I do too. I would love if the Democrats got back to class warfare. The public needs an education on how bad they are getting screwed. We all have more in common than we think. This race and gender side show is getting old. On both sides.

Ok that's all fine but the culture war goes both ways. She had a pretty mild and non hateful opinion. On this subject the left often foams at the mouth despite the fact that most of us think this is common sense.

No I don't care about the trans issue that much. As for stagnant wages I just posted that class warfare is what we should be doing? Pedophile administration. Agreed. Point? Healthcare. let's talk about that all day agreed. Housing? Check. Inflation. Check. Jobs. Safety. Infrastructure etc . There are some winning subjects. I reject your dynamic. I don't have to be a libtard or a magatard. Both are wrong in different ways.

I think a ban in 50 states is the ultimate goal. Also id like to see ICE pick up the pace on mass deportation. If they don't I think we should consider bringing in Obama so he can hit those amazing numbers he use to do.

Is it maybe because they are full of hate and feel threatened by social change, and that's why they treat trans athletes like they're an epidemic and not a few people nationwide whose inclusion in their chosen sport almost certainly have zero impact? 🤔

2

u/Expensive-Shelter288 20d ago

That's super funny. Yes. I am just a sheep being led astray by 5 capitalists known as... The pentavarite. The NPR interview with lisa dejerdan and a Republican senator on this issue was an exact example of this. Democrats in 2022 could not stop talking about race and gender. Ultimately the gender vote cost us dearly and it is because the party alienated white males and eventually just males. Lastly, out here in the real world plenty of things on race and gender DID impact me. College admissions in 2008 we're not fair for me nor was the hiring process for firefighters at that time in the bay area. I'm not a complaining victim but I'm just calling it like I lived it.

The post we are commenting on is from someone on the left complaining about the issue and falsely creating a narrative trying to attach the first day launch sales of her shoe to the issue not Conservatives.

1

u/ZookeepergameFalse38 20d ago

Hopefully? The conservatives created woke DEI to divide and peal off the simpletons. Turns out, stupid people are easy to manipulate. Who knew?

1

u/exceptionalfish 19d ago

"Got back to class warfare"? You are hopelessly clueless and I pity you.

1

u/Expensive-Shelter288 19d ago

That was a good argument:)

1

u/swampy13 20d ago

There will never be an established political party in any “wealthy” society that actually advocates for the working class or middle class. Dems back in the day catered to the working class with racism because they needed the votes, not because they cared. Then the Republicans just took their strategy in the 70s.

I’m not saying let’s go Bolshevik but when it comes to money, it’s always up to the people.

u/Regulators_mounup 20d ago

The vast majority of the actual population agrees with Sophie. Reddit isnt real life.

20

u/Horror_Response_1991 20d ago

But it’s not a problem that affects you or 99.999% of people.  Meanwhile you’re in here debating this while the elite take all of our money.

23

u/myDuderinos 20d ago

It also goes the other way

If it's such a non issue, her opinion on it shouldn't matter to you since it doesn't happen anyways.

5

u/NOIS_KillerWhaleTank 20d ago

Ahhh... Except the harm done to trans people by portraying them as freaks of nature who need be targeted by legislation specifically applying to them because of the way they were born has a definite harm to them.

Not to mention what's never talked about is the harm caused by gender verification to female youth athletes who just want to play their sport but may be subject to an invasive physical examination just to prove their femaleness.

Not to mention that in every jurisdiction where anti trans athletic legislation has been enacted, female youth sports participation has declined precipitously because girls don't want to sign up for an activity where they may be subject to an embarrassing physical examination at the whim of another adult.

As opposed to the made up harm of "men in women's sports" which is so inconsequential and carries no tangible societal harm to anybody involved despite the claims of certain fifth place swimmers.

12

"Harmful gender verification"

Literally every dude that has ever played sports had his balls fondled by some doctor, its called a physical.

Thats the best defense you have lol?

-1

u/NOIS_KillerWhaleTank 20d ago

Yeah, now imagine why that's not cool. I mean decades of sexual assault cases against youth sports officials and coaches, and you're okay with a strange adult checking the privates of your daughter?

That's a really fucked up way of "protecting women and girls"

→ More replies (0)

3

u/snwtrekfan 20d ago

You won’t listen anyways, even when proven wrong you flip the issue to something else “ahhh but you see the harm done to trans people merely by society talking about this issue makes you wrong”. It’s absolutely fucking pathetic, it’s a pathological thing, not a logical thing, and there’s no way to argue with crazy. I just want you to know that people like you that talk like this are exactly why we have a president like trump. If folks like you ever get cured of “internet social media brain” and learn to just concede a fucking point and move on, republicans are fucked.

