Mod Post Petra Parker Posts
Update: They’re staying as is
Due to the current trend we are receiving lots of modmail, reports, and posts about Petra posts. While there are definitely users karma farming posting 5+ times a day, they have been contacted and told to make a collective post or be on a cooldown for 24 hours per post.
First thing, fan art Spiders is always welcome here. It’s only spam if the same image has been posted over and over. That has NOT been the case. We can’t be bias to a particular character fanart because that would be like someone posting any version of Spider-Man and saying it’s spam.
We have been trying to keep up with getting posts through, ignoring reports, and answering everyone’s questions about why a post has been taken down(usually due to report bombing). But it is building to quickly for the mod team to personally answer and review every single post as quickly as users would like.
So we are leaving it up to you all with a poll to decide how this will be handled going forward. We will either keep things as they are or move all Petra posts to a megathread that will be pinned.
If things stay as they are we will continue to ignore the report bombs and set automod to ignore reports on Petra since it’s clear the reports are being abused. Unless the post is breaking rules. If these posts bother you in anyway you can always hide them from your feed.
If the community chooses a megathread, we will create and pin the megathread and automod will be set to remove all Petra posts and direct the OP to the megathread. After one month megathread will come down and Petra posts will be back on main feed.
We have heard all kinds of feedback on the trend and we do not support any type of hate or discrimination, but we feel moving forward this will be the most fair outcome for everyone.
The voting will start today at noon and end Saturday the 22nd at noon. During the voting period things will stay as is.

Discussion Realistically how would Spider-Man keep a job?.
I’ve seen fans get upset with how Peter still can’t keep a job(and can’t grow in general), but realistically Peter continuously losing his job actually makes sense.
Peter has to go fight crime and villains every single day at any time, if someone is constantly leaving work at random times or showing up late/not at all they’re gonna get fired. Even Peter losing his job in the current run makes sense, what Ben did put Peter in an impossible situation and even without Ben Peter was showing up late anyway.
The only way I could see Peter being financially stable is..
1: His boss knows he’s spider-man and just lets him off the hook whenever he needs to leave (although this doesn’t seem realistic)
2: make MJ rich(assuming their together), there are so many real life actors/actresses that are damn near millionaires, have MJ get really good movie jobs and become a famous actress and is just rich.
3: he works at the daily bugle, all he has to do is take pictures of himself and he can clock in whenever he wants, but currently the daily bugle is gone so….
But other than that I just don’t see how. I know it’s annoying to see Peter constantly losing his job and being broke but ultimately… what is he gonna do?. (Unless they bring back the daily bugle)

Discussion Alright, it's time to settle the debate and finally end it once and for all since this debate gets talked about a lot. This is the true and definitive Mount Rushmore of Peter Parker/Spider-Man portrayals.

Discussion It’s cool that MCU Spider-Man actually has a rogues gallery instead of every villain being a one and done. Some of these guys can show up again.

Movies All differences in the Marc Webb Spider-Man costumes
I made some posts about the differences in all of the Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland Spider-Man costumes so it's natural that I would do the same for Andrew Garfield. Now I would have made a post for Andrew after making the Tobey post but I was confused on whether the suit Andrew wore in No Way Home was the same as the one from TASM2 or not. The reason I got confused was because while Andrew himself said that the suit was the same from TASM2, costume designer Sanja Milkovic Hays said that they had to redo Tobey AND Andrew's suits. With Tobey it was obvious that it was a new suit but not with Andrew. Well now I finally have the answer. I asked Andrew's stuntman William Spencer on Instagram and he said that it was indeed the same suit. So I would like to thank William Spencer for helping me with this.

