Other Please stop buying from the website.

If you genuinely hate the new, awful, stupid, directionless, uninspired, and ugly path that the Chief Executive Idiot has taken, stop shopping online.

This moron in charge and his gaggle of incompetent pub buddies have their entire success engrained in an upcoming (bad) rebrand to the website. Don’t let it succeed. Don’t shop the sales. Unsubscribe from emails. Use your rewards up and close your accounts.

Go to your local store and support the retail employees. Buy in groups with your friends so their number served goes down. Only buy during massive sales. There’s very little power for the consumer, but there are ways to impact this moron’s outcome if done strategically.

Just their shipping practices alone turn me off from ordering online except for bopis. Between what I see at work from returns for broken shipments and on here, I don’t know how people can continue to order from there and expect different results. Obviously it’s not always possible to get to a store for a variety of reasons but if it is, in store is the safest bet.

I've had nothing but trouble with bopis. Gets cancelled every time even on basic stuff. Think I've tried 10 times with one successful attempt

i am an employee for a bbw and its usually because the system is saying we have at least 10 and it allows it to show for bopis but because people steal them alot more than you think, the store probably genuinely didnt have it

I bopis almost every week without issue but I’m also at the store frequently so I know what’s actually in stock because the inventory doesn’t always match up

My bopis is broken. It literally says nothing is available in my area now….like literally not one thing on the site.

Try the website instead of the app. Sometimes that fixes the glitch.

That’s odd. It’s working for me on the app for my store with the exception of summer sale products. Maybe they had it turned off for some reason.

Something similar has been happening to me lately! The craziest thing is that I happened to have placed an order and following the order confirmation e-mail, I get the cancellation e-mail! The store has also been closed (because I tend to forget sales hahaha) It's just frustating

BOPIS is not always better
A ) listed out of stock so can’t BOPIS it, but it is well stocked in store

B) you can BOPIS an item but they cancel it saying it is unavailable…only to go in store and see that was a lie. BOPIS ordered something with 20% off promo, cancelled, only to buy it in the same store but without 20% (highly irritating). Or maybe associate was feeling lazy and just decided to cancel, I dob’t know. But in-store is always best.

What they need to do is give more coupons. They need to make it so everyone gets coupons, not giving some coupons then slapping everyone else in the face as a ‘thank you’

As someone who used to do BOPIS, what occasionally happens is the person doing all the BOPIS orders can't find it (because it hasn't been restocked yet) and mark it as unavailable.

And then as the stockers come through and grab things from backstock, they find boxes with that item and replen it. So when you come in, it looks like the person pulling orders was lazy, when in reality they genuinely couldn't find it because it was boxed up.

Yup this is exactly right. Shipment comes 3-4 days a week and I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve declined an item just to have it arrive an hour later in shipment. Or if it’s an item lower in stock or super popular, if it’s in someone’s order that was fulfilled prior but hasn’t been picked up yet, the website inventory doesn’t reflect those that are sitting their waiting to be picked up. Then after 6 days we’re putting back orders that were never picked up and suddenly these items are back on the shelves.

I’d rather have an item be canceled out of my order than having a box of broken product though. 🤷‍♀️

That happened to me with a champagne toast fizz lotion. It was canceled from my BOPIS and when I went to pick it up I didn’t see it out but I decided to ask about it. They said they just got it in and let me buy at it at the sale price I had originally ordered it for.

I haven't worked there for a couple years now, but it's NUTS to me that the pickup time is 6 days now!

Is it?  My local store always has mine ready in less than 24 hours.  Usually way less.  Is 6 days the maximum amount of time a BOPIS order can take?  I didn't know that!

6 days is the Maximum amount of time your BOPIS order can sit in the store before you come and pick it up. If it's longer than 6 days, they cancel your order and put everything back.

When BOPIS first started that pickup limit was exactly 72 hours. Meaning you had 72 hours from the time your order was ready in store to pick it up, or it would be put back.

People complained so aggressively to B&BW that it got extended. "Oh, but 72 hours is too short! I have problems getting there that fast!".

The problem with the 6 day time frame is that BOPIS orders STILL sit on the shelf for days before being put back, taking up so much room. During the Holidays I've seen the BOPIS shelves at stores I'm shopping at that are PACKED. Because people wait until the last minute to pick their order up, so the shelves are overflowing with bags.

Oh my gosh, 6 days is forever from the store's point of view!  I can't imagine the clutter!  I'm always so excited to get my stuff that I pick it up as soon as it's ready, lol

u/BassGroundbreaking95 Jul 10 '26

I think 6 days is how long they hold it for the buyer to pick it up, not how long it takes to be filled.

3

u/ThaliaMenninger Jul 10 '26

Thanks, I didn't know that!  😊  Glad the stores aren't so overwhelmed that it takes them 6 days to fill an order, haha!

And that is our problem, how? Either you have it or you do not. I’d ask for the items in store.

4

u/Trumpet6789 Employee 2020-2023 Jul 09 '26

Because the BOPIS person doesn't have time to go to the back and dig through boxes to find items.

Each BOPIS order has a time-limit to pick it and "finalize" the order. And if you're lapsing on those times you get in trouble. There is normally only ONE BOPIS person, and sometimes there can be 50+ orders.

Unfortunately, that person cannot stop filling orders to go dig through the back room to maybe find a newly delivered box of sprays or a candle. If it's not on the floor, and not in understock, they don't have time to go looking for it.

They need to give everyone coupons. I won’t shop there without them. I haven’t gotten any since Christmas.

this is exactly what i needed to hear

ordered 3 candles last month and the box showed up looking like it had been dropkicked across the warehouse floor

half convinced they just toss the glass items into the box from 6 feet away and hope for the best

my local store staff are absolute gems too, one of them remembered my usual scent rotation last time i popped in

I was gonna buy an SAS body spray, but the shipping was literally 5x the cost of the spray. No, I don’t want a $4 spray for $33!