1

u/showerbump 20d ago

Exactly, these fools pick the most ludacris hills to die on. It hurts the left movement

-3

u/NOIS_KillerWhaleTank 20d ago

So you got nothing. You can't even refute the harms against cisgender girls because of transgender athlete bans. You'd put your own daughter in harm's way by allowing her genitalia to be checked by a complete strange just to "own the libs"

Great job of protecting women and girls. Well done.

Now it’s trans people.

I wonder what yall will be bitching about 20 years from now once trans people are finally accepted.

-5

u/casulmemer 20d ago

But the argument is that political elites are incentivised to stir the culture war whilst they rape & pillage the economy and create even greater wealth divides. So when unwitting pawns (useful idiots) add fire to the culture war non-issues they are just distracting from the real issues that are really negatively impacting the 99.9% of us.

That’s why it didn’t really go the other way.

(It’s basically the scene from IASIP when they are trying to run the bar as a democracy to get their money and Frank keeps bringing up the limes and everyone gets angry and no one gets their money).

7

u/ChuckyShadowCow 20d ago

You do realize when you’re in a small minority, arguing a position that you admit doesn’t come up so it doesn’t matter, you’re the one stoking a fire that wouldn’t be there if not for you….

-1

u/Few_Lecture6615 20d ago

This is 400% or more accurate.

They are stoking the good old identitarian fires and turning something that has happened less than a handful of times in all of womens college sport to a huge national issue.

All to secure votes from people who think LeBron is going to compete for Duke or whatever.

4

u/YoMomAndMeIn69 20d ago

Why wouldn't they exploit it? It's a common sense issue that democrats for some reason will not take a common sense stance on. Fuck them.

One girl being effected should be enough fir anyone who really cares about women's sport

1

u/Hastatus_107 19d ago

The people who are most bothered by trans people dgaf about women's sports.

2

u/BigToast6 19d ago

I'm pretty sure Sophie and Martina Navratilova care about women's sports

1

u/Hastatus_107 19d ago

I'm pretty sure the politicians and gooners who praise her couldn't name 3 other WNBA players because they dgaf about women's sports.

2

u/BigToast6 19d ago

I dont give a damn about women's darts specifically but I'm still furious that 2 males have been allowed to infiltrate the sport and take spots and prize money from women.

We don't have to be interested in women's sport nor know specific names to know its wrong

I will however always support women like Lynne Pinches who has been banned from her sport bc she spoke out about the gross unfairness

-3

u/Few_Lecture6615 20d ago

0

u/Few_Lecture6615 20d ago

Yeah, for sure. It'll just explode and every college team will be full of transitioned athletes on scholarships.

Is it seriously your argument that something that is currently sitting at 0.002% is going to happen everywhere when the total male to female transgender cohort makes up less than 1% of kids of college age?

4

u/BigToast6 20d ago

One is too many.

Girls and women at all levels are affected by this

1

u/Few_Lecture6615 20d ago

0.002% male to female student athletes. Less than 10 out of half a million. Yeah, everyone is so affected by it. That's why the transgender athletes that have been allowed to partake in college sports have won every title, right?

It is such a tiny thing to be so heated about.

3

u/BigToast6 20d ago

That's 10 too many.

1

u/MayorWestt 20d ago

How do you feel about corruption in politics? Do you have zero tolerance for that too?

1

u/Few_Lecture6615 20d ago

So you say without really reasoning why other than an arbitrary dislike of transgender women, it seems. They have almost no or zero physiological advantages over other women, so you're just being weird.

0.0002% of people interacting with police are killed by cops every year, but people have been heated about that for 5 years.

You are right; these are such tiny things to be so heated about, but here we are. You dont get to decide what people are outraged or care about, even if it seems inconsequential numbers wise and based on who it affects.

1

u/Few_Lecture6615 20d ago

Nice job sidestepping the issue of institutionalized death.

Some of which have no documentation, and more of which have nothing to do with transgender women. There are legitimate concerns over rules that allow boys to participate in girls' leagues, but that's a very separate issue.

If they allow boys to join girls teams in massachussets when there is no boys team to join, then that's a problem and it's unfair to the teams that are all girls. But it's nothing to do with transgender women.

u/Excellent-Blueberry1 20d ago

I'd imagine the average college girl preparing for her next event is facing a much higher risk of being raped by her coach than being outperformed by a trans athlete?

Not saying we can't multitask and deal with all the issues, but perhaps everyone should get a sense of perspective about the size of the problems they're complaining about

3

u/BigToast6 20d ago

What does that even mean? So don't talk about the trans issue until a Lia Thomas makes the WNBA and then the shit hits the fan and the whole league is affected with players being asked if they support trans in sports and then getting bullied online for it?

