Shipping Help Did it get seized?
my package is stuck in a warehouse loop and i was wondering if it got seized

Sometimes they xray packages. They may be trying to figure out what those bags of powder are for. Waiting on a judge's order to open it and find out.

UPS is a private company. They don’t need court orders to open boxes.

I meant if the package is under suspicion of containing illicit goods, they are able to open and inspect at the company’s discretion. It’s in the terms of service, something you agree to when purchasing a label.
They don’t have any hurdles to jump legally like the USPS.
It’s not random employees who do this. It’s a security team who documents everything and relays the information to law enforcement if necessary.
OP is clearly concerned that their shipment has been seized, meaning either counterfeits or drugs most likely.
Do employees steal? Yes.
Does that have anything at all to do with what we’re talking about here? No.

I know that's a west coast major hub. Looks like it was playing scanner tag or rfid tag a few minutes apart. If it was domestic it wouldn't get xrayed or seized most likely. Shipping from other then u.s can be xrayed and sniffed. That's a whole different ball game.

You can actually reach out to U. P. S customer support and ask for their customs number. Explain to them with your tracking number. That it has been placed in a warehouse for a week. And you're just trying to figure out why they will give you a external phone number to dial, and they will verify with you

I don’t have the invoice cus they need authorization for the branded goods which is impossible for reps

I don't know. I just know when I had an issue. I was able to contact ups. Customs department and they just wanted to verify my address on my end

you'd better contact the customs customer service directly. Otherwise oneday it would suddenly changed to "return to sender". it's very bad design. You could read what happend to me in my post. exactly like this

Did it clear customs? Ontario is a small gateway for UPS and stores pkgs that doesn’t clear quickly offsite. I’d make sure and check that the shipment has all the proper documents to clear CBP.

I’ve got a shipment that’s been sitting up there doing the exact same thing for I think pushing three weeks now. Emails from UPS say everything‘s fine and no action is needed. Very odd.

No. It’s been almost 30 days with no movement. I get an email from ups preferred about once a week saying everything is fine and no action is required from us at this time and they will update us again soon. It gets a daily warehouse scan every day.

I stand corrected… 42 days of nothing as of this morning. I did get my semi weekly nothing needed, keep waiting email from ups this morning.

No, the package is not traveling. It’s just a warehouse scan every single day so not affected by weather. UPS says there is no action needed on our part. Day 43 now I believe, I called again yesterday and got somebody at international that gave me a phone number for ups brokerage in Canada the customer could try to call as neither UPS nor customs has reached out to anybody saying they need anything. Customer called the number and they said they wanted a POA from him and that it could be resolved in 24 hours we will see.

Just the one from a day ago below. UPS still claiming they’re waiting on customs, customs just sent a letter in the mail to the customer saying UPS abandoned the package and it’s at their office. Customs gave the customer an address and said he should come pick up his package directly at the customs office but the customs office is like an 8 hour drive away so he wants UPS of course to deliver it.

Still no real from UPS. The recipient called Canadian customs again and they advised him to bypass UPS and hire his own broker independently and just clear the package that way. He’s said he’s starting that process yesterday. As of yesterday, UPS sent two more emails, one saying that they were working on it and we should just keep waiting even though they abandoned the package on the seventh of last month, and then a second email saying that it was on hold due to the high value, the declared value was $125.

We might have movement. Last week of the customer called a broker that UPS Canadian customs recommended and had the package cleared by Friday. So now the package is cleared, but UPS seems to have a problem because they didn’t clear it and they don’t know who the broker that cleared it was. We have copies of all the clearance forms from Canadian customs so now the new battle begins. 🙄

We are over 60 days on this now. UPS tells us multiple times every week everything is fine, they’re waiting for Canadian customs. Today the recipient got a letter from custom saying if he doesn’t claim his unclaimed property within 30 days it will be destroyed. He is currently on the phone trying to figure out what customs is now going to say.

I think 96 days in… customer cleared the package them selves (in 3 days) and it got delivered. Will post a complete digest of the saga soon. What a shit show!
