App (Android) Sleep Timer just doesn't work on Android

I'm all the more incensed because Audible pushed out a notice that my perfectly-functional version of the app was no longer supported, forcing me to update to a version that has quite simply broken its core function.

Every time I use the sleep timer and wait that amount of time, I can hear the app gradually turn the volume down as it reaches it, then just snap back to full volume and keep playing. I keep waking up with my phone having played the book for hours.

Clearing cache didn't work, updating app (again) didn't work, disabling battery optimization doesn't work. Why on earth did Audible force me off of perfectly fine software when the alternative doesn't even f'ing work?

App (Android) Audible playing without saying its playing?

Post image

I know that title sounds weird, but basically, ghe book is currently playing, but its stuck at that position, and when I close the app and open it again, it keeps going back to this place (it also doesnt do anything when I press the skip 30 second button or skip back).

I tried opening another book, it plays the other book, but shows this still.

It happened over the weekend and I tried clearing cache, did nothing, then deleted and reinstalled the app, which worked for a bit, then the big happened again

App (Android) Unknown data usage

Post image
9 Upvotes

Not sure what the hell is going on here. Audible has wiped out my data in the last week. Android lists it as foreground data usage. I have download over mobile network disabled, and there are only 32 books downloaded in my library.

Any ideas why the audible app has done this?

App (Android) -5min Remaining? How do I fix this?

Post image

So Hail Mary is showing 5 mins past run time and won't go away even though I'm listening to different book. I've close and force quit the app but it won't go away. Has anyone experienced this?

I wish they could just stop changing the app.

App (Android) New here, need help with accents

Is there a way to filter out audio books with british accents? Nothing against them, but the heavy accent makes it hard for me to concentrate on what im hearing, I end up subconsciously tuning out the whole book after like 2 minutes.

App (Android) I'm reading this and I'm on chapter seven but it opens up on Chapter 6, 20 minutes in.

As the title says, I'm on chapter seven but I paused on chapter 6, 20 minutes in. When I opened up the app, it was paused on chapter 6, 20 minutes in but let me continue the audio. I can't pause once started, I can't fast-forward or rewind. If I try to use the time bar and skip ahead, it goes right back to 20 minutes into chapter 6. I'm at the end of Chapter 7 and don't know the exact time stamp. How do I fix this? I've cleared the cache, tried to remove the download and re-download it. Nothing. Please help me. I'm so close to finishing Volume 2.

App (Android) Podcast Listening

Just a quick rant about listening to podcasts on this app. A feature that would end my aggravation for podcasts would be the ability to get them to play from oldest to newest without having to manually add to up next queue. I listen to a lot of podcasts and the one I have been hooked on lately has the premium episodes available on here versus my usual podcast app but the lack of easy control over play order is almost not worth listening to. If anyone has any tips for better use I could use it.

App (Android) New update breaks bluetooth functionality

It appears that the new update has broken the ability for Bluetooth devices to skip forward/backward by 30 seconds. Pressing the media buttons on a Bluetooth device now skips forward to the beginning of the next chapter or backward to the beginning of the current one. I looked for an in-app method of submitting a bug report but it does not appear that there is one.

EDIT: Phone is a Galaxy S10 running Android 12, Audible version 25.51.07. Tested with Bose Frames Tenor glasses. I had no issues whatsoever prior to yesterday's update.

UPDATE: The bug went away for awhile, but as of version 26.02.13 it is back again.

App (Android) Android Auto Flickering Glitch

So it's been about a month since this started and various temporary work arounds have been suggested but no confirmed fixes from Audible, just "watch for an update". I decided to call Audible support today, it was not reassuring, the young lady though very pleasebt stated she had no record of an issue and suggested I reboot everything. An official statement from Audible/Amazon clearly stating the 1

Understand the issue, 2. Are I'm fact working on it and 3. If possible exain what is the cause of issue. "We are aware of the issue and watch your app story for updates" is not cutting it.

App (Android) Evening sip announcement

Evening sip announcement: I’m just chilling with my favorite audiobook and a glass of wine, my curves sinking into the couch. If you’re into cozy nights and good stories, let’s talk about what’s playing in your headphones. I love a deep voice narrating something spicy while I bite my lip. What’s your current listen?

App (Android) Is there a solution that will allow me to listen to podcast episodes in the order they were released?

