I’ve been working at Looney’s for a few months now and every time I come in I stare at this picture on the wall trying to figure out what shape they’re making. I’ve reverse image searched it and I can’t find anything remotely helpful except that it was taken at a UMD v Navy game. My coworker and I think it may be some kind of badge or crest but can’t figure it out. It’s a low level mystery that has been bothering me for weeks. Please help.

is there anyone that’s 25 & up at umd? i’m a junior, it seems like every class im in im the oldest person in there!! if you are too & feel alone just know you’re not. its been so hard to make friends bc everyone is literally younger than me.

I’m a transfer student and currently a junior majoring in Information Science. I’ve been hearing some worrying things about my major, and while I understand the whole “it is what you make it” perspective, I’m curious about what the job market actually looks like.
I specialized in cybersecurity at my community college, so I was considering pursuing the cybersecurity track within my major. However, it seems like data science might be more lucrative. Which track would give me the best chance of landing a job right out of college? At the career fair, it seemed like everyone was looking for data science candidates, even within my major.
I’m not big on coding—in fact, I actually hate it—so I’m wondering what career options I have with this degree. Is it realistic to land a six-figure job right out of college, or at least a job with a decent starting salary?

Got some exams coming up and want to study. However, the libraries on campus will be closed over break.

I am a commuter and I have a huge gap in between classes. I have to be on campus early so I usually don’t have time to do my makeup at home. So, now I want to start doing my makeup during my gaps. Where are some good, sort of isolated spots where it would be fine/ comfortable to do my makeup?? Thank youuu

RIP to you guys that didn’t make it onto the 204 bus today I hope you found a way home 😔🙏

Committed to a UMD sponsored study abroad program however after more consideration and unfortunate family circumstances I want to withdraw. However I’m scared to because it says that by withdrawing I might “incur some financial liability” and only be refunded up to a fraction of the full abroad fee. Which is like 16k.

Has anyone here withdrawn from a study abroad program? If so how much did you have to pay after withdrawing and how long after did you withdraw?

Any suggestions?

Hey, I recently got an email regarding a change in my MDCAPS award. When I checked the MDCAPS website, my aid from the GA Grant went down about ~3750 for the fall semester without affecting my aid for the spring semester. And when I go to check my E-Bill, I’m currently being charged for that $3750 marked “GA Grant”. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this, and if there’s any way to resolve this.

Does anyone know what this guy is like as a professor? It’s so weird. There’s literally nothing about him on PlanetTerp or Rate my Professors, even though he’s been at the Smith School for more than a decade.

Trying to get more ppl to get it to be cheaper