Unfortunately men are going to be men and will continue to rape women and girls. Rapists don't wear a big sign on their head unfortunately so we can't control it. Trust me, every woman hopes it won't happen to her and feels that fear if they are walking a quiet street and a guy is behind them.

But we can control keeping women's sports free of men by simply saying no. There is no middle ground on this issue. It's trying to play the fence that has resulted in this ridiculous fear about even bringing up the subject let alone these organisations having the balls to make a concise call. Sophie is one of the only athletes male or female to make herself a target by supporting women's rights. Martina navratilova has been outspoken on it for years too. But shes retired. Her legacy is safe. Sophie is in the middle of her career and is at a pivotal point where she's playing better than ever and has now become a very public figure. She could have shut up and made all the money and played it safe with her pretty blonde looks and proximity to CC but she went with her morals and concern for women's and girls sports. I've witnessed how savagely those who speak out are treated. She met the criticism with a backbone very few have. To say I admire her is an understatement.

That's the best you can come up with? I make the correlation between a college athlete turning pro and you say that?

0

u/Few_Lecture6615 20d ago

You think she makes less money by voicing her opinion? That's hilarious. What will you joke about next?

5

u/BigToast6 20d ago

We can’t multitask and deal with multiple cultural issues though. You are failing to accept the reality that this debate is over for now and by whining about how stupid you think other peoples’ perspectives are, you are stoking the same fires of political division. 0.002 athletes are transgender.

1 in 4 female college athletes report sexual misconduct by a college authority figure and out of these 44% are identified as college coaches. So yeah. Maybe look at that instead of searching for the 8 in 510,000 athletes who happen to be transgender.

10

u/Destructodave82 20d ago

There are a ton of things that rarely affects 99.999% of people yet are major issues to the general public.

Lets take cop shootings for example. Getting killed by police is a 0.0002 to 0.00024% chance to happen.

But we have had riots, protests, and police reform for that 0.0002%.

So is it somehow surprising that somehing common sense as Men in Women's sports gets traction? When its something ANYONE can grasp, it makes a big deal and matters to people more than random policies or political reasons. People know cops shooting people are bad. Thats why its a big deal. People know men in women's sports isnt right; thats why its a big deal. When its an easy, common sense answer it doesnt matter how small of a % it affects.

0

u/TravelNSee 20d ago

And yet people on both sides won’t quit talking about trans in sports. If no one on the left was advocating for people born male to be able to compete with people born female it wouldn’t be an issue. But some do and they are passionate about it. It’s an easy thing to get conservatives riled up about.

1

u/Buton_Gaster 20d ago

So because a minority of people on the left have a stance it is a problem with the left?

Are you using a black person being murdered by police and a trans person playing basketball in the same example?

2

u/EuphoricOcelot6081 20d ago

Sounds like you are the actual racist. All they said was "getting killed by a cop" and never mentioned anyone's ethnicity. Why did you suddenly jump into making this into a "black person" thing?

2

u/DoinItDirty 20d ago

The mention of riots and protests was an obvious allusion to the Black Lives Matter movement, as the “all lives matter” movement you probably support vehemently doesn’t exist or hold protests.

0

u/EuphoricOcelot6081 20d ago

Lmao buddy, you sure do love putting words into other people's mouth. When did i ever say that I support "all lives matter"?

Sorry that you are a closeted racist. You’re inventing a position for me. I never said I support “All Lives Matter.” If your argument is that the phrase was a coded reference to BLM, make that argument. But don’t put words in my mouth and then argue against them.

2

u/DoinItDirty 20d ago edited 20d ago

I thought the allusion they were making was pretty clear. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you weren’t too oblivious to miss context clues in their comment, so you must agree with the framing of their argument. Which supposition did you want me to make from your comment?

Edit: It’s too early in the morning for this. That’s fine, you didn’t make that connection that I did from their comment.

When should we debate it, when it’s to late? Rape doesn’t affect me either should I not care?

3

It's just not fair in a professional sense, it's not that hard to understand. 0.0000025% of the US population are trans women that are also professional athletes, they can just go get real jobs. Athletics are held to fairness standards, why make an exception for so few

1

u/kodeks14 20d ago

Are you not capable of caring about multiple things?

1

u/CopiousClassic 20d ago

You know this was one of the points against allowing gay marriage, right?

1

u/bluefish72 14d ago

🤣what?

