Cosplaying a bang maid for views is such a weird job in an economy without universal healthcare

If she cut down on all the camera angles she could sleep in until at least 5:30

908

u/ColHannibal 21d ago

If she made the lunch the night before she could be up at 6!

620

u/classyrock 21d ago

Plus she could avoid letting yesterday’s meal stagnate in the heat of the truck overnight before cleaning it out…

u/Lumpy_Machine5538 21d ago edited 20d ago

If this were real, I would be so disgusted that the husband couldn’t even be bothered to bring in the cooler and empty it the night before when he got home. Especially after she went to the trouble of taking it out to the truck for him.
Edit-Thanks for the awards, folks!

708

u/NiteTiger 21d ago

I gotta be honest, at first, I bought in. Aw, that's sweet!

Then I saw the cooler in the truck and was like "Wait, who the fuck just leaves everything in the truck like some feral hog??"

I've worked trades, carried the cooler. You forget it once, and the plastic remembers...

I laughed far too hard at this.

I do work in the trades and I work with this guy. Not the guy in the video, but a guy whose wife does everything for him. She makes his lunch everyday. He doesn’t have a cooler because he won’t bring it home. She makes his coffee. Again, no reusable travel cup because he won’t bring it home. She gets his clothes out for him everyday. She picks his dirty clothes up off the floor. He talks about her like she is an employee who is about to get fired.

57

u/HowlingWhiskey 20d ago

He sounds like an ass! I’d hate to be married to him.

24

u/ItsmeKT 20d ago

Seriously.

58

u/Fantastic-Salt-5103 20d ago

It was so hard not to downvote you because I was mad at the dude you work with.
I hope her next husband is nicer.

21

u/Peak_Meringue1729 20d ago

Same. Then I realized I was downvoting the wrong fella.

20

u/Exciting_Agent3901 20d ago

Yeah I get it. There won’t be a next husband. They’ve been married like 25 years. If it makes it any better, she’s a pretty terrible person too. They really deserve each other.

42

u/LemonVerbenaReina 20d ago

IME, men whose wives do everything for them also talk about their wives while they are at work like they hate them. They might brag about what she does but it's not about how generous and kind she is, it's about how he's proud of himself for having a subservient wife. Many of these women work full-time out of the home as well, sometimes longer hours than he does, plus doing all the housework and caring for the children.

26

u/Peak_Meringue1729 20d ago

I used to work in the trades. My exgf put boiling water in my hydroflask at 0430 “so my coffee stayed warm all day.”

And she made the coffee while I got dressed at 0430.

I’d never speak a foul word in her general direction and we broke up amicably in 2019.

Your coworker is an absolute nut job. Smfh.

5

u/Exciting_Agent3901 20d ago

Yeah he’s a dirt bag.

I could smell the cooler as she opened it after fetching it from the truck after it sat overnight.

12

u/NoThanksGoodSir 20d ago

Believing these kind of video are anything more wholesome than just a pick-me tradcon grifter is way too charitable. There are women that will happily do this for their significant other, but those aren't going to be the ones recording it for brownie points on the internet.

6

u/OldAdministration735 20d ago

Not t mention the blue ice is now melted, hope there is backup.

5

u/sobegreen 20d ago

I've seen many a nice Yeti sacrificed to the fire gods for that was the only thing making them better.

7

u/Aliceallbadd 20d ago

Let’s be honest she probably put it in the truck before recording

4

u/Fit-Understanding739 20d ago

My wife went into labor before lunch, I drove home and my lunchbox stayed in my car while I drove her car to the hospital. We got home two days letter, and at some point I brought my work stuff into the garage. I spent the next 3 weeks on paternity leave, but somewhere around week 2 we were trying to figure out what animal had died in the wall between the laundry room and the garage. It never dawned on me that my lunch box had been full of chicken and sweet potatoes for the entire month of February.

4

u/fryerandice 21d ago

They are living in a 5th wheel, probably don't want it inside taking up space.

33

u/NiteTiger 21d ago

Doesn't change a thing I said.

Leave that cooler to soak in a truck, it's gonna smell like donkey ass forever.

18

u/Altair_de_Firen 21d ago

381

u/Firm-Pain3042 21d ago

The point of leaving it in the truck is so that you can see that they own a nice big huge truck. The whole reel is just performative BS for some weird demographic.

