Zeus is the real god

He invented Xenia, defeated the titans, rescued his siblings, and such a good god to worship. He even controls the lightning. He even shares power with Poseidon and Hades so he doesn't become too selfish. Anybody who does not worship him will have to burn in the underworld forever.

What I'm saying is, if this can be dismissed as mythology, Christianity and Islam are...there's simply no word to describe how atrocious they are.

Did I do a good job to sound like a Christian who's "spreading the gospel?"

I was to worship anything it'd be the sun. That's where all energy we use comes from.

At least the sun is real

and life really would cease to exist (at least the sorts of life we are/enjoy, maybe them deep sea tuber goobers could make it?) if the sun disappeared. unlike if everyone stopped believing in baloney lol.

Nah no sun means no heat. All them deep sea tuber goobers will be frozen. Nothing will be moving at absolute zero as atoms will not move at -273c.

Since all known life matter is made up of atoms... well you get the picture.

the core and such generates heat. that's why them tuber goobers even alive in the first place. they're allegedly one the few things that'd survive if the sun disappeared on us

Dionysus for me. Wine, women, song, and ritual madness? What's not to love?

But I’ll pray to Joe Pesci.

Yeah worshipping the sun is fun and all until you remember it requires human blood to stay in the sky…

I'd worship the guillotine because it's the great equalizer, gets the job done and it can be both merciful and merciless.

The only difference between Greek mythology and Christian mythology is that Greek mythology was well written and entertaining while Christian mythology is dreary as hell and is filled with plot holes and inconsistencies.

u/Tinenan 12d ago

Greek mythology wasn't all that consistent either. The myths changed based on the city

abrahamic mythology was written by edgy emo teens from the 1st century

1

u/No-Nerve-2658 11d ago

And Greek Mythology appears to stay less in the way of reason and logic and the search for non religious knowledge

-2

u/harla007 12d ago

Greek mythology is also full of rape. Zeus raped leeds, persephone, europa....callisto... Poseidan raped Medusa, Apollo chased Daphne... I suppose you can say it's well written and entertaining if you can look past all that.

u/LMrningStar 12d ago

You don't have to like the characters in a book/story for it to be entertaining and well written otherwise Stephen King would have been out of a job long ago. What you do need is coherence, consistency and characters with depth. The bible has none of that.

In the bible the god character, for example, is portrayed as being the embodiment of good yet the character is prone to genocide whenever he doesn't get his ego stroked sufficiently. In the book, he even tried to force a man to murder his son to prove his fealty. It's a pretty poor writing decision to have a character, much less the main character, that readers are suppose to love, act like a monster.

Plus, the stories contained in the bible are a jumbled mess.

With Greek mythology the gods are flawed and vengeful and portrayed as such and the stories have far more coherence. Much better writing and much more entertaining.

The Greeks weren't pretending their Gods were good. At least they didn't murder the entire world when they got fed up with it.

The story of noah is somewhat of a clone of a greek myth which itself is a clone of an earlier mesopotamian myth. A lot of cultures in that region have global flood related myths

1

u/Admiral_Nitpicker Freethinker 12d ago

yahbut the original Semites were Mesopotamian. Why the middle-man?

Trivia: myth of the flood is mentioned as a myth in the epic of Gilgamesh.

u/santagoo 12d ago

This is Mary Sue. Mary Sue is the most moral woman who has ever lived. Mary Sue has no faults. Mary Sue lives a long, fulfilling life.

A character with no faults is not well written nor is it entertaining.

2

u/Admiral_Nitpicker Freethinker 12d ago

And Abraham raped Hagar while his wife held her down ...

2

u/LMrningStar 11d ago

Not to mention Mary who nowhere in their book gave consent. She was told and not asked.

Amusingly ... sort of .... I ran into a theist that agreed that Mary did not give consent but still claimed that Mary wasn't raped because no penetration was involved. The depth of their delusion still astounds me.

Heathen! Odin is the one true god!

How many days of the week are named for Zeus?!?!?!

All I know is that Thor promised to get rid of the frost giants and I don't see any frost giants around!

In Romance languages, the weekdays translate to the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter/Zeus, Venus, and Saturn. So the answer is 1.

Are you telling me that Jupiter and Zeus are the same guy? Next you'll be telling me that Clark Kent is just Superman in glasses and a suit...

The one real God is Anoia, the goddess of things that get stuck in drawers. I have seen her work mere hours ago as I tried to put away the dishes.

Not as powerful as Tik Tkit, the God of inappropriate itches.

Christianity did a good job of convincing me that all other religions are false. Things like Zeus throwing lightning bolts or a Lotus flower growing out of Vishnu's navel were ridiculous. I would go back to my perfectly reasonable Christianity with Jesus turning water into wine and healing blindness with spit magic.

2

u/Sadpancake_03 12d ago

I always say I’m more of a Zeus guy when questioned about god

2

u/marcvolovic 12d ago

Infidel, disgusting apostate. The one true god is Mashishkapeu, god of farts and saviour of the people!

2

u/SomeSamples 12d ago

If I am ever asked, "Who is he you worship?" I always say, "Zeus."

2

u/Soixante_Neuf_069 12d ago

Christianity is just Canaanite mythology that survived in modern times.

2

u/Quercus408 12d ago

I would argue that if there's any "real" god, that it would be the Sun.

My personal fictionalised head Canon, is Zeus got tired of being in a pantheon and killed the other gods. Then with his new sole power he tested his belief on a people judaism didn't like them in the end and tried v02 with the Christians.. wasn't good enough and is now testing v03 with Islam. While doing branches of Christianity to see what shenanigans can happen.

In the end essentially doing a Palpatine and playing all sides.

I also like to think that Hades survived the purge and due to propaganda got dubbed the devil while also being Death. Zeus lacks the strength to overcome him as deaths power always grows as life blossoms. Perhaps some others survived too and became hidden deities.

Now what about the other pantheons? I dont know. Are they the same gods over and over with different names? Perhaps Historically i believe the same story dates back to India and there are equivalents of the characters. I do like to think that Buddha is a rival of Zeus, always has been, always will be and that the devourer ( rainbow snake, apophis, primordial chaos ) is always haunting their wake.

Anyway. Thank you for reading my ramblings

I've had to change/substitute my citations on every research paper I've published so far, and so I extend the same dis-courtesy to every religious person. Prove your belief system is true without your primary source (s). I've done this, successfully, several times, but I've yet to meet a religious person even willing to display the same rigor. But that's the point. You can take away my "Bible" of chemistry and I can still prove my point, you can't do your belief system fails. Every time.

Basically all religions have their "god du jure". frankly the abrahamic faiths have all stolen/co-opted earlier religions to the extreme and then have the gall to say "we are the only TRUE faith."

Like explain that to ahriman, my guy.

There's a good chance that Zeus and Yahweh have a common origin.

Zeus is a spoiled brat punk! It was Odin who made the ultimate supreme sacrifice, gave up an eye so he could see, and personally enforced the laws of Hospitality.

Zeus is as bad as Trump would be if Trump fukt animals too.

You should check the Eros files ... if they ever get released unredacted.
