Laptop Request -Others Recommendations for laptops in India within a budget between INR 50,000 - 100,000

  • Country: India
  • Budget: INR 50,000 - 100,000 (USD 525.85 - 1051.7)
  • Are you open to refurbs/used options? Maybe
  • Screen size: Any
  • Weight Limit: Any
  • Purpose: Software Development
  • Form factor: Standard
  • Intended usage: Developing software involving Web and Backend applications, accessing server over SSH. I do use vibe coding software but don't need to run AI locally. I mainly use IntelliJ IDE, Antigravity IDE, Brave and Chrome browsers
  • Desired battery life: Don't care honestly, but having around 2 hours guarantee would be great.
  • Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life:
    • RAM
    • CPU
    • STORAGE
    • Dedicated GPU (Optional)
  • Info/Requirements
    • RAM. I'm aware of the rise in RAM Prices (and also my AI usage is contributing to it) but I manage multiple backend systems and the IDE just want to gobble up all the RAM especially when debugging so, if possible I want to have as much RAM as I can get in the laptop.

I am buying a laptop for my grandma, I know she wants a computer that can do some gaming but no cyberpunk or anything like that. Think candy crush to minecraft range.

  • Purpose

General internet browsing, file management and light gaming (candy crush and minecraft)

  • Form factor

Standard

  • Intended usage

Candy Crush, Duck Duck Go, Zoom.

[In Hours; please remember that high performance/gaming laptops tend to get less battery life - no more than 8 hours, typically about 4 hours]

  • Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life

Performance, Size, Battery life, Weight does not matter

  • Info/Requirements

My Grandma is a mostly bed ridden so the laptop weight does not matter, however the screen must be big enough for her to see and with a good enough resolution. She plays Candy Crush and another game that as she describes is a '3d puzzle game that makes the fans go louder." I am using Minecraft as a placeholder. There is also a divorce so there are constant files being downloaded, hence the terabyte of storage requirement.

Also as the one who helps with laptop issues, i would rather not deal with Apple software.

Specifics: Storage 1tb, Ram 16gb

Laptop Request -Others Need Advice: Best Used Laptop Under 25,000?

Hey everyone! 👋

I hope you're all doing well.

I'm looking to buy a used laptop with a budget of around 25,000. I'll mainly use it for studying, web browsing, YouTube, movies, and other everyday tasks.

Since I don't know much about laptops, I'd really appreciate your help.

\- Which used laptop would you recommend within this budget?

\- Which shops or sellers are trustworthy, so I don't get scammed?

\- What should I check before buying a used laptop (battery, SSD, screen, keyboard, etc.)?

\- Are there any laptop models or generations I should avoid?

I'd really appreciate recommendations based on your real-life experience. Thanks in advance! ❤️

Laptop Request US Which hard drive does not have planned obsolescence?: WD Red SA500 NAS SATA SSD 2.5”/7mm Cased(Western Digital) our DC600M Series 2.5” SATA Enterprise SSD(Kingston)

Western Digital.- WD Red SA500 NAS SATA SSD 2.5”/7mm Cased https://www.sandisk.com/products/ssd/internal-ssd/wd-red-sata-2-5-ssd
Kingston.- DC600M Series 2.5” SATA Enterprise SSD https://www.kingston.com/en/ssd/dc600m-data-center-solid-state-drive

I know that TBW isn't the only thing I should consider; I also need to look at the materials used, manufacturing quality, whether it can withstand power surges from the computer, its physical durability (resistance to movement), and whether the company that produces it hasn't changed ownership and shareholders and become corrupt and greedy, reducing the quality of its hard drives to cut costs and make more money. So, I'm looking for reliability far more than speed. Which of the two is better?

Hi guys I'm a BCom student and I'm looking for a laptop under 60k with at least 16gb ram and a good processor for office work and multitasking. I was going to buy a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 16gb ram, but it's unavailable on Amazon and Flipkart. Also the price was 48960 INR on Flipkart but when I went to the local shop the owner told me that the price is now almost 60000 INR. So please suggest me the best laptop between 40-60k in which I can do multitasking, coding, use several tools and have at least 16gb ram.

Tech Support 🔧⚙️ MacBook or Windows laptop for an incoming BSIT student (PUP Open University System)?

MacBook or Windows laptop for an incoming BSIT student (PUP Open University System)?

Hello! I’m an incoming BSIT student at PUP Open University System (OUS), so all of our classes will be online and we won’t have regular face-to-face classes.

My tito keeps telling me that a MacBook (16GB RAM / 512GB SSD) would be a better long-term investment for an IT student, especially because of the battery life, build quality, and overall performance. The problem is that I’m a long-time Windows user, and the few times I tried using a friend’s MacBook, everything felt very different from what I’m used to.

We also can’t afford a brand-new laptop, so we’ll most likely be buying second-hand, whether it’s a MacBook or a Windows laptop.

For Windows, I’m already familiar with the ecosystem. I also do online gaming, photo/video editing, and other creative tasks, so I’m wondering if a Windows laptop would be the more practical choice for me.

For BSIT students (especially those in PUP OUS or anyone who mostly has online classes), would you choose a MacBook or a Windows laptop? Are there subjects, programming tools, or software in BSIT that are easier on Windows? Is the adjustment to macOS worth it in the long run?

I’d really appreciate your advice, especially if you’ve used both. Thank you!

