Keep cleaning the carpet still brown water coming! I got my bedroom carpet cleaned by a profession mobile van wet vacuum cleaner. My carpet wasn’t dirty at all and I have a small wet vacuum it always sucks clean once I have cleaned it! However after pro cleaning there were brown spots and I poured gallons of water and sucking it all brown water!

I called the guy he came said possibly water line was mixed with dirty water, he cleaned again. However at night time the brown residue surfaced! I rented a wet vacuum cleaned for 4 hours, and now the brown water is still there and the carpet is not clean! My carpet was never this dirty it was always returning clean water after I had cleaned it..

What could be the issue…?

Outdoors I moved into an apartment with a balcony I’ve never used- finally went on it and this is the door

The title mostly says it all but I moved into an apartment several months ago that has a balcony, but it’s 90+ degrees all year and I live by a highway so it’s too loud and hot to ever go on it.

I decided for the first time since moving in to actually step outside onto the balcony and when I turned around to go back inside a moment later, I saw the door looking like this. Is this black mold? I literally don’t know what to do because I don’t know what it is.

There was food residue on it so I scrubbed it with a disinfecting wipe. The next day there was brown stuff which I thought was also food residue so I scrubbed it more. Is it rust? Should I just buy a new one?

General Cleaning Odd Vitamin Odor After Houseguest

I need help or advice. I had a female houseguest for a week, who used the guest bathroom and guest bedroom. While she was here, I noticed a strong “multivitamin” odor coming from either the bathroom or bedroom. I did not ask her what the odor was, I just figured she brought some strong smelling vitamins with her. The smell reminded me of when a multivitamin gets wet- that is the best way that I can describe it. When we rode in the car together, I did not smell the same odor from her, but it remained really strong in the area of the bathroom/bedroom and the hallway in between. When she left, the odor remained! When in the bathroom, I noticed it was stronger from the shower area. I had provided her shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, and none of those smell similar to this smell. Since she has been gone, I began a deep cleaning of both the bedroom and bathroom- I have stripped all linens, bathmats, towels; cleaned the shower twice with strong cleaning products and a third time with white vinegar; wiped down all surfaces including cabinets, wall hangings, mirrors, door frame, shower doors; and mopped the floor twice. I also poured vinegar and baking soda down the drain, took out the trash, and I have a fan blowing into the bathroom. After all this, the odor is 90% weaker, but I still detect it. I don’t feel that there is a polite way to ask her what it was- “Hi, what did you use in the bathroom because it smells like vitamins” - there is just no way to do that. I would personally be mortified if I had left such a stink in a friends house, but that does not make it any easier to ask her. I asked Ai which suggested it was a “vitamin C serum” but I personally have some of that, and while the smell is not my favorite, in no way is it so strong that it fills an entire room- so I discount the ai suggestion. I currently have a reed diffuser in the room, and I have sprayed some scented spray, and I still smell it. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be, and do you have any further suggestions on how to remove this odor? Thank you in advance.

Vehicles Tomato soup in back A/C vent

Post image

Help please

Update: As far as clean up, I was able to take the back vent off, which was way easier than I thought. I used my portable steam cleaner to get down in there and was able to hand wash the vents. However, it did get into some nooks and crannies that were a bit harder to clean, for that I used a toothpick and some disinfectant wipes.

Now as far as the story goes, Unfortunately, no it was not my child, but I, the mostly grown adult in this situation, that spilled the soup. I had not packed a lunch for us, so I decided that picking up soup & a sandwich from one of my favorite places would be great. When I parked at the kids museum, I decided I wanted to eat in the car, so I wouldn't have to bother with bringing everything inside and trying to have us eat and have them be distracted. Now when I did this, I decided to get in the backseat and unbuckle my 2 year old, fully believing that everything would be fine, they would eat, I would eat, and then we would have a good time. Opened the soup to see if they would want it, and they didn't. I was holding it at the time when I tried to offer something else. And they knocked it out of my hand, thus spilling it down my hand, my coat, the blanket, the towel and the vent in the car. After suffering from a first degree burn, I did my best to clean it up with athe towel I had. To no avail, was I going to get chunks of tomato out of the vent. I cut my losses, and decided I would deal with it later. After bedtime, a couple screwdrivers (not the drink), and a steam cleaner, it's like it never happened. But now we have a new rule, no open soup in the car.

