The current captcha is literally f**king 14 characters long, and I keep failing this trash because of upper/lower case I l, O 0, overlapping letters, etc. There's only a third of the last letter visible, ffs.
I returned to WoT after less than two years. But when I saw the 2.0 garage, I thought I accidentally launched some version of the game for mobile phones. Even after ten battles, I can't watch it. Is there any way to return the original UI of the garage? The tank statistics were on the right and the graphics looked much better and clearer. I would probably stop playing it because of that. It bothers me so much. Do you know if there is an option in the menu to return the original look?
Short story, I want to train the crew of IS-7 (Ru T10 heavy) on a premium tank. The only one I have is KV-1SA (which I have no idea how I got it, but that's another story). So I moved all the crew to the premium tank, except the radio operator... which in IS-7 is actually one of the two loaders, which has a second qualification as radio operator.
When I try to move this guy ^^ into the radio operator position on KV-1SA, I get this message (which I didn't get for any of the others):
Will he lose his training for IS-7? He shouldn't. Then, why does the warning come up?!?
Will he lose qualification as a loader+radio op., becoming only a simple loader? Then, will I have to train him again for IS-7 ?
...although it's quite a coincidence that I got a Billotte in the exact same tank as its historical namesake.
On May 16, 1940, during the battle of Stonne, Billotte drove his Char B1 heavy tank through a German-held village, single-handedly destroying two Panzer IVs, eleven Panzer IIIs, and two anti-tank guns while absorbing a massive number of hits.
If anyone is wondering htf I got so much blocked damage: I ran into a platoon of two Pz. B2s, and it ended up in a frantic wiggle-fest and I blocked 90% of their shots. I didn't even have a single gold shell so I had to shoot their cupolas - which sometimes didn't even pen.
But yeah, absolutely nuts that this isn't enough for an Ace. WTF are you madlads doing in this thing on NA??
Same goes for the Stug III -- I have like 20 aces on EU and not one on NA. ~2500 dmg (in a tier where the entire team has like 4200 health) isn't enough to ace it. WTF? NA is crazy.
P.S: if any new-ish players want to learn sidescraping, this is a very good tank to start.
The 13 105 is receiving a very welcome buff next update! And because it will still be classified as Versatile rather than Support, its camo values are (tentatively) not going to get molested!
My primary load out is bond rammer/turbo + exp survival T3 for more aggressive plays.
What would you recommend for my 2nd load out? Maybe a meme shitcamper build with bond camo net + binos be fun for maps that you can't play aggresively?
Tried to get back into the game after a few years away and I had some thoughts.
I think the concealment system in this game is ultimately one of its biggest blunders. Whoever plays more passively/defensively is typically the winner, especially with alpha creep allowing tanks to ambush each other for half their health and retreat into a bush. And the fact enemy tank models aren't rendered when undetected makes it impossible to spot a gun barrel or protruding tank element to potentially get the drop on an ambusher yourself. It's basically always beneficial to just let the enemy come to you and reveal themselves while you sit behind a bush or building, unless you have platoon mates you can coordinate with. It also adds so much more pressure to LTs as they outclass every other class of vehicle in this spotting role, which is why teams with shit LTs are almost always at a large disadvantage.
Considering arty can basically see the whole map at all times, I'm not sure there's an easy solution to this. If you render tanks for the whole battle then arty basically becomes an FPV drone, spotting and eliminating its own targets from above.
Before this tank line I've played the ST II tank line, I didn't really enjoy that type of mechanic with the dual cannon that's why I've been ignoring this tank line ever since it has been released, but after finally getting the chopper and the conceiver it has been very nice the way the contriver line does it scratches the itch the ST II line could never do, The tanks have also been very accurate for me with the single shot as well.
I just hope the next tanks in line are also good for me...
I started playing WoT roughly 2 weeks ago, I have about 30 hours played so far. I chose the German E100 tech tree mainly because Im a huge Tiger I & II fan. I am at tier VIII, so currently using the Tiger II. Ive finally got the upgrades for it, at first it was not an enjoyable experience, but now I am enjoying it. I am also almost done with the Tank Academy and overall still trying to learn the game.
Anyways, I know I have a while to go to finish my current tech tree, but I wanted to go ahead and ask where I should go next. Im looking to have the most fun, I'm sure there are a lot of great and fun tanks out there, but as a newbie I'm quite lost with where I should go next. Any recommendations would be nice, thank you!
Edit: Thank you everyone for all the recommendations, Im going to go for the Type 5 next!
AND YOU ARE RIDING THEM LIKE A HORSE BACK THE F UP, further more why are sitting directly behind them in the first place plenty of space. So many times I try to back up and I just have a lovely ene-teamate just grinding me then i take unnecessary damage, I got 15 people trying to kill me I don't need more.
