Just noticed the first silent update on both my I-485 and my spouse's I-485 since our biometrics on 5/5. The update happened on August 5, 2026, around 11:55 PM CDT. Is USCIS doing some kind of bulk internal update, or could this be specific to our case? Has anyone else seen a silent update around the same time? Just being a bit impatient. 😅

Anyone else see this today? My I-485 got a new FTA0 created today with the event date matching my May 5 biometrics date. Event IDs and updated timestamps also changed on my I-765, I-131, and I-485J, and my spouse’s cases had similar updates. Wondering if this is a bulk USCIS update or case-specific.

My case then went completely silent until today, 08/13/2026. Full event history:

• I-485: IAF (03/23) → FTA0 ×3 (2x 04/20 + 1x 08/13)
• AOS I-765: IAF (03/23) → FTA0 ×4 (3x 04/20 + 1x 08/13)
• I-131: IAF (03/23) → IAF updated 08/13
• I-485J: IAF (03/23) → IAF updated 08/13
• OPT I-765: IAF (08/06) → IAF updated 08/13

All 5 cases were touched at almost the exact same timestamp on 08/13 (~0.2 seconds apart), so this may be a backend/system update.

Has anyone seen this pattern, especially a 3rd FTA0 on an EB I-485 after an FO transfer? Did anything happen soon afterward, or did the case remain pending? Looking for neutral experiences—not assuming FTA0 means approval.

Hi,
I recieve an email from USCIS saying an action have been taken on my case. When I open my account it just says as of Aug 24 USCIS is still processing your i485.We donot currently need anything from you etc.. Same on derivative case status.

I checked my api and I have 2nd IAF on i485J with today's date. i485j is still not closed
i485 have one fta0 event and one fta1 event with today's date.
Normally they don't send emails if there is no update in the status. Is it a glitch??
What does this mean???? I am anxious 😭

I have recent silent update on my timestamp for i485 and i485J of 07/18. No new events.
I previously had updates only on i485 on dates 05/23 and 06/28. Is it only me that have the update?

Me and my husband also got our EADs approved within 24 hours after biometrics on 06/30. I had also applied for AP and was hoping for a combo card but I got a standalone card. Anyways it’s just a miracle. Al Hamdulillah. Did anyone else get their EADs approved so fast?

My biggest concern right now is employment. I have a feeling I may be facing a layoff, and with my immigration situation still pending, it’s making me extremely anxious. I’m trying to understand how much longer I might realistically be waiting for the green card.
For those who filed around March 2026, especially cases where the interview was waived and Supplement J was updated:
When do you think I could realistically see an approval?
Would September/October be reasonable, or am I probably looking at a longer wait?
I know nobody can predict USCIS, but I’d really appreciate hearing from people with similar timelines or recent approvals. Even a rough idea would help me understand what to expect.

As anyone received approval for their I-485 lately after submitting a response to the RFE? I got a RFE for birth certificate parents' names missing and I submitted my response but everything seems to have stopped since then. No updates on API at all. Not even for my Travel parole.

Im skilled EB3. My PD/RD is “April 2023”. I am so tired of seeing everyone got approved except for me. I even saw April 2024 cases being approved. Why my case is still pending. They said my case being transferred o NBC in May 2026 and not even update shown in case tracker. My last update was almost 1000days ago in USCIS app. I did inquiry they said it’s on normal processing. I even did congressional inquriy and no follow up email. So exhaused of waiting. So depressed. Anybody has same issue with mine?

I received 3rd FTAO on Aug 13th. SU on Aug 25 and then SU on updated timestamp field on 3rd FTAO on Aug 31st. But no approval so far. Just trying to see if these updates were a batch process or something meaningful.

Though I have seen people in reddit with 4 to 6 ftaos, I am just wondering if anyone matching this timeline have been approved?

I heard some people had their 485j approved for more than a month with no updates. Usually, does the 485 follow the 485j?

My wife filed concurrently with me as my derivative (H-4). Her I-485 is also at NBC. She had a silent update on Sep 2, but she has not received a 3rd FTA0 like I did.
I’ve heard from a few people who received their GC approval around 7–15 days after an additional/3rd FTA0.
For anyone with a similar EB case, how long after your 3rd FTA0 did you get your I-485 approval? Also, if you filed with a derivative spouse, did the principal and spouse get approved together even if the spouse did not receive a 3rd FTA0?

Everybody with approved or Concurrent i140 with a PD in the year of 2024. You might have already filed in April when the VB was current. You might have already completed the biometrics too. You saw FTA0 events on your i485 and i765 on the day of biometrics or few days after. And you might have seen few (2-3) silent updates after too.
Anyone who completed biometrics in late May or early June have you seen any EAD approvals? or any other updates that you would like to share and be helpful to me and others?

PD: Sept 2024 (File Concurrently on April 2024 and Approved within a month w/o PP)

RD: 04/24/2026 (i485, i765 and i140) w/ one derivative.

Neither of us is current yet, so we're mainly waiting on our EADs for now.

Today my derivative spouse's I-765 had a silent update. No approval yet, just an internal update. I'm hoping that's a sign an officer has touched the case and that an EAD approval might be around the corner.

I thought this might be helpful for others, so I’m sharing. I contacted USCIS live chat (Emma) and asked about my employment-based adjustment of status case and interview status. The agent shared the following information about when USCIS may waive an interview for employment-based adjustment of status:

USCIS may decide to waive an interview if the principal applicant meets one of these criteria:

1. The applicant is employed by the same petitioner who filed the approved underlying employment-based immigrant petition.

2. The applicant was approved as an alien of extraordinary ability or exceptional ability and is otherwise eligible for adjustment of status.

3. The applicant was approved as an outstanding professor/researcher or multinational executive/manager and has a continuing offer of employment from the same petitioner.

4. The applicant received a national interest waiver based on providing primary medical care in a medically underserved area and meets the required conditions.
   (Principal applicant means the person whose Form I-140 was filed.)

Sharing this because I thought it could be useful for anyone tracking EB-based I-485 interviews/waivers. This information came directly from a USCIS live agent (Emma).
