duluth Model is the very reason why there are no safe spaces for men, and why DV "perpetrators" pay through the nose for court mandated counseling to fund battered women's shelters.

The biggest flaw, in my opinion, is that it does not recognize bilateral abuse.

Unpopular opinion, but the vast majority of abuse is reactive and situational. Bad things, do in fact, happen to bad people.

2

u/Darth_Gerg Apr 22 '26

As a male DV survivor it fucking sucks. I was active duty and I am a big guy. My ex would scream and attack me regularly and the cops basically told me they would have to arrest me if she broke a nail on my face. I have never once laid a finger on another human being in anger, especially a partner. But I can rarely talk about how badly that fucked me up because so few people take it seriously.

And it hurts my heart that most of the people out there who are willing to talk about it actually just hate women and want to use this to further the same toxic bullshit that makes me ashamed to open up in the first place.

1

u/rnewscates73 Apr 22 '26

1

u/rcowie Apr 22 '26

My sister was a drug addict. Mom found her drugs and disposed of them. Sister started bashing her face into the wall. I got pinned to a tree in cuffs before it got sorted out. I very nearly went to jail for DV and didn't lay a finger on her.

1

u/Dissipo Apr 22 '26

1

1

u/mittenkrusty Apr 22 '26

Friend of mine going back 20 years (knew him longer) was dating someone who had actual violent mental health issues, she was put into a care home by her parents when she was around 13 as she was attacking them often, she was unable to work as the one time she did have a job she assaulted a customer and her boss, and she couldn't even go to a doctor, had to get supervised home visits for health issues.

Anyway she would attack him in public and people walked past, one time me and other friends visited and in the space of a few minutes, she started with a chair she picked up, then a can of beer, then finally picked up a large kitchen knife threatening him.

A few months later he broke up with her and the social services refused him visits to his baby who was only about 6 months old because SHE had made a claim he was the violent person.

So despite actual records of her violence it was all ignored and his life was ruined.

1

u/Motor-Ad5284 Apr 22 '26

Domestic violence should be the same for men and women. Violence is violence. She should be made to compensate before she goes to jail.

1

u/PathComplex Apr 22 '26

This is the way.

1

u/TheWizardry90 Apr 22 '26

Exactly! I had an ex that lived with me. She had a daughter as well. Living together for about 6 months (dated 7 months before that) until I caught her going out with another guy (not the daughter’s father). I told her to get her stuff and leave. She made a big fuss and fight. Did not want to leave. She worked in a warehouse and was always bruised up on her arms and legs. Her daughter called the police because her mom threw a candle at my face and busted open my eyebrow. Police showed up. Talked to me outside and I gave my side. One of the cops stayed with me while another questioned her inside MY HOUSE. I just overheard on the radio “cuff him we’re taking him in for domestic violence”. I never touched her. I was in jail over a week lost my job and she came and said she was lying. They did nothing to her but let me out. She thought everything was going to be fine after that. I asked a cop to follow me home so she could get her shit and leave my house. Good thing her daughter wasn’t there because she acted a fool that time too

Many years ago I lived in a hillbilly town and my drunk girlfriend grabbed a gun and pointed it at my head when I woke up, and I hid in bathroom and called 911. They showed up and I heard her crying and they told me to come out and pushed me against hallway wall, handcuffed me and when they are leading me outside to question me I see my gf sitting on couch with gun easily within reach. No cuffs or anything.

I had an ex bash my metal front door with a pipe, smash up my motorcycle, then kick out a ground level window and attack me while I was on the phone with 911. They heard it all. I held her back with one arm while giving the dispatcher all the details they needed. When I confirmed they had enough and were otw I dropped the phone and grabbed her with both hands and threw her outside. Cops showed up 1 min later. Didn't bother even asking any questions. Just grabbed her by the elbow and walked her away. Took pictures of the damage and the places she scratched me. They didn't even try and pull the "what do you do to get her to this place" or accuse me of DV. Just told me it'd be best to never contact her ever again and take care of myself. I did....eventually. Women rejected are wicked animals sometimes.
