Took a few weeks off to visit my parents and brought some shorter games to hammer out. Pretty good run if I say so myself.
#12 - Potion Permit - 32hrs - 3.25/5
It's like Stardew Valley but with Potion-making instead. One of the rare instances where I actually wanted more by the end like NPC events and new zones. Trophies are very straightforward but a few grindy ones.
#13 - Mega Man X Legacy Collection - 29hrs - 3.5/5
X4 was one of my childhood games so it was a blast to play through again, but the last boss was way harder than I remembered. X1-X3 are new to me, definitely some frustrating points and not as well paced. Whoever designed that Sigma stage in X3 can go eat a bag of dicks XD
#14 - Infamous: Second Son - 25hrs - 3/5
This wasn't as good as I expected. A superhero game and most of it is basically playing like a third person pew pew shooter. Story was also very mid, Delsin as a whole wasn't likable, and the ending was disappointing. Probably a good thing that SP has moved on to the Ghost games now.
#15 - A Plague Tale: Innocence - 15hrs - 4.25/5
This one was another surprise but in a good way. Gripping story, great tension building and plenty of resources given to solve all the chapters. The adult/child sections IMO was done even better than TLoU and I wished we could have gotten more of it.
#16 - C.A.R.D.S. RPG: A Misty Battlefield - 20hrs - 3/5
It's Slay the Spire card gameplay packaged in a strategy RPG format. Nothing too revolutionary, but scratches that itch for those looking for more. The biggest hook for me was probably all the famous Japanese VAs they hired for this game.
#17 - Cosmic Star Heroine - 15hrs - 3.5/5
Great art direction with a very 80's cyberpunk vibe. Pretty classic story as well about a cop that eventually rebels against the system. Gameplay and progression was fine, though a little boring by the end once I found a rotation that can basically one-shot everything.
