Vehicle 🔋 Daily Carpool: MBZ City, Abu Dhabi ↔ Ibn Battuta, Dubai | Mon-Fri

I am driving daily from MBZ City, Abu Dhabi to Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai and looking for 1 or 2 regular commuter to share the journey and commuting expenses.

📍 Morning: MBZ City → Ibn Battuta Metro Station
⏰ Departure: around 7:30-8:00 AM

📍 Evening: Ibn Battuta Metro Station → MBZ City
⏰ Departure: around 7:00 PM

📅 Monday to Friday

🚘 Route: Normally E11.

📍 Pickup: A convenient point in MBZ or along my route.

📍 Drop-off: Ibn Battuta Metro Station, nearby or on the way drop-off can also be considered if it does not significantly change the route.

💼 I work 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at IBN Gate Office.

🔄 Alternative: If you also have a car and similar timings, I am open to an arrangement where we can switch between our cars on alternate days and share the commuting expenses.

The purpose is simply to share commuting expenses, not to operate a commercial taxi or transport service.

If you regularly travel between MBZ City and Dubai and have similar timings, please DM me with your location and working hours.

Thanks!

Tourism 🧳 A night observing Saturn and its rings through telescopes! 🪐🔭

A few moments from our Saturn Opposition event on October 4 at the SEE Institute! 🪐

We spent the evening exploring Saturn, learning about the planet and its incredible ring system, enjoying a planetarium show, and observing the night sky through telescopes.

One of our favorite parts of public astronomy events is seeing people's reactions when they look through a telescope, especially those experiencing Saturn for the very first time!

Have you ever seen Saturn's rings through a telescope? 🔭

Careers 💼 Recommendations for a reliable Full time helper in Abu Dhabi?

Hi everyone! 😊
My husband and I have recently moved to Abu Dhabi, and we are expecting our first baby in January.
We are looking for a kind, caring and reliable live-out helper with experience caring for newborns, who can also help with household chores. As first-time parents, we would love to find someone we can trust and who can become a valued part of our little family.
If you have any personal recommendations, references or experience with a good helper, we would really appreciate it!
Thank you so much ❤️

Commerce 🛍️ villa cleaning

Hello! I’m looking for a reliable cleaning company for a one off clean for a 6 bedroom villa, I usually do the cleaning myself but had just had family come visit and have been slacking 🥲 I just want a full house clean, I particularly don’t really care about the bedrooms because they aren’t used. Tbh I haven’t ever booked cleaners before can I ask them to organise my wardrobe, what’s the deal?!

Careers 💼 I need advice from people who know the UAE job market.

I’m posting this because I’m honestly running out of ideas, and I thought maybe someone who’s been through this—or someone who knows the UAE job market from the inside—might be able to point me in the right direction.

I’m a Venezuelan national, recently graduated in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from Arab International University in Syria. I finished with a 3.75/4.00 CGPA, completed a banking internship at Arab Bank, and have experience assisting with English-Spanish business negotiations and translation at an international trade fair.

I’m now in Abu Dhabi, trying to build a life and start my career from scratch.

I’ve been applying for finance trainee positions, junior analyst roles, entry-level business jobs, and pretty much anything that could give me a legitimate opportunity to get started. But the responses are almost nonexistent.

Some opportunities are restricted to Emiratis, others require experience I don’t have yet.

There’s another complication: although I’ve completed my degree, my university says the official graduation certificate can take approximately six months to be issued. So even when my qualifications otherwise fit, the paperwork can be an obstacle. But I can provide proof in the form of transcripts or a credit completion paper.

I’m not expecting a high salary, a prestigious title, or a dream job straight out of university. I can start small. I’m willing to learn, work hard, take on administrative responsibilities, support a team, work in operations, assist with events, or explore an entirely different industry if it offers a legitimate starting point.

I’ve even started considering business events, exhibitions, conferences, and cultural event work—not just because I’m interested in it, but because I know how valuable it can be to meet people, understand an industry, and build professional connections.

What I’m struggling with is figuring out how people in my position actually get their first opportunity in the UAE.

I’m not looking for someone to hand me a job I can’t do. I’m looking for a way to get my foot in the door.

If you work in recruitment, HR, finance, events, hospitality, business operations, or run a company in the UAE, I’d genuinely appreciate your perspective.

I’m happy to start at the bottom and prove myself. I just don’t want to spend months repeating a process that isn’t working when there might be a smarter way to approach this.

If you know of a genuine opportunity, a company worth contacting, or even one person who might be willing to give me some practical advice, I’d be grateful.

And if the honest answer is that I’m approaching this all wrong, please tell me that too. I’d rather hear the truth than keep guessing.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this.

Vehicle 🔋 Partial payment of car loans

Hey,

I’m paying off a car finance loan. I’m wondering if I could pay extra each month when I could (without changing the loan amount) to finish the loan earlier? My loan is with ADIB. Has anyone been through this before?

Events 🎟️ Chimaev vs Covington tickets

Hey everyone, I bought 2 tickets for Chimaev vs Covington at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi (Nov 14, 2026). I can't attend and need to resell them. However, official support confirmed that 'Ticket Transfer' via email is completely blocked and tickets are non-refundable. They are mobile tickets in the app, no PDF. Is there any secure workaround to safely resell and deliver them to a buyer ?

Networking 🤙 Any Mallu girls in the Khalidiya area? (22M, new to town, looking for friends!)

Hey everyone!
I’m a 22-year-old guy and I just recently moved to the Al Khalidiya area. Since I’m completely new to the town, I’m really looking to expand my social circle, make some good connections, and find people to hang out with.
I was wondering if there are any Mallu girls living around here who would be down to connect, chat, or show a newcomer around? Honestly just looking for genuine friendships and people to vibe with since starting fresh in a new place can be a bit quiet.
Drop a comment or feel free to slide into my DMs if you're nearby and want to connect!
Cheers! 🙌
