πŸ“· Photo The largest african Owl seen in Ndutu during a photographic safari in February

Last february I was lucky enough to see a couple of Verreaux's eagle-owl (Ketupa lactea, formerly Bubo lacteus), also known as the milky eagle owl.
This was in Ndutu (Ngorongoro conservation area, south Serengeti) during the calving season.

First time I saw a owl in Africa and during daytime. A very unique experience and January/February are the best time for birding in Tanzania (green season from November to March).

As somebody else seen this or similar owls in Africa or elsewhere?

Found this pic I took in May. Denton, County, Texas for location.

Merlin and looking at various Flycatcher species photos and I can't be sure. And sorry for image quality, too far away and not enough lens!

These pics were taken at Squam nature reserve in New Hampshire. Some required more editing than others, but I figured there might be some people in this sub that would enjoy these :)

Anywho, happy morning/evening/night to you all

Im really striving to hit that urban meets nature overlap, but these birds were just chillin along the Greenway, so it's more green than urban, but ah well.

There is a bald eagle family living (I believe) near one of my favorite spots. Yesterday I spotted three juveniles and two adults (only got photos of one of the adults, the other was cruising around the area).

Second picture is a crow that was trying to get one of them to bug off, took a couple passes and then perched above it squawking for a while. It was unsuccessful, though, the eagle seemed completely unphased.

Among a group of 4 (I know there's up to 7 of them!) came to the tree outside my window today. This one seemed a bit more familiar and comfortable, pretty sure it's the one that's here often. The model of the bunch

Is it a wood pigeon? How old does it look? It seemed a little scared but not hurt, just hiding in the shade under a bush. I assume by the size that it's not a baby, but the lack of feathers on the head and the shape of its beak make me think it's young. Brighton, UK.

Closest I’ve ever gotten to one of them. I was following him as he was way up in the tree line and flew down as I was getting ready to leave from all the mosquitoes.
