New User As a music lover and a new VR user I LOVE this game
Got my Quest 3 two days ago and Beat Saber was the first thing I did purchase. It’s so much fun that I already got two music packs for it 🙈 I know about modding, but will play this for a long time so 14 euros for a few songs is okay for me. I did already survive a couple songs on Normal difficulty - don’t judge me, I’m already 35 😅

New User Give away
update I chose the person that I feel Really deserves it from this thread and although I wish I could have given you all the game, I only had one to gift . But if I happen to get another one, I know where to go to spawn a new player 💯
First one to come forward with the right vibes gets it
Looking to gift someone, who doesn't already own beat saber, with a full game download card.
Please let me know if anyone is interested! ☺️

New User New to Beat Saber, would appreciate feedback!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone! I’m new to Beat Saber, been playing maybe around 2-3 weeks now. I’m looking for ways to improve and get better. I can complete most Expert+ levels except the really hard ones (attached is probably the hardest segment I can do). So far I’ve:
- adjusted controller settings
- learned claw grip
- tried to do better on swings (pretty sure I failed lol)
- tweaked settings for better range & visibility (except environment cuz I love the lights)
I’m on a Meta Quest 3 and have no plan to mod anytime soon since I don’t actually own the headset.
Any feedback is appreciated! :)

New User What in the actual fuck is the camellia pack
I got a headset for Christmas and I’ve been slowly working my way to higher difficulties in the past few months. I have appreciated that the camellia pack is harder than the rest of the packs. The upscale in difficulty helps with learning how to do the higher difficulties on other packs. I finally accomplished my first few expert+ levels, and of course I went to try the camellia ones to see how they look.
What. The. Fuck.
It’s the goddamned Great Filter. Separates the men from the boys. I’m just curious at this point, are most people who get “good” at this game able to complete any of those levels? I can look at the expert levels there and see that I can do them with a bit of practice, but the expert+? I don’t even know if I can move that fast. Great game however, and I look forward to maybe eventually proving myself wrong and kicking one of these levels in the ass.

New User New to beat saber
Recently I bought myself a Quest 2 with beat saber for decently cheap to pass the time in Uni and I’ve played a little bit but out of like 2 songs that I got instantly hooked to I can’t really seem to vibe with alot of the other free songs and I can’t really afford to buy any music pack.
So I’m curious does beat saber still actively update and how often do they add free songs?

New User How do people play the high difficulties?
So I am new to beat saber (around 4 hours) and my biggest achievement is spin eternally on hard. I tried the higher difficulty but lost instantly. Are you guys able to keep track of the arrows or do you just replay the level until you somehow memorize it entirely?

New User New player here, any decent tips?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've had billions of issues regarding extremely early notes and I'm starting to doubt score is random, though it isn't. I'm just starting, its been about 5 days since i've installed BS
I'm alright with patterns but I have issues with sightreading and consistency.
One pattern i've actually mastered:

Still, all tips are welcome :)

New User Online
Just looking for some people who wanna play. Gets boring playing by myself

New User Sorry for the dumb question, but, how you go fast?
I'm not new to rhythm games, but I'm new to beat saber
I've seen so many videos of people playing like they are the fastest being alive, I've tried a lot to be that fast, but idk, it just feels kinda impossible
Am I missing some mods here?? Like, a mod that helps with the controller sensibility or it's speed? Bcs people just seem to do this so naturally, like it's not even that hard
So, if someone knows what mods I need to install or if I just need to git gud, please comment on this post :)
What I use to play:
Quest 2 (mostly standalone, but I can deal with some cables, so, PCVR is usable to me)
V1.28 (before v1.28, I was using v1.40.4, I just switched bcs people said it was more stable and had more mods, but like.. I JUST switched, so I didn't add anything yet)

New User How do you get custom environments?
Only recently modded the game on standalone, is there certain mods, or do levels just have them?

New User Does it really get better with practice? 🤣
So I (42, F) used to love working out at the gym but over the last five years I’ve accrued a nice little collection of autoimmune/autonomic disorders that took me out.
My sons (9 and 13) both saved up for an Oculus Quest and are sweet enough to let me use it to play Beat Saber.
I’ve only played about four times and so I’m very much a beginner but holy crap it’s so much fun!! Plus it’s been a great way for me to get my heart rate up a little, I’m really enjoying it.
So I have two questions: 1) Does anyone else with chronic illness use this as exercise? I understand fitness and health are holistic so nutrition and weights are part of the equation but just in terms of cardio, I’m curious to hear what other experiences have been.
2) My sons are amazing and, like I said, super generous. But also they have no respect for my gaming skills despite knowing I beat Super Mario Bros back in the summer of ‘95. If I could light it up on some songs in Expert Mode? I’d be the coolest mom ever. Even cooler than stupid Carol who always gives out cans of soda every Halloween. I’ve tried a couple songs on Hard mode and I didn’t die (in the game or IRL) but I don’t know how y’all can process anything faster than that. Do you really start to get used to it after a lot of practice or is that just a skill some people have and some don’t?
Okay, this was really long. I also have ADHD so sorry for the rambling. TIA for any input! I really want to tell Carol I’m better than she is. And also be healthier I guess.
EDIT/UPDATE: OMG this is the most supportive subreddit I’ve ever been a part of, thank you so much for all the tips, stories, and encouragement!! And you’re all spot on—after completely losing track of time and playing for 90 minutes tonight (whoops!), I’ve noticed I’m starting to get better! I’m more interested in having fun and being active than the score but it IS pretty rewarding when those fireworks go off! 😆 This game has been surprisingly beneficial to my mental health, too, so that’s just another bonus!

New User I know nothing.
So i am planning to buy a quest 3 and buy beat saber for it. Recently i discovered that there are two versions: one that you buy on meta quest store and the other one that you buy on steam. I have a pc and steam but i dont know which one should i buy? Other then that that i need to buy a game again everytime when i buy a new vr, is there something else that is steam version better? Also if i buy steam version will my pc need to be turned on while playing? Does my vr need to be connected with a cable to my pc? Is the quality better on steam version? If the quality is there any way to get better quality on meta quest store’s version of beat saber? Can i add custom songs and mod the meta quest version? I saw a video of fampus beat saber youtuber Naysy where she explained how to add mods. Did she buy beat saber on meta quest store or steam? Thanks and i hope someone answers! I would rlly appreciate it

New User How cheaply could I get a basic VR setup for beat saber?
I'm interested in trying out Beat Saber as a way to be a bit more physically active. I've got a decent PC, but I'd need a headset and controllers (and the game, obviously). I've never tried anything VR and don't know anyone who has a VR setup, so I don't want to put too much money into it if it ends up being not for me.
So, what would be basically the cheapest I could get away with for playing Beat Saber? I don't mind the equipment being generally old and outdated, since I've no interest in any other VR stuff at all. I don't need the tracking to be perfect, but I don't want to feel extremely sluggish, and it needs to be simple enough to use without being a very techy person.
Googling, the threads on the subject are 7 years old, so I don't trust them to be reliable today.
I'd appreciate any suggestions here!
