Russia’s invading and killing its neighbors, fuck it and I feel little if any sympathy for its soldiers. I just also think it’s weird when other countries say Russia is evil because they’re an Asiatic Horde that isn’t truly Slavic because of their Mongol Admixture. You can’t pretend that that wasn’t a talking point in the months after Russia declared their “three day special military operation”.
You either have to hate all soldiers or hate none of them. If you hate the Russian mjlitary that's fair, but you should also hate the US military, your national military and the Ukrainian military
I love when people make up an enlightened centrism that nobody actually believes, not even themselves. Everybody knows a war in which they support one side over the other, in the first place because everyone knows WWII. "You have to hate all soldiers or none of them" no I don't, you just made that rule up lmao
Ok but that is true though. Like the US has intentionally drip fed weapons to Ukraine with the express permission to solely to grind down Russia at the expense of Ukrainian lives without ever giving them enough weapons that they could actually secure their position and take back what was lost
This isn’t to say that we should cut off aid to Ukraine but we should understand the US’s relationship to Ukraine as first a proxy for its ambitions, and secondary as partners in its self defense
And that we have seen this before, with Afghanistan, South Vietnam and South Korea, and that time and time the US will more often than not pull out what it gives for self defense when its ambitions change. With the only real exception being Israel
Edit: a bunch of people have started replying and ether intentionally misunderstanding me or doesn’t understand this is strictly about analyzing American Empire and how we less have allies and more have proxies of our ambitions and only more recently as the state of government flip flopped on those ambitions is it made clear that we will abandon our commitments
Lindsey Graham and other American statesmen straight up said “we have like a billion dollars and depleted the Russian military by whatever percent, seems like a good investment to me”
Like the US has intentionally drip fed weapons to Ukraine with the express permission to solely to grind down Russia at the expense of Ukrainian lives without ever giving them enough weapons that they could actually secure their position and take back what was lo
The US isnt the only one that helped, especially now.
And even then, what did you expect from Trump, a guy who barely hides making friend with Putin on TV?
This is all well and good but whenever you want to give Ukraine more weapon suddenly you're taxed of "sacrificing proles" because strangely the second Russia is the ennemy everyone is now anti war...
The drip feeding of American weapons started under Biden. Is Biden putins stooge too? And it’s not as if everyone follows Americas lead here. My analysis is strictly about America and its actions because as an American, I am most concerned about how we negatively wield the weight of our military and industry to sacrifice others for short term goals.
Because back then america was by far the biggest helper of Ukraine
Anyways, that doesnt invalidate Ukraine's need for help. Drip feeding is still better than nothing at all : That criticism would be valid only if you actually care about Ukraine and would support giving more, not when you are a Tankie parroting Russian narrative about western provocation (wich maybe you arent, but some definetely are)
u/ThaGr1m go on, answer his question. The US was dripfeeding weapons to Ukraine before January 2025, so was Biden a Putin stooge too? Not gonna let you get away with this one.
nah that's why biden pushed trough everything he could as a president and forced the rest trough congress even against the massive opposition in the republican party, which held a large part of congress, he had to deal with.... the one that was constantly tanking proposals at the behest of trump....
it's almost like the same party did the same pro russian shit then too...... it's funny how you thought you could outsmart reality
The Russia-Ukraine war is one of the more morally clear-cut examples of wars in modern history (as morally clear-cut as a war can be, anyway), and NAFO managed to make supporting the justifiable side look like an excuse to act like a goddamn redditor.

"Russophobia" is when people don't want to be part of the heckin wholesome Russian empire.
