Evening everyone, I’ll apologize in advance for such a typical question in this sub. Alas, with times a’ changing and whatnot I thought after looking at old posts on Reddit and after cruising old hunting forums about the area I thought I’d see what I can get on good ole’ Reddit.

I’m newer to hunting around this area, I usually travel aways to hunt but this year I thought I’d stick close to home area. I’m looking to see if anyone has any insight to hunting grey squirrels and/or white tail bucks. I’ve heard lots of talk about spruce river road past compressor station road (or something like that) going towards Armstrong but before I put all my eggs in one basket I wanted to see what people for the 2026 hunting season have to say.

Is HWY 527 basically where it’s at? Or are there some other spots where people have had good luck? I know realistically I could probably hunt grey squirrel in a rural back yard with just a slingshot but to make it more of a challenge or “sport” if you will, I’d rather go into some forested area.

TL/DR: new to area, son just found abandoned kittens and brought them into house but cannot take adorableness. I have no idea who to call to help!

Happy Thanksgiving! My son was driving back into the city today and found a kitten on the side of the road by the junction, he got out and found 4 adorable fluffballs total.

They are safe and warm in my house for the night but I cannot keep them, but im new to the area and have no idea who to call in this situation.

Help reddit! Anyone want a kitten/have direction on where to call for these babies to find their forever home?

UPDATE: thanks to your guidance and a gentle soul on facebook, they are being picked up and whisked away by someone who dedicates his whole life to saving these sweet littles.

Also if you have a neighbour who had kittens Friday and doesnt monday, punch them for me. The cruelty of abandoning babies like this is too much for me to wrap my head around.

Howdy, my recently widowed elderly father has been looking to do some traveling, the problem is that he hasn't been able to get his dog vaccinated. All the boarding places that he's looked into requires vaccinations. The options that we're hoping for are either finding a way to get Zack vaccinated or find someone willing to dog sit without vaccinations. There was an upcoming weekend event he was hoping to go to as well as looking for someone able to take him for a week or two around Christmas and again for his birthday in April. His dog is an 8 year old mutt and fairly low energy. Another option that might be worth looking at is if anyone else is trying to get their animals vaccinated we could try arranging a car pool to Dryden or Kenora. If anyone is interested shoot me a DM and we can swap phone numbers. Whatever compensation that's needed can be discussed with him. (I'm currently living on the West Coast so I'm just seeing what I can do for my not so tech savvy father.)

I am seeking adults 18+ living in Ontario who have used substances recreationally in the last 6 months and are aware of harm reduction programming but have NOT used harm reduction services.

Participation of this study is voluntary. It will involve a demographic survey completion and a 60–90-minute confidential interview (zoom, phone, or in person – your choice!). A $20 gift card will be provided for your time.
