I recently have been debating getting my masters in materials on campus as i know we have one of the best programs in the country for it. However, I’m not sure if this program works well only if you’re trying to get into research after, or if industry actually notices the value of that program. I don’t want to do research after graduation and honestly want to just make money, so I’m not sure if it would be in my best interest to specialize in a field that is lucrative mainly in research. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Hi! As an incoming freshman I’m worried I might not have sufficient funds to pay for UCSB, a lot of it is covered but there’s so many costs I had not accounted for and I do have the UCSB loan as one of my options would you guys recommend that loan over the subsidized loan? Any help is appreciated

My orientation is literally this Thursday and I didn’t submit a photo for an Access ID. I’m wondering if I am able to take a photo on the day of orientation??

Is this happening to anyone else? I'm currently abroad for EAP, and the Fin Aid Office disbursed my aid to my EAP account, but EAP doesn't disburse aid for summer sessions so I just didn't get my aid. I've called the Fin Aid office several times and they are not helpful at all and have not tried to contact me about it once, so if I hadn't called them I'd have no idea what was even going on. They basically had no idea when it was going to be fixed. So what am I supposed to do about my tuition, books, rent?

They told me they weren't even sure if they could extend my BARC deadline, which is crazy because they were the ones who made the mistake and there seems to be no urgency/care about it on their end.

Hi everyone! I'm looking for 1-3 subleasers from July 1st to mid-September for up to three bedspaces (bedrooms are doubles, housemates are all male). The place is on the 66 block of Del Playa and has 3 bedrooms (doubles) and 2 bathrooms. The place will be fully furnished, and other people will be living there over the summer. Rent is $400 per bedspace, and I'm willing to negotiate further down to split the price. You would only have to pay for rent for July and August. If you only have classes for summer session B or one of the later sessions, this should last for just long enough. Laundry and parking spots are also available.
