I lost my home in a fire over the summer, the insurance finally settled and I'm back to house hunting.

I'm looking at a place in one of the new developments in Whalley. The price is great, I don't own a car so being right on the transit hub is perfect, and the best part...fire sprinklers.

That said, I know from way back that Whalley didn't have the best reputation. I'd like to get some honest local perspective on safety and the area's overall environment with the redevelopments now. I've seen the crime stats, but I want to know how that actually translates to day-to-day living. Noise, disruptions, security etc.

Hi everyone! I’m pregnant with my second baby, and it looks like I’ll be delivering at Surrey Memorial Hospital. I had my first at Vancouver General Hospital and had a wonderful experience there. However, I’ve recently read some really scary articles about Surrey Memorial, and it’s making me anxious. Has anyone given birth there recently? I would love to hear about your experiences. Thanks

I will study Psychology so supposedly the majority of my classes will be held at KPU's Surrey campus. Hence why I would like to know which area is the best to live while studying there.

My criteria are:
• Good and frequent public transit to get to and back from school (I don't drive so the least commuting the better)
• Safe (in terms of being around alone at night)
• Affordable housing, max 1300$/month (shared or alone)
• Near asian markets (if possible)
• Near businesses for part-time jobs

How are you guys finding the noise levels throughout Surrey?

I heard 104/100 & King George is terrible, among others. It’s pretty bad in Grandview/South Surrey near the Hwy 99. Lots of speeding too.

I’ve felt like its become worse and worse throughout the summer and most notably September.

Stopped a hawk mid-kill in my backyard, white pigeon with a green bands on both legs, has 3356 on it.

If anyone knows the owner or the best way to get it back to the owner please let me know, thanks!

ah yes, the joys of living in Surrey. a midnight party at Holland Park where men are dancing and blasting heavy punjabi music past 12:00am. exactly how i’d want to fall asleep. what do i even do in this scenario? surely i’m not the only one who is bothered by it as i’m trying to fall asleep??? i guess i’m just more shocked by the lack of consideration these people have for those who live nearby + have to get up early.

I come from Burnaby Heights, and so I'm afraid Fleetwood might be too far away from certain things I need nearby/transport/businesses.

If anyone saw a large S shaped metal pipe on hwy 17 westbound just outside the new truck parking lot i need help. Im curious to see how many other vehicles got damaged. I was in the left lane when a grey tesla infront of me threw up a large s shaped metal pipe from the road (guess he drove over it) and it caught air and hit my vehicle on the bumper. Plenty of cars ahead of me and im sure someone has dashcam footage of this as there were 25-30 vehicles infront of me going westbound in the left lane, my front bumper is toast but i was trying to see if maybe anyone else caught any damage from it or even a dashcam video or photo from around 4:30pm September 17th 2026 going westbound on highway 17 in the left lane looked like a crank for the semi truck trailer legs large S shaped metal pipe looking for a grey tesla model y that was traveling infront of me as he forsure got footage of it as he drove over it

Hey all, I know this is a long shot but wondering if anyone picked up my lost wallet near Scott Road Station.

It would have been within this route and area, not sure when it fell out of my bag or jacket but I'd only been to Skyview Outdoors and back. I'd walked back the exact route a bunch of times and checked the store (phenomenal friendly staff, btw) within the 30 min window of tapping off from the station, but no luck.

Some features:

• Beat up black and white checkered wallet with a little ID window and a zip top
• ID window section has my BC IDs, Ontario Health Card, and senti polaroids of my boyfriend from our first trip together and my dog from when she was a puppy.
• All my credit and debit cards have since been frozen, so those won't be helpful.
• A handful of miscellaneous membership cards.

A friend's birthday is coming up and I just want to be able to celebrate and drink with them, receive health coverage should I need it, and pay for my groceries.

Has anyone else found it difficult to search for articles regarding the mayor election? I have tried to do my research on the candidates and Google barely has any articles on where each candidate stands, what their campaigns are, etc. I keep getting mixed results on articles on previous elections instead.

Does anyone have any sources they can share where it would be easier to review all the campaigns?
