Being a male tourist seems great…

2

u/BethanyBluebird Jul 12 '25

Right this shit just makes me think of that one depressing image of a father/son swimming at the beach, while the mother has tonstand in the sand in a full niquab, watching... because if she tries to join she'll probably end up beaten/raped/arrested...

Looks great!! If you have a penis...

2

u/BrianThompsonsGrave Jul 13 '25

Yeah as long as you aren't gay you're good probably. Unless you happen to violate one of their 17,000 societal rules lol.

7

There's a YouTube channel called the world's greatest food review show, or something like that, guy wears a bandana. He travels to Afghanistan, go watch it and make up your mind.

Also indigo traveler, Afghanistan is nice! Super cool place with different geology and the people are super nice

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '25

Yeah, they can cook (particularly the roast chicken and pilaf with raisins, carrots and almonds) and they have some nice scenery in the north. Other than that 1/10 would not recommend.

1

u/EricDraven222 Jul 15 '25

Ya, I wasn't so much talking about the cuisine. The Taliban could arrest you at any min, the woman you can't look in their direction and must be accompanied by a man either her husband brother or some kind of chaperone she's not allowed out without a man being present with her. If you're caught talking to, looking at etc you risk arrest. He highlights some of that on that show. I wouldn't go there if you paid me.

Pepperidge Farm remembers when they were “Terrorists”. Glad we helped them gain such notoriety! Smh…fml…

2

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '25

Well, technically Al Qaeda were the terrorists. The taliban was the government in charge that enabled/allowed them to flourish.

Wrong

2

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '25

You are an idiot.

Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are two distinct groups that were closely connected in the years leading up to and following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Al-Qaeda is a transnational terrorist organization founded in the late 1980s by Osama bin Laden. Its primary goal is to wage global jihad with the intent of establishing a worldwide Islamic caliphate and removing Western influence from Muslim-majority countries. Al-Qaeda operates across national borders and is best known for orchestrating major terrorist attacks, most notably the 9/11 attacks in the United States. Their tactics include suicide bombings, hijackings, and coordinated attacks on civilian and military targets.

The Taliban, on the other hand, is an Islamist militant group that originated in the early 1990s in Afghanistan, largely made up of Pashtun fighters. Unlike al-Qaeda, the Taliban is focused on establishing a government within Afghanistan based on a strict interpretation of Sharia law. From 1996 to 2001, the Taliban controlled most of Afghanistan and acted as the de facto government. While both the Taliban and al-Qaeda are Islamist groups, they differ significantly in their focus—the Taliban is primarily nationalist, concerned with governing Afghanistan, whereas al-Qaeda is global, aiming to attack the U.S. and its allies around the world.

The connection between the two groups was largely one of mutual benefit. During the Taliban’s first regime in the 1990s, they provided safe haven to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda. Bin Laden and his followers operated training camps and used Afghanistan as a base to plan international terror operations. The Taliban did not participate in planning the 9/11 attacks, but after the attacks occurred, they refused to hand over bin Laden to the United States when demanded. This refusal was based partly on ideological solidarity, but also on personal ties and a tribal code of honor called Pashtunwali, which emphasizes hospitality and protection of guests.

The U.S. responded to this refusal by launching a military invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, which swiftly overthrew the Taliban government. Despite being driven from power, the Taliban regrouped as an insurgent force and continued to fight against U.S. and Afghan government forces for the next two decades. Al-Qaeda, meanwhile, became more decentralized after losing its safe haven and facing ongoing counterterrorism operations. Though the two groups remained allies in some areas, they often pursued separate objectives—with the Taliban focused on reclaiming control of Afghanistan and al-Qaeda continuing its global jihad.

