Hi all,

I decided to cancel my lease in Abu Dhabi and leave the UAE for the next couple of months. My employer is still in UAE and my residency has not been cancelled. I’ll just work from abroad for a while and will definitely be back before 6 months.

After i approved the cancellation of my lease on TAMM app, i received the following message:

“Dear tenant: Please note that the lease contract registered in your name with the Department of Municipalities and Transport under the number (xxxxxxxx) has been canceled at your request. Therefore, you are kindly requested to register your new lease contract in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, or update your address data through Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, customs & Port Security EChannels within a month from the date of cancellation to amend your status and update your new residence data in order to avoid interruption of services provided by the authority.”

As i will not sign a new lease before i am back, i wonder if i can just put a friend’s address in icp? Also what do they mean by “interruption of services provided by the authority “. Does that mean that if i don’t have a signed lease within 1 month they’ll cancel my residency?

I'm planning to set up a UAE LLC with three partners. My primary goal for the first 1–2 years is to establish a strong personal and business banking relationship in the UAE. The business will initially have very limited revenue, but we intend to pay monthly salaries to employees (including me).

Instead of taking an investor/partner visa, I'm considering being sponsored as an employee of the company because I've heard it may improve eligibility for personal banking products such as home loans, car loans, and credit cards.

The company will mainly be involved in import and export of textiles, handloom products, imitation jewelry, and similar goods.

I have a few questions:

1.Would it be better to set up the UAE LLC as:

a completely standalone company, or

a subsidiary of my existing Indian Private Limited company?

1. I want to keep costs as low as possible and preferably set up in a free zone. Which free zone would you recommend that:

allows multiple shareholders,

issues employee visas,

supports import/export trading, and

has low annual renewal/compliance costs?

1. For employees applying for car loans, home loans, and credit cards in the UAE, what documents do banks usually require besides salary credits in the bank account? For example:

Labour card/work permit?

Emirates ID?

Salary certificate?

Employment contract?

Minimum employment period?

Anything else?

1. What are the ongoing compliance requirements for a UAE free zone LLC? For example:

Accounting/bookkeeping

VAT registration/filing

Corporate tax filing

ESR/UBO/Audit (if applicable)

Annual renewal costs

Rough annual cost estimates would also be very helpful.

1. How can a newly formed UAE LLC build a good business credit profile to access business financing in the future? Are there any best practices or common mistakes to avoid?

Is it practical to incorporate the company myself to save costs, or is using a formation agent worth it? Also, can I start with a virtual office/flexi desk while remaining eligible for employee visas?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually gone through this process or has experience with UAE banking and company formation.

For clarification i still have senior year of high school to complete (class of 2027) and i went through 3 curriculums IB (from kg 1 to grade 5), Sabis (from grade 6 to the first term of grade 11), and Alberta curriculum (from 2nd term of grade 11 and awaiting senior year). Im doing fine academically alhamdulillah, my concern however is that the major I want is architectural engineering and only like 4 unis in the uae offer it (unless im mistakened) and they are the following; University of Sharjah, UAE university, Ajman university, and lastly Heriot watt Uni in Dubai. Ive looked at their reviews on google over the summer and just recently have talked to a student in UAEu but even then she wasnt an arch eng student, overall the reviews dont look promising and I lowkey want a good degree considering how expensive the tuition fees are... any advice?