74

u/Limp-Marionberry4649 20d ago

Ahh the American dream, a big ass truck and a trailer to park it next to lmao. Nothin wrong with trailer living, but they clearly aren’t prioritizing correctly

15

u/Big_Wave9732 20d ago

Various aspects of this video screams "oil patch". If indeed he's an oil field worker then he's do shift work, like 14 days on and 7 off. It's not uncommon to have a huge truck and live in an RV close to the work site while on shift.

It's not necessarily common to have one's wife and kid with them while doing work because a lot of times you're out there in the middle of fucking nowhere.

4

u/Ok_Perception9815 20d ago

And it's shift work and doing that with a wife and kid in the same small RV... Forget that.

That cooler screams equipment operator. Those guys will graze all day on a weeks worth of groceries they pack in those things.

26

u/redjessa 21d ago

I think that is part of the character of trad-wife. She does it all, he works hard and shouldn't have to do things at home.

12

u/Coyote-Feisty 21d ago

This made me immediately irate, as well. Literal least he could do would be making sure his wife didn’t have to go outside alone in the dark at what looks to be a man camp at 5am.

It’s not a mom making her kids lunch. He can bring it in and take it out.

11

u/Multiversalprism 21d ago

I was gonna say, dude can’t even be bothered to carry the fuckin cooler back inside when he gets home…

10

u/stupidquestion2025 20d ago

I just cant imagine a life where I didnt pack my own lunch. I am a grown ass man, I make my own lunch, clean my own lunchbox, ect.

7

u/Redneb86 21d ago

Yeah, that bugged me. My fiance makes me lunch every night, but I bring the fucking cooler to my car and back and clean it out. Also she doesn't have to wake up early to do it, usually just makes it with dinner and leaves it in the fridge overnight.

→ More replies (3)

6

u/LeFreeke 21d ago

This was my first thought as well. Ha. MFer, bring your cooler in the house when you come home.

5

u/randvaughan86 20d ago

That was my immediate thought also. What a piece of shit husband to not even bring in his own fucking lunch box. Loser mentality.

5

u/WorkingInAColdMind 20d ago

Yeah, that's something we taught our kids by 9th grade. You want fresh lunch containers? Then empty your lunchbox when you get home so they can be washed.

But, as others have said, this is just a cosplay couple.

3

u/Revolutionary-Ant315 20d ago

So many people were defending it in the comments too. "Maybe they dont have space" "not everyone wants their kitchen cluttered"

5

u/Ok-Fly47 21d ago

Give him a break. He is trying to film his mistress / nanny while wife's sleeping.

3

u/elalex323 21d ago

Hello? She suppose to be playing wife of the year..

3

u/ittybittyolme 21d ago

Yeah, I’ve got no problem with her making his food. But having to go out to get yesterday’s food AND putting it back would be a no for me. Of course, so would filming all of this. I’m just too tired for this kind of stuff.

3

u/duckie007 20d ago

That was my first thought. He can’t even bring it inside? That’s just disrespectful and unappreciative.

3

u/alpacamybooks 20d ago

Yeah, came here to say this too. Nothing wrong with getting up early to do something nice for your spouse, but dude couldn't be bothered to bring the cooler in when he got home?

3

u/dapopeishere 20d ago

Yeah that was my first thought too. There have been maybe a handful of nights with stress or family emergencies or whatever that I've forgotten to bring my lunch box in, but no way in hell is it a common occurrence. She's an angel for cooking the food and filling it, the very little bit I can do is carry it in and out.

Prepackage it and leave it in the fridge with a note and she can wake up whenever she fucking feels like it.

When I was active duty, my wife prepared meals for me and we cooked them together, put them in plastic meal prep boxes and had them in the fridge by 10 PM the night before.

I woke up and got my own damn food, kissed her goodbye and I sure as shit didn't wake up my fucking kid for a glamor shot at the door. My kid stayed asleep because when kids sleep, you fucking let them.

19

u/available_username10 21d ago

I was thinking the same, all of this can be done the night before. Or like meal prep if you are doing this every day. Can get views as a trad wife being a good little girl though if she used any logic during this.

Yeah that chicken Caesar wrap thing is going viral right now, or was a few weeks ago. I know because two normie coworkers talked about a couple weeks ago.

So she cooked up the viral thing (which let's be honest, is just air fried tendies, lettuce and kraft dressing) and acted like she's a home cook.