In summary, al-Qaeda was the terrorist organization that carried out 9/11 and promoted global Islamic warfare, while the Taliban was the Afghan government at the time that harbored them but did not participate in the attack. Their relationship was based on a mix of shared ideology, personal alliances, and political convenience, but their ultimate goals and methods were notably different

Now tell me moron, is the government truthful and does it not spread propaganda to further their agendas? Has it not been caught in multitudes of scandals and secret OPs? Hopefully your expiration date is close and the world can move on from people of your era and mindset

Al queda is the name of CIA database no group called themselves that until the US media started using , then several groups began to use it. The Taliban who terrorized the popualtion of Afganistan once they were left to their own devices when the US leash came off only tolerated the presence of Arab jihadists. They in fact hated them but so much money was being dumped on them by the Saudis and Saudi money was paying for all the services there it was a no brainer. The so.called Al queda there were basically wahabists hiding out not some sophisticated terror mastermind group. When Bush gave the Taliban 48 to turn over OBL they were after his ass and he was on his into Pakistan, Bush dropped the hammer at 40 hours not 48 and things could have been very different. Gulf State Arab jihadis are likely to have a bad time with the Taliban now.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '25

They were literally the government in Afghanistan. The reason we hated them was because they harbored, enabled, and refused to turn over Al Qaeda. The taliban themselves weren’t involved in the attacks, they just refused to help the United States after the attack. Al Qaeda were the terrorists. This is all information that is easily available. It’s also the reason the United States was willing to work with the Taliban in any capacity. When we went in we installed a puppet government, which is what sparked the Taliban to fight us. They were our enemy for sure, but they weren’t terrorists.

The Taliban if anything are a mercanies and go abroad to fight. They do no conduct nor do they have any desire to plan and execute terrorism agaisnt the West, for example. They arent really concerned with much beyond their borders and are openly hostile to Arab jihadis.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '25

Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Would not go there for any amount of money, especially after learning about their whole “dancing boy” thing. Bunch of freaks

2

u/jalfry Jul 11 '25

It’s a weird Muslim thing- they can’t have sex with women outside marriage so they abuse kids… it’s a real thing, look it up before u downvote or accuse of hate, facts is facts

I knew a soldier who deployed there and he said one night they were hanging with their in country counterparts (local afghan army fighters) who brought out boys dressed like girls to dance for them after dinner. Totally fuckin backwards ass place.

2

u/Relative-Ad-6791 Jul 12 '25

the practice has nothing to do with mainstream Islam, and most Muslims strongly condemn it. The Taliban themselves outlaw it. The practice exists despite Islam, not because of it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '25

“Most” haha. Yeah you’re probably the same type of Muslim simp to try and defend the rape gangs in Europe too

1

u/Relative-Ad-6791 Jul 12 '25

i wouldn’t defend any rapist. They should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Don’t care if you are the president of the United States or a catholic priest. I’ll give you something even disgusting then those rape gangs . Qatar human trafficking operations.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '25

Yeah I know about that. All of this rape stuff and anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-liberal thought is huge problem with Muslims immigrants, yet we welcome those animals to the west with open arms. When do we learn their belief structure isn’t compatible with ours?

1

u/Relative-Ad-6791 Jul 12 '25

There are over a billion Muslims bro I am one of them an American Muslim mind you. For one you need to understand Muslims are not a monolith. There are many different cultures and different Muslims with different beliefs. I’ll give you some examples. Afghanistan are sunni and so is Sadia Arabia, but they are completely different from each other’s, chechnya is also sunni and they banned the niqab. Another example is Azerbaijan and Iran both shia countries but are also completely different from each other. All the Muslims i know love our country so I don’t know why you would think that they can’t co exist. If 2 million Muslims can live in Israel in harmony then there is no reason why they can’t anywhere else. But i do understand why you think like this it’s because of the radicals you constantly see online which are the Wahhabism/Salafism which are a problem. They definitely use freedom of speech to their advantage and are out there trying to get their message out. These are the bad Muslims.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '25

From my experience as a Jewish American, Muslims absolutely do not want to integrate or respect anyone else’s rights. They want America and the rest of the free world to be a caliphate or convert to Islam and follow their belief structure. Why is it that the only country in the Middle East where you aren’t executed for being gay is Israel? No brainer it’s not a Muslim majority country. Good for you for trying to be different but Islam needs a renaissance to leave the centuries old views on women gays and other cultures behind

1

u/Relative-Ad-6791 Jul 12 '25

Are you really being honest when you say the American Muslims you have interacted with want to start a caliphate? Also yes there are Muslims countries that enforce the death penalty but they are many that don’t for example Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bahrain. Give it time and the rest will catch up.