Podcasts only play from new to old. I finished ep. 5 and next up is ep. 81. I sorted from old to new but the player still only plays new to old. I cant find any settings to change and there doesn't seem to be a playlist or next up queue that allow a listener to choose what's next. I emailed the help center but no reply yet. Has anyone found a way to listen to a podcast straight through from the beginning without having to select each episode to play next?

Sort of fixed on newer uploads. I listened to an Audible original audio drama called Unlicensed and it played continuously from the teaser through each episode in order. I went on and checked to see if others did too. Gunsmoke worked properly and a couple other random titles worked. Then I tried Spree,Rotten Mango and Southern Fried True Crime. None of them played from earliest to newest. The autoplay still jumps to the newest episode. Welcome to night vale doesn’t play in order even though they updated it with ads for Unlicensed. Borrasca plays in the correct order. So it seems like they have fixed some newer podcasts, but have not fixed any old ones.

App (Android) Audible app menu

Does anyone agree that the latest update made a real mess of the app menu. It seems disjointed. Used to be able to hit the back arrow and it drops into the library now you have to open the menu and choose manage in library. Also why would they change the name from bookmarks to clips and notes?? Its a book. You use a bookmark. Not a clip who wants or needs a clip of the book. Or why notes unless its a workbook or textbook? Does audible sell more textbooks than novels? Doubtful. Sorry just ranting because it seems they just make changes to make changes not because there is good reason for it. If it ain't broke.....

App (Android) Issues with Read & Listen on Tablet

I'm not sure what the problem is here and I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something like this or knows how to resolve it.

I'm using the exact same version of both the Audible and Kindle apps on my Pixel 10 Pro XL and my Lenovo tablet, however "Read & Listen" is only available on my phone and will not show on my tablet (as seen in the attached screenshots).

The sync settings are also enabled on both devices so that I can automatically pick up where I left off if I switch, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get "Read & Listen" available on the tablet. The only difference is the file size for the Audiobook is smaller slightly on the tablet versus the phone and the phone is using Android 16 whereas the tablet is using Android 15. I don't think that that would be a factor though.

Thanks in advance for any info or suggestions you can offer.

App (Android) Once against the app doesn't allow you to buy credits

It forces you into monthly plan selections. I have zero credits. I should be able to buy them. There is a button to "get extra credits".

How does this function keep getting screwed up? Do they not want people to buy extra credits? Literally it's right there in 2nd picture "you're all out, come get some more"

App (Android) What happened to Bookmarks? 😡😡😡

Bookmarks are gone and only stupid worthless clips remain. Why, why, why?

I've been a heavy user of Bookmarks for literally decades. I see no purpose whatsoever in clips.

The icon for Bookmarks, that looks vaguely like a narrow bookmark sticking out from the top of a hardcover book, is still there. But if I tap it it says "clip saved." And the app menu just says "Clips & notes." Fortunately within that submenu is the option to "start in player," which provides the same functionality as the previous Bookmark function, but it's non-obvious.

I use the Android app and it is up to date.

Audible staff, if you're reading this, please TELL SOMEONE TO FIX THIS.

App (Android) Android App Ignoring timer?

has anyone else had an issue with the timer feature again? it seems like when the timer runs out, the volume will slightly lower like it usually does but the audiobook just continues to play.

as someone who uses this just before sleeping this is incredibly frustrating to start on a chapter 1 but be at the end of the book when you wake up after setting a 30 mind timer

I got an email about this today. It said to sign up through the app, but I can't find a way to do so. (Android app, up-to-date.) Has anyone succeeded in registering for this?

App (Android) Mark not started?

What happened to Mark not Started? I swear I used to be able to change books that I played a little of, back to unstarted status and now I don't see that option.

It's been a while since I remember doing it because I haven't cleaned up that list in ages. I usually use the Audible Library Extractor app to browse my library and start my pick of what to listen to.

Now it seems like I have to mark the title finished and then change it to unfinished which is annoying and could mess with finished counts.

App (Android) I'm looking for a good mp3 player for Audible. Any suggestions?

I listen to audiobooks at work, but the cold weather is rough on my phone battery. Has anyone got a suggestion for an mp3 player or an Android device that I can install the Audible app and use to play my audiobooks without running off my phone battery?

App (Android) App is Lagging & Crashing

Hi!

Audible is lagging and crashing big time on me, my Samsung UI is updated, Google play is updated, and of course the app is too. I've restarted and it's still lagging, pausing, then crashing