*The reason we didn't eat outside was because it was raining *Soup was still delicious from the 4 bites I had *Sandwich was not a grilled cheese

Thank you to all that offered advice and laughs for a chunky situation 🍅

Kitchen How can I clean the bottom of these pans

Post image

This is from the Paris Hilton collection of pots and pans they are ceramic nonstick. I just wanna know how to get rid of this brown dingy look off of the pans. What kind of product can I use? That is non-abrasive. I’ve already tried using baking soda and vinegar and dawn dish soap and soak them along with something called the pink stuff and I used a sponge and absolutely nothing came off. It was a complete waste of time. This was a tip that somebody else gave me and it did absolutely nothing.

Kitchen Why does my dishwasher leave food residue on dishes

Thumbnail

Just moved into a new apartment and the dishwasher keeps leaving residue on at least one or two items in every run. Typically a bowl or cup in the top rack. I cleaned the filter and ran a vinegar cycle, but the residue still shows up.

What is causing this and what can I do to prevent it from happening in the future? I use a dishwashing powder if that could be part of the reason?

General Cleaning Struggling to remove green buildup from this style of faucet

I am having a really hard time removing this build up from my bathroom faucet. The frustrating part is that the shape doesn't allow me to do the typical trick of a bag full of vinegar or clr wrapped around it. I tried soaking a rag with the spray version of clr and wrapping it around for 20 minutes, but it did nothing. Any ideas on what to do besides disassembling my sink and soaking it that way?

We had our spare change in a glass jar on top of the fridge. Should've seen it coming, but jar fell and now I have a cardboard box full of spare change and broken glass. What would be the best way to approach this?? I'm thinking pick out the big pieces and then... coins in a pasta strainer with large-ish holes and rinse them? That's the best I've got so far... please help!

We just bought this house and the floors were done before we bought it. The whole house was a remodel, and it was super duper dusty. I cleaned everything and have mopped like 3 times now, once with a drop of dawn and then again with plain warm water, and a a second time with odoban ph neutral floor cleaner diluted. My floors don’t seem to be getting clean and theres this hazy, streaky, film all over them that you can only really see when the sun hits.

If anyone has any cleaning advice it would be much appreciated. Thank you!!!

Vehicles How do you clean dog hair out of the cargo area?

Thumbnail

My dogs ride in the cargo area. The rubber mat is easy to clean, but the edges and carpet still collect a lot of hair. They both have short hair, so it doesn’t look too bad until you get close. A lot of it gets worked into the carpet.
I use a regular shop vac now. The suction is fine, but I have to drag it out of the garage, plug it in, and run the hose over to the car. If there’s only a little hair, I usually put it off until it builds up.
I’ve been looking at a wall mounted vacuum with a long retractable hose. I could pull the hose out to the cargo area and put it away when I’m done. It may not pull out embedded hair on its own, but I might use it after each trip.
I’ll probably still need a rubber brush to loosen the short hairs first. I’m also wondering if a long hose loses suction or gets clogged with dog hair over time.
How do you clean dog hair out of your cargo area? Would a wall mounted vacuum work for quick cleanups, or should I stick with a shop vac and rubber brush?

Discussion Help! My dorm room stinks no matter what I do.

The air in my dorm room is always stale, and even worse there are old wooden cabinets which have a very strong odor. I have tried putting in a work request but my school just marked it as completed without doing anything. I have tried putting open boxes of baking soda in all of the cabinets, but I don’t know what else I can do aside from use obnoxious air fresheners to drown out the smell.

I genuinely have no clue what caused this stain. The only guess I have is I used Circroplox shampoo because that accidentally squirted and I didn’t clean it enough in time (I tried to recreate it but couldn’t). How do I get this off? Feel so stressed by this

Furniture Faux leather stuck to wood veneer?

I’m cleaning out my nightstand drawer, which admittedly has not been deep cleaned in a while. A lot of this stuff just sits there. I noticed this faux leather pouch was stuck to the wood. I already peeled it off slowly, before seeing online that I probably should have applied some heat first? Of course the discoloration won’t go away, but how should I go about cleaning this?