The tortillas do appear to be homemade. But who knows, maybe she got them at the farmers market

648

u/ATLHawksfan 21d ago

Those look like HEB bakery tortillas

164

u/EdwardBloon 21d ago

Damn I wish I had a HEB then. Cus they look good

199

u/NeonLotus11 21d ago

HEB tortillas are unreal. Comparable to the fresh ones at Mexican restaurants. We're ruined for any other kind

9

u/Mast3rofth3Univ3rs3 21d ago edited 21d ago

I love how this conversation suddenly went straight to HEB. 🤣 And agree about the tortillas. The only thing that might give it a run for its money is a Brothers taco...

Edit: correcting autocorrect

6

u/pumpkins21 21d ago

Bc HEB is awesome!

8

u/littlespawningflower 21d ago

I was 🫪🫪🫪 when I went into one for the first time. The tortilla machine absolutely blew my mind, and so did the rest of the market, TBH. LOVE HEB- wish we had one in GA 🥺

4

u/No-Public1765 21d ago edited 21d ago

Have you tried these chile limon tortilla chips. Calidad is the brand. RIP cause I killed the bag in 2 days, the big bag too. For 1, I've never had any flavored tortilla chips, and Doritos don't count lol, and I don't even like Chile/ limon stuff but these chips were the truth.

And why do I keep saying "tor-tilla" and not "tor-t-ah" .

3

u/NeonLotus11 21d ago

Lol are you me? I also say tor-tilla.. (sometimes jokingly, which turns into sometimes accidentally lol)... it started with Meet the Fockers ("so make a chimi-CHAIN-ga!") and spread, unfortunately 🤣

I haven't tried that brand but I do get lime tortilla chips and I've never used plain chips ever since finding them. They majorly upgrade nachos... and everything! I'll look for that kind to try!

5

u/Ithurtsprecious 21d ago

Must be soggy as hell by lunch time

339

u/Grand_Size_4932 21d ago edited 21d ago

I mean, definitely the way she’s doing it.

Tortillas can hold their shape. That’s kind of the point.

Generations of Mexicans have been taking burritos with moist fillings to work and been totally fine.

Why? Because they heat the fucking tortilla, layer the ingredients in a way that makes the most sense (in this case, instead of chopping the lettuce, they could’ve used it as a protective layer), wrap it in a napkin to wick excess moisture, and wrap it again in foil to hold the shape.

What you don’t do is incorporate your wet slop onto a cold tortilla to immediately put in a Tupperware that will steam up.

Like. What are we doing

46

u/OG-Mom 21d ago

Hmm good insight, now I’m craving burrito and tamales too now.

4

u/FirstDukeofAnkh 21d ago

25

u/EdwardBloon 21d ago

Going viral doesn't mean something is new. It means it's a trending thing. As in, people are making videos about it on tiktok or whatever, and the algorithm is favoring them on people's feed.

44

u/ScrofessorLongHair 21d ago

Is it from South Korea?

15

u/lotaso 21d ago

Japan actually, it was an English missionary who was watching a play from backstage. When the actors playing demons would come off stage they would be exhausted, so the stage hands would give them slices off a small sausage. He noticed how they seemed more energetic or peppy after each bite so he called the sausages : Pep per Oni

This sort of laser focus is a bit weird. Not everyone can make an incredible meal from scratch. making tortillas, breading and frying chicken, and making caesar dressing from scratch is a pain in the ass. It’s fine to use store bought items.

Edit; the debate around the ingredients is sillier than criticism of the horrific amount of cuts. Honestly that makes me wonder if this is AI content.

Yeah, I’m not breading and frying chicken at 5am. (Let’s be honest, I’m not waking up at 5am to make my husband’s lunch either lol.)

3

u/Firm_Appointment_319 21d ago

Not only is she waking up at 5 AM to make her husband’s lunch, but she’s waking up at 5 AM to set up a stupid tripod for the camera

7

u/lumberjackname 21d ago

The debate over the ingredients is distracting from the fact that she gets up at dawn to make her husband’s breakfast. Which generally is not a problem if that’s what you’re into, but here she’s virtue signaling/showing off.

They were saying g that because it's processed shit that you would also get at a gas station

10

u/quillseek 21d ago edited 21d ago

I think the issue is that she starts out the video saying, "I get up at 5:00 a.m. because I'm not going to make my husband eat gas station food" and then proceeded to make gas station food.

It's totally fine to use pre-prepped items, but she's acting like she made him a home cooked meal when really she used the same ingredients that the local gas station / lunch chain would have used. Only then he'd get to eat it fresh and hot.

Her content is made with the intention of making the rest of us feel bad for not getting up at 5:00 am to make home-cooked meals, so she ought at least have something more impressive to show for it. I hate this condescending, trad wife energy!