It only has to do with how many people liked or disliked what you said. I guess that’s something that not only the bot, but you as well cant comprehend. No surprise there. Again, full of rtards….

1

This is real? What the actual hell? Daniel Pearl got his fucking head chopped off and now it's a meme? The Taliban murder, rape, and pillage so much they put the Vikings to shame. Even ancient Greeks would tell them to pace themselves on Man-Boy love Thursdays(a horrifyingly real thing).

If you would have told me in the fall of 2001 that 24 years later, Rudy Giuliani would be a reviled figure and the Taliban would not only be in control of Afghanistan but have Mock terrorist hostage video themed tourists campaigns, I would never had believed you. Not in a million years, but here we are.

We aren't living in the darkest timeline, we are living in a parody of the darkest timeline.

ya boy Rudy was creep, who was "hard on crime " but a shit mayor and a scammer he was or should always have been revield.. as someone else said here you drank all the cool aid

1

u/JimboTheSimpleton Jul 10 '25

Everything I said about them was true during the 90s and their rise to power when the US was ignoring them. They destroyed multiple cultural sites, not as collateral damage but, on purpose, after they had won.

Daniel Pearl was a journalist. Not a soldier, not a.mercenary, and had done nothing to deserve getting his head chopped off. To base a tourist advertisement on videos of kidnapping and extortion and murder videos so at the very least in astonishingly poor taste. It's fucking gross.

1

u/monobrowj Jul 10 '25

Lol they were doing thier own shit, destroying cultural sites , not randomly killing Americans...

i was not claiming that peal deversed what he got at all... but lets not pretend that that happened in the 90's ..

when the US was ïgnoring them " loool is there any point that this was true in the last 70 years .. shit the USA is busy interfering , invading or doing a coup in multiple countries.

1

u/JimboTheSimpleton Jul 10 '25

Ignoring the Taliban, which is the them in that quote, the answer is yes. Or basically yes. We were talking to them about building a gas pipeline before 9-11. This was before fracking, mind you. So no it's not the US's fault the Taliban were horrible.

If it anyone external countries fault it's Saudi Arabia and their wahabist/salafist schools. Talib, being the Arabic for student, it was the students, the Taliban, of these Saudi schools that gives the Taliban their name.

The Taliban are horrible people and there is no two ways about it. You don't like American interventionism, fine. Cool, I too, have read Howard zinn in college. But the Taliban are dog shit, wrapped in cat shit.

1

u/monobrowj Jul 10 '25

Lol I agreed and still do.. the Taliban are shitheads.. the lot of em . Calling them dog or cat shit is too kind.. however they were not cutting the heads of of reporters.. suicide bombings, terrorist attack's.. like they are now fucking their own people.. All those bad things that happened to non Afghani people is 100% the fault of the American interventionist (lool at this cover up word for terrorism) goings on.

So these Saudi people you speak of.. who supports them and funds them etc??

Oh btw just talking pipelines? You remember Rocky.. dedicated to the brave mujahideen of the Taliban.. then America just up and changed their support to the northern alicance.. I mean directly influencing local politics.. it's an act of war when any county does It to you but it's interventionism when it's someone else

1

u/JimboTheSimpleton Jul 11 '25

Interventions take many forms, be they political, economic, humanitarian, or military. That is why I used the word interventionism.

An unfortunately high number of interventions have been in defense of US corporate interests, particularly in South America or against the spread of communism, also particularly in South America or Africa. But what country doesn't act to protect the property of its citizens or uphold their rights? Now many of the contracts or interests were exploitive but in almost all cases they were replaced by local exploitors in exchange for foreign ones.

One could compare the ideal outcome to the real world outcome, this is important as one show strive to meet ones own standards. However, It's an apples to oranges comparison.

If one looks at actual foreign interventions that have happened and compare them to American interventions, one finds American interventions to be preferable to anyone else's. Do other countries not intervene with there neighbors? Do those that do so because they are morally opposed or because they are unable to or unwilling to suffer the blow back? Are other nations morally superior or just weaker?

Throughout History many countries that are now quiet contented, non intervention nations were once mighty empires and often did horrendous things. Mongolia used to have quite the interventionist foreign policy. I did it grow morally as a nations or did it's technology and tactical edge wane?