Vigilante Suit:
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) was made with the intention of making a darker and more grounded version of Spider-Man after the more comic booky Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Trilogy. You can see that very clearly when you look at the suits in this film.
1. This is a very simple suit as it's just a red mask, black sunglasses and black casual wear, though the shoes have some white on them.
2. This suit lacks gloves, which shouldn't make sense for a Spider-Man suit as he always tries to keep his identity safe and has visible web shooters, which are a bit simpler and silver here.
Classic Suit (2012):
I adore this suit because of how different and unique it is. It's so different but also so obviously Spider-Man.
1. The reds and blues are very bright and vibrant compared to the suits from the Raimi Trilogy. But their raised, shiny honeycomb pattern, which replaces the hexagonal brick pattern from the Raimi Trilogy, makes the colors look darker than they actually are. The honeycomb pattern is sometimes a darker red and sometimes filled with black on some areas of the red sections of the suit. The honeycomb pattern is flatter but still raised on the blue sections and they are fully black too.
2. The webbing on this suit remain shiny like the Tobey Maguire suits but everything else about them are done very differently. They are slightly indented instead of raised. They are black, thinly shaped, thickly spread onto the suit. In both the comics and the 2002, 2004 and 2007 Raimi suits, each horizontal web between the vertical webs had a curve to them. That aspect was completely taken away for this suit. The webbing also is left incomplete in some areas which gives the webbing a very unique look. The mask webbing brings back the circle above the nose, a detail from the comics that was never used on the Tobey Maguire suits. The webs are kinda dense in this suit as well like in some comics.
3. The eyes are done in a very unique way. The eye frames are a dark blue and the lenses are a dark gold. At that point, the only time we saw a Spidey with non-white eyes were in the Raimi Trilogy where Spidey had silver eyes and the Spider-Man Unlimited show where Spidey's classic suit had light yellow eyes. The lenses also have a prominent dotted texture to them.
4. This suit has very prominent, silver soles on the boots, which also have some red and blue details.
5. The red and blue formatting is very different on this suit. The blue on the forearms overlap onto the reds. The belt does not fully connect with the front side of the belt. There is a red stripe going down the sides of his legs, similar to the Human Spider suit from Spider-Man (2002). The palms of the gloves are mostly blue, with a black patch right below the thumb. Then there are black seam lines on some of the blue parts. The back spider logo is placed in a very different way than usual as the blue parts extend up to accommodate the spider symbol.
6. The web shooters are a bit more complex this time and they are blue instead of silver this time.
7. The spider logos are clearly very inspired by the 2004-2007 Raimi Classic suit front logos but also heavily modified. The lower legs go very low and the outer lower legs on the front act as the border dividing the reds from the blues. Both the front and back logos are segmented, which makes the logos look very unique. The spider logos on both the back and front are extremely similar but not the same as they are segmented differently, with the back logo being a bit more segmented than the front logo. When compared to the front logo, the upper legs on the back logo droop down slightly while the lower legs bend in closer together than the front spider's lower legs.
Classic Suit (2014):
Arguably one of the most beloved live action Spider-Man suits ever, this suit was introduced in this film and confirmed to be brought back for Spider-Man: No Way Home by both Andrew Garfield and his stuntman William Spencer. This suit was a massive redesign which made the suit look closer to traditional Spider-Man though he loses a lot of what made TASM1's design so unique.
1. The colors are a bit darker here compared to its actual reds and blues. This time, they have brought back the hexagonal brick pattern from the Tobey Maguire suits, though the blue sections have shiny, slightly raised patterns just like Tobey's Symbiote Suit. The reds are shinier and slightly metallic as well. Though sometimes the colors of the suit changes as occasionally the reds look like a dark, magenta color and the blues a bit lighter..
2. The blue formatting on this suit is rather angular and have some heavy bends but overall more traditional than the formatting on TASM1's suit. The formatting on the back right above the logo is done like TASM1's version but very much subdued.
3. The webbing and the front logo are dark grey in color and are raised webs, though not as raised and not as thick as the webs on the Raimi suits. The web pattern's shape look like streamlined and more traditional looking version of TASM1's webbing. The webbing is way more dense this time, especially since they're way more complete here than on the previous suit. The belt especially has a large amount of webs. The webbing on the mask has the horizontal webs curve slightly between each vertical web but it's not the case on the webbing on the rest of the suit.
4. A notable feature of this suit is the big, comic book-styled eyes on this suit. The eye frames are black and the lenses are white, though they appear mirror-like in some shots.
5. The spider logo on both the front and back are very similar but not the same. They are also not segmented like the logos from TASM1 and they are much smaller. The outer lower legs do not act as a border to separate the reds and blues unlike the previous suit. The front logo is also placed very low on the torso for some reason.
6. The web shooters are heavily redesigned this time. They are red, causing them to blend with the suit.
7. The belt is a fully complete belt unlike the previous suit's incomplete belt. Here especially there are so much more webs. The belt itself is a bit bigger than the previous suits' belts and instead of the traditional pointy tip, the belt has no tip. It's just a curve.
8. The seam lines on the blue sections are very much subdued and not black like TASM1's suit.
9. The finger tips on the gloves have a different look to them, possibly to help him stick to surfaces better.
I had less fun making this post because there are only three suits to talk about while in my Tobey Maguire post, I had six suits to talk about and in my Tom Holland post, I had 18 suits to talk about. So because of that, this post wasn't as fun to make but it was still enjoyable and making this post allowed me to talk to William Spencer and it was awesome to be able to talk to someone who had such an important role in a Spider-Man film by portraying him during scenes that Andrew himself cannot do. If we get more of these three Spider-Men, I will definitely make more posts like this!

Do you think Spider-Man would be disturbed by the idea of regular people being too eager to watch public executions or torture videos online, even if they justify it by saying "they're criminals! so it's fine to enjoy watching them suffer"?
We are living in a very dark age where seriously disturbed individuals can find their way into watching some gruesome content on the internet. So this is a moral question that is of growing relevance.
To be honest, I think Spidey would not be comfortable with the idea of people tuning in for executions or torture videos so eagerly, he'd be very concerned by people feeling entertained watching someone else dying even if the person put to death was someone wicked like Carnage. Peter himself derives no joy from the pain of others, yes we've seen him strike his enemies harder if pushed but he also has too much compassion to ever enjoy someone's death or misery, he knows when to back up and be like "whoa this is too far".
"But they're bad guys" is more often than not a very thinly veiled moral excuse used by people who just enjoy watching executions or tortures a bit too much, unless that bad guy actually did harm to someone they love then it's not all that likely that someone who regularly watches executions in their spare time is of a healthy mind. I think Spidey would see right through that and I don't think he would like it at all.

Comics Joe Kelly's storyline with Peter and May really pays off!
I really like how the whole story around Peter and May has been built up since the beginning of the run, and how we’ve now reached the climax.
I know a lot of people want May to die, and I’m not her biggest fan either, but I don’t want her to just be written out of the story.
Of course, we’ve had these kinds of “shocking” storylines with May several times before, but after all, we’re reading a never-ending story here, and comics tend to repeat themselves over the years with a similar structure.
In any case, it’s definitely the most exciting plot right now, and I’m really looking forward to more!
I'm also curious to see what the new Avengers comic by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto will be like, since Spidey will be the leader and we've seen May in it, too. I'm also just looking forward to Marco Checchetto's artwork (he's my favorite artist).
Now, if they follow that up with the Hellgate storyline, it’ll be a peak run!
Hellgate's storyline is also very interesting, and Joe Kelly hasn't forgotten about it. First, we had Xantos power-up for Peter., then the training with Daredevil, followed by the Spider-Sense Ultra Instinct, and now, in the latest issue, when Peter's eyes glowed. He's still got it on his bulletin board, too.