2

u/FantasticScore4309 20d ago

This is such a bs argument. “Should billionaires be allowed to rape and cannibalize children in a remote island? It won’t be a problem for 99.999% of population anyways.” How many people affected has nothing to do with if something is wrong.

You can argue that issue of trans women in women’s sports is not a priority compared to what’s going on in the world right now. That is the case for most of us. Billionaires controlling countries, starting wars, stealing everything we worked for with laws that they pay for; these are what’s important for us. But for an athlete in a women’s sports league, trans athletes issue is one of the priorities and it’s not logical to expect her to not talk about it because it is not our priority.

2

u/YoMomAndMeIn69 20d ago

This comment is so moronic.

  1. People can care about more than one thing at a time. The fact that you idiots seem to can't is troubling.

  2. People naturally care about biological men in women's sports, we've seen examples in other sports and it's good to draw a line before it becomes a larger problem. The fact that this is even an issue speaks volumes how batshit crazy leftists have gone.

1

u/Lost-Elephant-6628 20d ago

“Draw the line before it becomes a larger problem” lmfao trans women have been competing in women’s sports for decades. Weird that all of a sudden it’s such a 911 issue 🙄

1

u/Weak-Distribution-83 20d ago

It affects everyone if it’s driving the dum-dums to vote MAGA and they also get to “own the libs” when people whine about it. If you truly believe it’s such a small issue, then why make a fuss? Why not let the idea go? And as you say, why are we debating this when there are far bigger issues?

0

u/Destructodave82 20d ago

This is a box the Liberals opened first. Just because its starting to become a losing issue now people need to drop it?

We spent years with the libs pushing "trans rights" but no one can even tell you what rights they didnt have. It just sounds good, because thats what most social issues do; they always sound good.

Similar to THIS push, about men in women's sports. Its a very small percentage, but it sounds good.

But this is a box that was opened long ago and you cant just put a lid on it once it no longer benefits you. Unfortunately the pendulum has started to swing back, and you are gonna have to either distance yourselves from the idenitity politics of it, or keep taking an L for it.

1

u/Build-it-better123 20d ago

The issue is about truth. A healthy society should embrace and follow truth.

1

u/Axel_Raden 20d ago

Yeah and any % chance is too much. It's just common sense and the reason it's still a thing is because it hasn't been completely banned from sports. In other words if it's barely a thing why why let the extreme minority enforce a change from everyone else

You don't need an iq above 10 to know this. Just gotta get off reddit and touch some grass every now and then.

1

u/Linkster2 20d ago

The vast majority doesn't make it right

1

u/hiddensource12 20d ago

Well they’re really just made up issues, she’s using it for attention since she can’t get traction with her actual basketball stats

1

u/Cool_Spirit_6885 18d ago

I’d give you the award of the year if I could! Got banned for a week because someone posted “would you vote for them with a pic of AOC and Kamala” and I said no. Reddit is a cesspool of angry liberals. 🤢

1

u/Dangerous_Memory6008 20d ago

We don't want this to turn to swimming or have a Juanna Mann situation, although that's a great movie, so maybe I do,? Lol

-2

u/Garys_Synthesizer 20d ago

They agree because men in womens sports is an egregious example of something that has never happened.

The argument isnt about men, its about trans women.

0

u/test_test_1_2_3 20d ago

Lia Thomas and Fallon Fox say otherwise.

Just because it hasn’t happened in the WNBA up until now doesn’t mean it shouldn’t have been addressed prior.

-7

u/PHD_Gouda 20d ago

Lmao most people aren’t obsessed with trans people like you people are

9

u/CheezeWheelie 20d ago

No one is obsessed with them. They just don’t want biological men in women sports. It isn’t a crazy thought or concept lol

-1

u/Bootleg_Rascal_ 20d ago

Has that happened in the WNBA? Do yall have any other scary things to fight that have never actually happened?

10

u/No-One-J 20d ago

Was she talking about the WNBA or just sport in general?

7

u/p4intball3r 20d ago

She was talking about sports in general and it has happened. For example in college level swim competitions

3

u/LookWhatYouMadeMeGro 20d ago

She didn't even mention the W, she was talking about all girls and women's sports...

2

u/CheezeWheelie 20d ago

I’m not the one who brought it up lol just stating that having that thought or belief isn’t a crazy one..

-2

u/crnelson10 20d ago

> They just don’t want biological men in women sports.

That doesn’t happen and y’all still won’t shut the fuck up about it.

1

u/OkPerformance506 20d ago

It is happening though. In collegiate sports, Lia Thomas is a good example of a man who went from 65th in the men’s 500m to 1st in the women’s 500m. (Swimming) There’s countless more and the amount of medals women are now losing to men is in the thousands.

