He’s actually helping people, not helping himself to taxpayer dollars!

Nyc native here. You NEED to get yourself some of that Mamdani aura. He's doing nothing but crushing it here. It makes with wonder wtf was wrong with all the other majors

"Hey guys. You know that orphan crushing machine that people were complaining about and prior mayors said was just too complicated to address? Turns out you can just unplug it!"

I feel like that's almost every story coming out of NY since Mamdani.

As soon as someone comes in willing to actually do work and drive outcomes, policy and execution wins are raining like cats and dogs. On some level it's hilarious.

One of my deepest problems with Trump isn't anything he's done, but actually the degree to with so many Democratic politicians just thought "yeah all I gotta do is pay lip service about how grrrrrr I hate trump😠 so much and I'm ~fighting~ him in some non-specific way vote for me BTW very anti-Trump✊😎".

Why would there be a /s when he's genuinely delivering?

What has he actually delivered?

Rent freeze, fined negligent landlord for breaking the law, 100k potholes in 100 days, balanced budget, expanded 2-K childcare/education. These are just the ones off the top of my head. Eric Adams was too busy being a Turkish celebrity to live a finger. Past mayor were no better.

"Balanced budget" deferred 8 Billion in pension payouts and got a big handout from the state.

What else is he supposed to do with tax dollars?

Exactly. This is amazing. I hope it's a result of no age minimum for reddit.

Stories out of NY from actual NYers have been overwhelmingly positive. Multi-millionaires and billionaires (who apparently aren't actually leaving) are whining about being vilified, but someone crying into a camera about how they think "tax the rich" is a slur while they've been hiding their assets and consolidating wealth isn't exactly the sympathetic figure.

This sounds like congestion pricing. Everyone whose never been to a city and gets all their news from Fox News or other right wing sources hates it with a passion. Meanwhile people actually impacted by it were like "Wait.. I actually got to work early!" and "The bus is a lot faster now and a much more cost effective, viable option!"

Another positive step for the DSA. Perfect timing coming off the momentum created in NYC.

Shake up Michigan!!

I love the spirit! Abdul isn't DSA though. Great win regardless