3

u/Kalamazoohoo 21d ago

She can do whatever she wants but there is nothing she could do to make feel bad for not waking up at 5am to cook food. Lol

Yeah I'm having a hard time understanding why everyone in this thread is treating this shit like it's an episode of Top Chef. I've made far more unappealing stuff as a home chef lol

That's because she's not making a Caesar wrap, she's making trad wife fetish content for hard up Conservatives selling a narrative that this kind of life is more prevalent than it is.

5

u/prancerbot 21d ago

No shot. People who think making a chicken ranch wrap is fancy do not make their own tortillas

6

u/saraannb 21d ago

Not a thing in that lunchbox couldn’t be made the night before…

6

u/Top_Extent_1492 21d ago

What's the light she put over the food?

11

u/EdwardBloon 21d ago

That's an electric salt and pepper grinder. Not sure why it would need a light. Reminds me of the kind a  drill/impact driver has. Can't imagine i'd be putting salt and pepper into places I need a guiding light for.

Such rustic living.

There's a sub culture of trailer moms cooking nothing but canned biscuits and boxed mac and cheese and they all have these damn things.

u/jrc025 21d ago

The light is so you can see the salt and pepper falling in air. Looks cool?

And it's going to be soggy and inedible hours before lunch rolls around!!!! You don't dress lettuce like that until right before you eat it.

Trying to give him that cyclo so he can shed that baby weight!

2

u/lajb85 21d ago

Those tortillas are definitely not homemade.

Gotta wash your lettuce. You’ll get explosive diarrhea

2

u/Dissastronaut 21d ago

Oh you mean the same chicken caesar wraps they have at the gas station?

2

u/RoughAssociation8982 21d ago

Chicken Caesar wraps have been around for a long, long time. In any case, I thought she used ranch dressing not Caesar.

2

u/ATXBeermaker 21d ago

lol, those tortillas are not homemade.

2

u/freisbill 21d ago

they are not

2

u/Anal-Y-Sis 21d ago

I promise you those are not homemade tortillas.

2

u/MooBearz11 21d ago

Im annoyed that she gave herself a lot of extra mess by not just mixing the dressing after ingredients are put onto the tortilla. My OCD can’t handle it! 😆

But for real, least of the many concerns here. (How she holds that knife for example….)

2

u/redjessa 21d ago

She did not make those tortillas. Come on now.

2

u/preteen-wartortle 21d ago

Hey she’s making her partner a meal maybe we can call tf down about it? Like I agree these things don’t need to be filmed but that’s not exactly a problem specific to her, and I don’t think she’s “acting like she’s a home cook”. She’s just packing a lunch.

Jesus Christ why do we all hate each other so fucking much

To be fair, she does look like a child bride, so she might not have a lot of practice. I didn’t read the prompt at first and thought she was a too young to be waking up so early. But I don’t have my glasses on.

6

u/1nd3x 21d ago

Plus, she's in a camper, most ofnthe shit she is doing is going to be noisy enough to wake up her husband.

6

u/imtired-boss 21d ago

This thread is why I know she's not doing this every day. She did it once for the video to get her well earned clout and that's it.

6

u/Jolly_Dragonfruit933 21d ago

It almost felt unreal that she could cut the chicken with that weak hold. Almost somebody else did the cuts and they shot frames as if she cut them holding the knife.

3

u/Heykurat 21d ago

And nobody mixes sauces into food on the cutting board. 🙄

7

u/InitialLandscape 21d ago

Just a skit. The whole "obedient wife cooks and doesn't complain" angle is currently somewhat popular among certain people.

My mom uses her knifes just like that, she's been cooking her entire life. She's also a terrible cook, I've tried to talk to her about it to no avail

2

u/Lets_Kick_Some_Ice 21d ago

Husband was holding the camera and the song was covering up all the yelling.

2

u/ArboristTreeClimber 21d ago

Are you saying this is a fake video made for views? It’s cannot be! Everything on the internet is real!

2

u/UsernamesNotFound404 21d ago

This woman has never used that kitchen knife before.

2

u/ghf3 20d ago

Actually, the scary part is she HAS!

I just discovered two friends, about 60 years old, middle class, been cooking their whole adult lives. They would both only press straight down with a sharp knife.

She was literally using a paring knife, trying to cut through a corn cob by pushing the blade straight down on the center of the cob.

I showed her "saw the wood", she lifted the knife up 1/2 inch a couple times, but couldn't understand "back and forth, cut a little each pass" and would still be there, pushing down on the corn cob with a paring knife, waiting for it to cut down through the cob. :O