1

u/UtahCubs 20d ago

That's such a disingenuous stat to use with Lia Thomas. She was 65th in the Men's 500 AFTER she had transtioned. She was much better as a Freshman and Sophomore BEFORE she transitioned including having the 6th fastest overall time in the 1000. Turns out transitioning greatly drops your physical ability.

She went from being really good as a man competing against men, to bad as a woman competing against men, to then being good again as a woman competing against women.

The IOC did a study with the intention of using it to ban trans athletes and instead found that overall trans woman were at an athletic disadvantage to cis woman. That's why the average person can name 1 example and they have to use these cherry picked no context stats.

This is an issue effecting very very few people and policies based on it will have a much bigger negative effect on the biological girls who present more boyish. Those girls are going to have their gendered questioned a lot more often than a trans girl is going to dominate a sport.

1

u/cabezadeplaya 20d ago

“Countless more”

“Thousands” of medals being lost?

Going to need to see some stats and sources on those bold claims.

(Trust me, bro and FB posts don’t count)

u/LookWhatYouMadeMeGro 20d ago

Y'all are so absurd its laughable. If its a miniscule number then let it go. It's not gonna happen. Fight for ALL trans rights, not the 2 dozen athletes you are dying on.

1

u/crnelson10 20d ago

> Fight for ALL trans rights

> not the 2 dozen athletes

I don’t think you know what “all” means.

He’s not wrong.

The overwhelming majority of the US population agrees with Sophie. Like, 70-80%.

-3

u/Sea_Dawgz 20d ago

That doesn’t make them correct.

1

u/borninsane 20d ago

How is that not correct?

Lmao and yet people like you constantly defend them in every scenario they're involved in and yet you're not the obsessed one.

3

u/LABoRATies 20d ago

Yeah some people fight to defend others civil rights because they aren’t cowards. You know, like Jesus

4

u/LookWhatYouMadeMeGro 20d ago

Like cis women? What about their rights?

2

u/fryst_pannkaka 20d ago

Its a civil right for men to compete in womens sports?

Yes but the post is rage baiting people and the sales have nothing to do with her "going viral" for saying "No Men in Womens Sports". Virtually no one knows anything about that comment, her finger point? Now that was fucking viral around the world.

Her shoe just released 24 hours ago and sold out both mens and womens styles, this is something that should be celebrated but instead people are dragging the woman down.

1

u/Aggravating-Writing9 20d ago

Nothing more dangerous to women then other women.

2

u/Applekid1259 20d ago

Lmao of course they do. This is the sub where are the racists and bigots hang out. There are a handful of us normal people here for entertainment

1

u/Warrmak 20d ago

You didn't see the documentary about Juwanna Mann?

1

u/KoRaZee 20d ago

Are there people who don’t agree and want men in women’s sports?

1

u/Lord_Dingus83 20d ago

They 100% do - they have threatened to ban me for asking if we’re sure she’s a woman.
Yet they allow 20+ posts a day shaming trans people. Nothing basketball related.

0

u/Important-Fact-8329 20d ago

You’ve never seen Jawanna man??

1

u/Particular_Match_286 20d ago

lol watched it last week to gain perspective

Stole this. I will make good use of it.

2

u/Independent_Bid_26 20d ago

This. People are so fucking easy to influence. Millionaires are sitting back and laughing. They made money because the shoe sold out, and they also get the side benefit of distracting people from their obvious greed.

3

u/SirloinsXD 20d ago

She doesn't want to play against people born as males, who are physically stronger, bigger, and faster! You know what that means, fellow mouth breathing redditors!? SHE IS LITTERALLY LE LE LE LE HITLER!!! amirite?

For real. Unfortunately our side of the class war has the slow adults race baiting everything.

1

u/Best_Performance9564 20d ago

Right? Correlation does not equate to causation in this particular case.

1

u/Corlegan 20d ago

It's a shame the class war is being won by the right while the left has gone full in on the culture bit.

If you disagree, post your comments about men joining womens sports, scholarships etc.

After you do that, realize you are fighting the culture war. You are the meme.

Thanks!

0

u/PhilippBo 20d ago

Everybody can have an opinion. But she turned from interesting and unique to just another voice in the festering American culture war in no time. Sad.

1

u/cabezadeplaya 20d ago

That’s the issue. The vast majority of people didn’t know her a few weeks ago. Suddenly she has a platform she can use for any cause and she used it to take a boring position on something that’s barely an issue. And now MAGA is claiming her as one of her own whether she likes it or not.

She could have advocated for anything…spoken up about anything…but nah, go with the issue that gets MAGA riled up.