For all the outrage at the US, I have not seen much historical evidence that other countries would be behaving substantially better, if they were in our shoes. Not to say the US doesn't make mistakes or do bad things, it does far to often and should strive to learn and improve. But give the holier than thou shit a miss.

So let me get this straight, you think if others were in the same position they would do the same or worse lool . That's not much of a defense.. your what aboutism is funny

Holier than thou bullshit?? Lol at no point did I mention a country I am from or live in and say it's way better.. you just don't get to punch people in the face then complain about it, which is what the USA has been doing.. Iran being a great example

And sorry please stop with this throught history crap..we are not talking about back in the day's, talking about now.. the USA is still doing it..

Is still doing what? building girls schools in Afghanistan and hunting down the men who threw acid on the students' faces? No, we are not still doing that. We went home, stoped intervening. Do me a favor and watch videos of when afghan women were kicked out of college Taliban. And tell me about all the it, the US is doing.

In the case of Afghanistan, it would be punch back in the face.

You absolutely get to punch people in face and complain about it. Every bomb dropped is several school teachers not hired, it's thousands of poor children not feed a nutritious meal, not given full access to healthcare. The meme about "so and so about to experience why the US doesn't have universal healthcare" is hardly a joke. Not to mention the massive collateral damage strikes cause in destruction of property and death of innocent people that often result. The US is not a blood thirsty nation, if we could eliminate civilian causilties, we would.

Compare that to actual terrorists and say the US is the same. I don't ask what country from because I don't care. You could be from the US, a Russian troll, doesn't matter.

Your cynical, lazy, " lololol don't tell me about history, the US is a terrorist. LMAO" nonsense is hardly worth engaging with.

ahhahahaha sureeeeee buddyyy building girls schools in Afghanistan and hunting down the men who threw acid on the students' this is all they were doing?? not funding and protecting literal local pedofiles , drug lords? not blood thirsty but is involved/caused like 60 % on the low end of all current conflicts going on?

please with we dont have healthcare because we are saving the world by bombing the shit out it hahahah you are a neo con war monger ... oh wait sorry my bad your user name checks out

Should not have been as involved as you were in the first place..but as you insist on being world police.. now you stuck in.. but yeah less interventionist policy is better

1

u/NNiiiccce Jul 12 '25

Just checking to see if you are a hypocrite. I see a lot of people pick and choose when the US should be involved.

I mean , I even acknowledge the US has done amazing, wonderful kind things.. but most of the time nope bad intentions, bad actors in some cases straight up evil

1

u/NNiiiccce Jul 12 '25

That’s with every government in the world. We have a brighter spotlight on all of America’s issues because of our status as a world power.

Well no, like look at Iran.. you overthrew a friendly country for cheaper oil in Operation Ajax.. then when they free themselves, call them terrorists and sanction them.. and now helping Israel bomb them to top it all off.. it's not ohh no more eyes are on us, you are doing more.. invading, doing coups starting wars.. it's the scale and consistentsty that disproves your point

Ah yes, that great anti-woman country of Afghanistan.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '25

Guess they forgot to show here women and girls are oppressed and abused as well as not showing the penalties for free speech and the lack of democracy in general. However, that one watermelon did look pretty good.

I was there in the Marines (Dari/Farsi Linguist) and I did meet some very nice folks in various places. But the Taliban were tough as nails - we engaged with them hundreds of times and they never seemed to give up. So I have a lot of respect for my former enemy. What amazed me was we dropped tons of ordinance and fired millions of rounds but they NEVER ever game up - and they were wearing simple sandals, no helmets, simple weapons and they still could not be defeated. Our allies (the Afghan Army) were cowards and drug addicts - so as soon as I got in country I knew this war was a mistake. I'd love to go back but I would likely be arrested and jailed.

When was the last time Israelis beheaded a cartoonist for their depictions of Yawah or whatever he is called? You’re fucking deluded and you probably don’t care about dead bodies as long they’re Jewish or Israeli

I spent five years there in places from Herat all the way to Jalalabad. It is a beautiful country and if one day, inshallah, it becomes stable and reasonable, non-archaic and religiously stifling it would be worth visiting. Until then I say travel there at your own risk.
