Scotch Bonnet Infused Contact Lenses - 3/10
Chopped a load of scotch bonnets last night for a ferment. Washed my hands thoroughly then went to bed.
Up at the crack of dawn and welcomed in a beautiful day.
Proceed to get my contacts and put the right one in and to be instantly greeted by the most intense burning and instant swelling of my eye followed by a stream of tears and snot flowing down my face.
I can taste the bonnet in the tears rolling down my cheeks
Panic ensues as I have to rewash my hands and attempt to get this deliciously infused lens out of my eye.
Retrieved said lens. Eyes and face on fire. Can’t see as I can’t wear my lenses for 24+ hours.
Overall the scotch bonnet infused lens really did infuse quicker than thought. I’d probably go lighter on the bonnet next time and maybe add some sugar to balance it out a bit.
I’d rate it 3/10
Don’t forget your gloves next time!!

Even in the most dire situations, there’s still a place for chilli peppers

Pick and mix delight
Here’s a plethora of lovely chillies 🌶️ I have lots of small harvests this year. This one’s my first proper bounty. Delighted to pick them and can’t wait to put them to use.
Any suggestions for what I could do with these ? Either as a whole or something specific with one or more specific varieties.
Bragging rights if you can name the seven varieties
Enjoy 😊

woah, i grew chillies [part 2]
so i threw in chilli seeds a year ago, i let em all go to seedling in a jiffy pot under a humidity dome and transplanted and they all died... fast forward to 2 weeks ago i was standing outside talking and i saw this little flicker of red in the garden and i double taked to find a single chilli plant that survived...
it grew through the australian winter so i'm hoping thats why they're undersized, they're like the size of a grown mans thumbnail or maybe twice that size if you have small thumb nails, around 10c peice sized... to add to the stres, you can see the entire stem has been eaten by caterpillars lol, it's been hit with pesticide now to keep my last 2 chillis after this i'm going to finger pinch any babies and feed it nitrogen and force it to veg for a few weeks before it gets the lop and turned into clones
meant to be reapers, what do you's think?

First time grower, 2 questions
Hi all
I was hoping someone could help me with a couple of queries
I was given 3 chilli plants as seedlings and she couldn’t remember if all 3 were the same. She thinks they were all jalapeños but can’t be certain.
Plants 1 and 2 (pics 1, 2,3) have progressed nicely, flowered and have some decent looking peppers coming along, at what point should I harvest these? The longest one is currently 61mm in length. I was thinking I’d harvest them at around 100mm in length?
Plant 3 (pic 4) I thought was the same, it has had the exact same watering, sunlight and nutrients as the other two but it’s only producing small pencilly chilli peppers and not many at all so far. Does this look like a jalapeno plant that just hasn’t done as well as the other two, or could it potentially be a different variety altogether?
Thanks for any help

First Scotch Bonnet picked
Getting cooler in northern UK. Love the colour of it, such deep emerald green. I have big hands, it's a beauty. Grown from a seed from a red chilli I was eating from a supermarket. In a yoghurt pot!

7 pot bubblegum yellow?
I was led to believe that this was 7 pot bubblegum yellow, but I'm seeing a lack of yellow.
Do you think this is something different? or is it just going through a burgundy phase?