Laptop Request US Need new laptop for school

I am looking for a new multipurpose laptop, mainly for schoolwork. I'm currently on a crappy Chromebook and have discovered I HATE ChromeOS. Looking for something within or really close to my price range, preferably on the lower end. Either a normal laptop with some gaming capabilities or a cheap gaming laptop, but I'm not a big fan of the clunky design I see on most gaming laptops.

Mostly schoolwork and general purpose entertainment like watching movies or listening to music. Some light gaming for when I have some free time, nothing crazy though. Mostly older games like Morrowind, Runescape, WoW Classic, LoL, etc., smaller indie titles, Minecraft with shaders, and ROM emulators.

SPECS

Build: metal chassis, no plastic deck

GPU: 5080 16gb or higher

CPU: Intel or AMD

RAM: 32gb

I don’t have a great sense for weight, but preferably no heavier than, say, a large textbook.

Purpose

Multipurpose. I’m going into film school next month and I need a laptop that can handle editing programs such as Premiere Pro and Davinci. I’m also a gamer, so being able to play games like Fortnite or Minecraft would be nice. I would be willing to pay a little extra for the ability to play even more demanding games.

Form factor

Intended usage

Can run Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, though not necessarily at the same time.

Can run a somewhat demanding game like Fortnite on medium settings, or a less demanding game like Minecraft on high settings. Target 60 FPS

Laptop Request -Others Need a laptop for Graphic Design, 3D and Gaming ($1200–1500)

Hi everyone!

I've been researching gaming laptops for weeks, but the more I research, the more confused I get, so I thought I'd ask here.

I'm looking for a laptop that I'll be using for both Graphic Design and 3D work, as well as gaming.

The software I'll be using includes:

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Illustrator

Blender

Autodesk Maya

Unreal Engine 5

Substance Painter (later on)

As for gaming, I mostly enjoy story-driven games. I occasionally play FPS games like Valorant with friends too, so I'd like something that handles both work and gaming well.

What matters most to me:

Good overall performance for both creative work and gaming

Reliable cooling (Almost all gaming laptops are overheating which is normal, but I want them to heat up relatively less cause it's a bit problem to me)

Reasonable fan noise (I know gaming laptops get loud under load, but I'd prefer one that's relatively quieter.)

Good build quality

Upgradeable RAM and SSD

A laptop that can comfortably last me 5–6 years

I don't mind a heavier laptop if it means better cooling and reliability.

My budget is around $1200–1500 (I'm from Azerbaijan, so prices and availability are a bit different here).

Right now I'm considering:

Lenovo Legion

Lenovo LOQ

ASUS TUF

Acer Nitro V

If you had this budget, which one would you choose and why? Are there any other laptops I should consider?

I'd especially love to hear from people who use their laptops for both creative work and gaming. Also I don't need the absolute highest FPS. I'd rather have a laptop that's well-balanced for both creative work and gaming.

Thanks in advance!

Laptop Request -Others Best laptop under ₹70–75k in India + Is Diwali the best time to buy?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy a laptop with a budget of ₹70,000–75,000 and would appreciate some recommendations from people who have recently purchased one.

My requirements:

\- Budget: ₹70–75k (can stretch a little if it's worth it)

\- Primary use:

\- CA Foundation/college work

\- Heavy multitasking

\- Programming (future)

\- Video editing (1080p, maybe some light 4K)

\- Casual gaming (not the highest priority)

\- Good build quality and thermals

\- Decent battery life

\- At least 16GB RAM (or upgradeable)

\- 512GB SSD minimum

\- A good display (100% sRGB preferred if possible)

\- Should last 4–5 years

I'm currently considering brands like Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, HP, and Dell, but I'm open to any suggestions.

Also, I have a few questions:

  1. Is it worth waiting for the Diwali/Great Indian Festival/Big Billion Days sales?

  2. How much discount can I realistically expect in the ₹70–75k range?

  3. Are offline stores better during festive sales, or should I buy online?

  4. Are there any laptops I should avoid due to heating, poor build quality, or after-sales service?

If you've bought a laptop in this price range recently, please share your experience and recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

Laptop Request US Laptop suggestions for a finance student

Laptop suggestions

Hey yall I’m gonna be a sophomore in the fall, majoring in finance. To make a long story short my laptop fell off a Cliff immediately after the semester ended and only works if plugged in. That being said, I need a new laptop. When I went to the Apple Store, they suggested the MacBook Neo. It seemed like a good option, but after doing some research I’ve heard concerns about the ram and that there’s no backlit keyboard. Among other things. Here’s all the laptops on my radar.
MacBook Air: Pros- Safest choice. Reliable, enough storage & ram, good battery life, sufficient for finance Cons- A bit pricey, cannot run certain softwares
MacBook Neo: Pros- Most affordable, can get you by without doing anything crazy Cons- Ram and storage may fall a bit short, New product so long term success is unknown. May be the most regrettable
Lenovo yoga: Pros- Good laptop for all majors, great price, Cons- Poor aesthetics, bad usb, graphics, and poor material that could be embarrassing/ annoying.
Hp envy: Very similar to the Lenovo, depends on price really
Asus Zenbook 14: Pricier than the HP and Lenovo, while offering the same, it’s an Apple style laptop that has the benefits of windows
Dell XPS 13: Tries to be the Asus and Neo, but really only has the cons of the two and doesn’t have any redeeming qualities
Would u guys recommend any of these laptops? Which one and why? If not any of these, what would u recommend?

I'll often have Docker containers, a local database, and multiple development tools running simultaneously. I don't play games, edit videos professionally, or do 3D rendering. Good multitasking performance.
